Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para mejorar la recuperación de petróleo, caracterizado porque comprende: (a) introducir en un yacimiento petrolífero un microorganismo capaz de crecer en un ambiente de fluido de inyección de agua; en donde el yacimiento petrolífero comprende microorganismos formadores de biosellos autóctonos; y en autóctonos; y en donde el microorganismo está genéticamente modificado para (i) ser deficiente en su capacidad para producir un biosello de restricción de flujo y (ii) para producir biopolímeros libres de células solubles in situ dentro del yacimiento petrolífero; y (b) inyectar agua del yacimiento con un fluido de arrastre que contiene un compuesto tóxico para los microorganismos formadores de biosellos autóctonos para reducir la concentración de los microorganismos formadores de biosellos autóctonos en el yacimiento petrolífero.
