Abstract

No pueden montarse transductores eléctricos directamente en una pantalla; por consiguiente, se eliminan muchos modos de falla mecánica asociados con un transductor vibratorio, y se produce una operación mucho más silenciosa. Por razones de diseño, los reactores o transductores pueden hacer realmente contacto con la pantalla, y cada uno puede ocupar menos de seis y medio centímetros cuadrados (una pulgada cuadrada) de superficie de pantalla que los diseños anteriores, que pueden estar fuera del área de visualización activa y dentro de 30 centímetros (12 pulgadas) del borde de la pantalla, preferentemente menos de aproximadamente 2.5 centímetros pulgada) del borde de la pantalla. Los reactores son imanes, aunque, en ciertas condiciones de operación, puede hacerse funcionar cualquier material ferroso.
