Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a métodos independientes de acil-CoA para la producción de un éster de cera en células hospederas recombinantes diseñadas para expresar una éster de cera acil-ACP sintasa, y una acil-ACP reductasa formadora de alcoholes; los métodos de la invención puede tener lugar en microorganismos fotosintéticos, y en particular en cianobacterias; también se proporcionan las moléculas aisladas de nucleótidos y los vectores que expresan la éster de cera acil-ACP sintasa y/o una acil-ACP reductasa formadora de alcoholes, las células hospederas recombinantes que expresan una éster de cera acil-ACP sintasa y opcionalmente, una acil-ACP reductasa formadora de alcoholes, y los sistemas para la producción de un éster de cera a través de una vía independiente de acil-CoA.
