Un aparato para usar en la electroproducción de metales, que comprende una pluralidad de ánodos (2) y una pluralidad de cátodos (1) en una configuración intercalada, en donde cada par de ánodo y cátodo forma una celda; una pluralidad de suministros de energía (9), cada celda asociada con uno o más suministros de energía respectivos; y los suministros de energía están dispuestos para controlar una corriente continua en una o más celdas a un valor predeterminado.
