Abstract

The present disclosure is related to a novel biotechnological process to obtain natural biogas (methane gas), which can be used as an adequate input for the electrical energy production or as a heat source. Residual sludge was used as raw material originated from vegetable tanned leather processors. The generated natural biogas (methane), is the result of the biotechnological process method used to treat the residual sludge, in which a combination of a porcine inoculum is used under certain conditions of: temperature, pH, time, and mechanical effect, leading to the generation of a mixture of gases, which are filtered and subjected to a purification process to obtain the natural biogas (methane).
