Las fibras de vidrio tienen un diámetro de fibra promedio en el intervalo de 8 HT (2.03 µm) a 15 HT (3.81 µm). A una densidad (x) entre 4.805 kg/m3 (0.3 pcf) y 25.629 kg/m3 (1.6 pcf), el producto aislante puede alcanzar una conductividad térmica (y) menor que o igual a la que satisface la fórmula (III): Fórmula (III): y = 0.116x2 - 0.3002x + 0.4219.
