Abstract
Se describe un método para la acilación catalizada con ácido de una isohexida. El método puede permitir la acilación directa de alcoholes con ácidos carboxílicos. En particular, el método implica hacer reaccionar una isohexida y un exceso de ácido carboxílico, en presencia de un catalizador de ácido de Lewis tolerante a agua. Los catalizadores de ácido de Lewis tolerantes a agua pueden proporcionar rendimientos de diéster relativamente altos (p. ej., = 55%-60%) a cargas de catalizador inferiores. Esta característica, entre otras, es altamente deseable para el ahorro de costes, y puede mejorar la economía del procedimiento.
