Description

BAG FOR THE CONTAINMENT OF LIQUID PRODUCTS PRODUCERS OF GASES, IN PARTICULAR YEAST DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is a bag for the containment of liquid products that emit gases, in particular yeasts for the manufacture of bread.
In the following description specific reference will be made to yeast, but it is to be understood that the invention can be applied to any liquid product or paste which during storage emanates gases.
In the production phase, the yeast is always in the liquid state and, for putting it on the market, in most cases, it is subsequently dehydrated in order to transform it into a powder form or in the form of solid cakes. In the use phase the yeast once again has to be returned to the liquid form.
In recent times, there has been a tendency to produce and pack the yeast directly in liquid form, which is convenient from a practical and economical point of view since during use the phases of transformation from the liquid state to the solid state during the production and vice versa.
The problem in the storage of liquid yeast is that it emanates a considerable amount of gas, in particular C02, of up to 1 -3 liters per day for a container of 1 0/20 liters.
They are therefore necessary bags, which on the one hand are very permeable to gases and on the other have the necessary resistance to sustain the weight of the contents, these bags normally having a capacity of 1 0/20 liters.
In order to satisfy these needs, therefore, "double wall" bags have been proposed, that is to say, they have an internal film based on polyethylene highly permeable to C02, with very thin thicknesses (30-50 microns) and therefore both with low mechanical resistance, and an external film constituted by a nylon-based laminate, with a thickness of 80-150 microns, suitable to confer the necessary mechanical strength to the bag.
The outer film, which is not permeable, has a plurality of small holes to allow the exit of the gases that permeate through the inner film.
The bag form in this way is placed inside a cardboard box in such a way as to constitute a so-called bag-in-box container that can be easily handled.
Bags of the type mentioned above have not proved satisfactory since despite the provision of perforated outer film, an unsatisfactory release of the gases tending to inflate the bag has been observed.
This is due to the fact that when the bag filled with liquid yeast is inserted into the cardboard box, it adapts to the box, causing a pressure contact between the outer surface of the bag and the internal walls of the box. , apart from the upper space of the bag that remains free.
This pressure contact causes a strong adhesion between the inner and outer plastic films of the bag, practically covering the holes provided in the outer film and thus preventing the exit of the gases, which tend to accumulate in the upper part of the bag. bag, where they have difficulty leaving due to the small perforated surface of the outer film that is not in contact with the inner wall of the container box.
The object of the invention is to eliminate the aforementioned disadvantages of the prior art.
More particularly, an object of the invention is to provide a bag for liquid yeast that allows complete and rapid degassing of the product contained therein.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a bag that is simple and inexpensive to manufacture.
The bag according to the invention has the features of the attached independent claim 1.
The suitable embodiments of the invention are described in the dependent claims.
Substantially the bag according to the invention, of the so-called double-walled type, comprises an inner film based on high permeability polyethylene and an outer reinforcement laminate based on nylon, where at least on the upper part of each face of the bag, between the inner film and the outer film, at least one spacer element is provided between these films attached perimetrally to an opening formed in the outer film and provided with holes for gas release.
Suitably this separating element comprises a perforated body having a perimetral edge heat-sealed to the outer film and a possible seat for housing a cover or lid, also perforated.
Preferably, the inner film of the bag is a co-extruded LLDPE of 30 μ? (28 g / m2), while the outer film is a laminate comprising a layer of OPA (nylon) of 1 5 μ? (1 7 g / m), placed between two layers of coextruding LLDPE-EVA of 38 μ? (35 g / m2).
The outer layers with polyethylene base LLDPE (linear low density polyethylene) allow the heat sealing of the outer film to the inner film, also with a polyethylene base, and the heat sealing of the separating elements to the film outside, while the intermediate layer of OPA (oriented polyamide) confers tenacity to the bag.
Other characteristics of the invention will be made clearer by the following detailed description, which refers to one of its modalities merely by way of a non-limiting example illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a schematic plan view of the bag according to the invention.
Figure 2 is an enlarged sectional view taken along the line II-II of figure 1, which includes only one side of the bag.
