Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a composiciones y métodos para conferir actividad plaguicida a bacterias, plantas, células vegetales, tejidos y semillas. Se proveen composiciones que comprenden una secuencia codificante de un polipéptido de una toxina. Las secuencias codificantes se pueden usar en construcciones de ADN o casetes de expresión para transformar y expresar en plantas y bacterias. Las composiciones también comprenden bacterias, plantas, células vegetales, tejidos y semillas transformadas. En particular, se proporcionan moléculas de ácidos nucleicos aisladas de toxina. Adicionalmente se incluyen secuencias de aminoácidos que corresponden a los polinucleótidos, y anticuerpos que se unen específicamente a estas secuencias de aminoácidos. En particular, la presente invención provee moléculas de ácido nucleico aisladas que comprenden secuencias de nucleótidos que codifican las secuencias de aminoácidos indicadas en la SEQ ID N°: 2 ó 4, la secuencia de nucleótidos detallada en la SEQ ID N°: 1 ó 3, así como variantes y fragmentos de las mismas.
