Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un biorreactor para el estudio in situ de biopelículas microbianas mesófilas y termófilas, inductoras de corrosión en superficies metálicas. El biorreactor de la presente invención es un aparato portátil que se emplea en cualquier industria, tal como la petrolera, química, petroquímica, de refinación de petróleo, alimenticia, metalúrgica, papelera, etc. Entre las características más importantes de la presente invención se encuentran las siguientes: 1) La configuración del biorreactor es de tipo "batch", maneja tanto flujo turbulento como flujo laminar tipo pistón en operación por ciclos, con la circulación continua del fluido, emplea un medio de cultivo o fluido de operación o producción de la industria en cuestión que contenga su propia microbiota, el cual se introduce en la carga del cuerpo receptor, por lo que el biorreactor es de una sola fase. 2) El biorreactor comprende una sección de soporte de cupones metálicos corrosimétricos, donde los cupones quedan en contacto con el fluido en condiciones dinámicas, tal como sucede en los ductos que transportan fluidos, propiciando de manera natural la formación de la biopelícula microbiana; cada determinado tiempo los cupones son retirados para su análisis y con ello seguir una cinética de desarrollo de la biopelícula microbiana. 3) Las condiciones de operación del biorreactor comprenden una sección en la que hay suficiente turbulencia para que el fluido se homogenice y mantenga una temperatura de 20 a 80 °C, necesaria para el crecimiento de microorganismos mesófilos o termófilos, salinidad de 2 a 200 ppm (NaCI) y un intervalo de pH de 2 a 10; es decir, las condiciones de operación del biorreactor se ajustan a las características fisicoquímicas del fluido de la industria a evaluar.
