Abstract

La presente invención se relaciona con una composición de fluido que comprende un triglicérido, que tiene por lo menos un residuo de ácido graso ramificado alfa, en donde cada residuo de ácido graso ramificado alfa comprende por lo menos una cadena de alquilo saturada o mono-insaturada que tiene un número total de átomos de carbono que va de 12 a 20, y en donde el triglicérido tiene por lo menos uno de: (a) un punto de inflamación de por lo menos 185°C, (b) un punto de combustión de por lo menos 230°C, (c) un punto de vertido de -25°C o menor, o (d) una combinación de los mismos. La composición de fluido puede ser útil, por ejemplo, como un fluido dieléctrico y/o como un fluido de transferencia de calor en transformadores y otras aplicaciones de dispositivos eléctricos.
