Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for obtaining Agave Lechuguilla leaf fibers and all species of the Agave genus with high strength and quality equal or better to the process of manual fiber carving. Herein, is considered the process for obtaining a fiber by an enzymatic process, where the first stage is the pretreatment of the sample, the second the depectinization and elimination of the cutin, and the third the drying process. The fibers of the present invention are useful for textile application, rugs, brushes, ropes, rugs, sacks, as well as an industrial fiber.
