Abstract
La presente descripción se relaciona con un método para separación de partículas sólidas a partir de un cuerpo de agua. Preferiblemente, la presente descripción se relaciona con un método, en donde se utiliza una combinación de sustancias químicas que incluyen uno o varios coagulantes y/o uno o varios floculantes para la separación de partículas sólidas, en donde los ejemplos adecuados de partículas sólidas son organismos vivos y materia inerte, en donde los organismos vivos incluyen autótrofos tales como fototrofos, los cuales son de naturaleza microscópica o macroscópica (algas). La descripción se esta manera se relaciona particularmente con un método de coagulación y floculación química para separar partículas sólidas, preferiblemente ya sea algas o bacterias o ambos, a partir de un cuerpo de agua. La presente descripción también proporciona un método alternativo en donde el método mencionado antes de coagulación y floculación se combina con electro-coagulación y/o estrategias de modulación de pH para separación de las partículas sólidas, en cualquier secuencia.
