Abstract

The present invention discloses an air filter for an internal combustion engine, particularly for an automotive vehicle, said air filter comprising a casing which includes an inlet on the impure air side, an outlet on the pure air side, and a casing tap, the air outlet being provided with a cylindrical tubing disposed inside the casing and embedded in a filtering means. An annular filtering cartridge (6) is also releaseably attached to the casing, through which air flows in a radial direction inwardly from the outside, said filtering cartridge being provided with said cylindrical tubing which comprises a radial joint (11) on the opposite front surface, said radial joint being disposed on said cylindrical tubing and obstructing the impure air chamber relative to the pure air chamber. The radial joint (11) includes an obstruction zone for obstructing the area between the cylindrical tubing and the filtering cartridge (6), and an obstruction zone which is integral with the casing tap and disposed opposite the surface of said cylindrical tubing.