Figure 3 is a section enlarged to a lesser extent with respect to Figure 2, taken along the line III-III of Figure 1.
Figure 4 is a schematic perspective view of the bag of Figure 1.
With reference to these drawings, the bag according to the invention, for the containment of liquid products that emit gases, in particular yeast, has been denoted by the reference number 1.
It consists of two opposite faces 2, joined by means of thermal perimeter seal 3, which runs parallel to its outer edge 4.
In the attached drawings the bag 1 is illustrated in a rectangular form, which is the simplest to make, but it is clear that it can have any other shape.
The bag 1 is of the so-called double-walled type, in the sense that each of its two opposite faces 2 comprises two films, an internal 5 and an external 6, separated one from the other and joined only in said sealing perimeter line with heat 3.
On one of the two faces 2 of the bag 1 a nozzle 7 is applied to fill / supply the product, which has a circular flange 8 sealed internally to the corresponding face 2, while the nozzle 7 projects through a hole formed on this face, and is closed by a lid 20.
The inner film 5 of the double wall of the bag has high gas permeability, in particular to the C02 which is produced in a large amount by the yeast contained in the bag, > 50 1 / m2 atm day. It has a polyethylene base, for example, a coextruded LLDPE and has a very thin thickness (about 30 microns) in order to be able to obtain the high permeability values mentioned above.
Such a single film would be very fragile and therefore subject to easy breaking.
Therefore, the outer film 6 is assigned the task of conferring resistance to the bag and preventing easy breaking.
This outer film 6 is normally a laminate with several layers, comprising for example: - a first layer of 38 microns of LLDPE-EVA coextruded from 35 g / m2; - a second layer of 1 5 microns of OPA (nylon) of 17 g / m2; - a third layer of 38 microns of LLDPE-EVA coextruded from 35 g / m2; Naturally, the number of layers of the laminate constituting the outer film 6 may be different from that illustrated, as long as they contain a layer with high tenacity, such as the OPA (nylon) layer and at least one outer layer based on polyethylene, in order to allow the performance of the. perimetral sealing with heat 3, as well as the heat sealing of the base 8 of the nozzle 7, and the heat sealing of the separating elements 1 0 between the inner film 5 and the outer film 6 of each side 2 of the bag 1 , as will now be described in more detail.
In fact, to prevent the two films from adhering to each other when the bag 1 is inserted in a container box (bag in box) normally made of cardboard, at least in the upper part of each side 2 of the bag, Substantially at the level of the supply nozzle 8, a separating element 10 is placed which on the one hand allows the films 5 and 6 of the corresponding face 2 to be kept spaced apart and on the other hand the gas, in particular C02, to be released through the outer film 6.
In Figures 1 and 4 the spacer element 10 to the left of the nozzle 7 is provided on the front face of the bag, while the element to the right of the nozzle, on a dotted line in Figure 1, on the front side of the bag. the back face.
Referring to the enlarged section of Figure 2, it is noted that the spacer element 10 has a base body 1 1 with a seat 1 2 for housing a cover or lid 1 3, and a perimeter border 14, sealed to the inner surface of the outer film 6.
According to the embodiment illustrated in Figure 2, holes 1 7 are provided both in the base wall 1 5 and in the side wall 1 6 of the base body 1 1, and corresponding holes 1 8, 28 are provided in the lid 1 3 , so that the gas, in particular carbon dioxide, produced by the yeast contained in the bag 1, which penetrates through the inner film 5, can be evacuated by passing through the holes 1 7, 1 8, 28 mentioned above and an opening 1 9 or corresponding holes provided in the outer film 6 in said lid 1 3.
The separating element 10 shown in Figure 2 is obtained by modifying a one-way degassing valve of the same applicant, from which a diaphragm has been removed which prevents the flow of gas from the outside to the interior and in which the additional holes 1, 7, 28 have been formed.
However, it is clear that the separating element 10 can take any configuration, without detriment to its function of keeping the films 5 and 6 apart and allowing the release of gas therethrough.
More particularly, in the illustrated embodiment, the lid 1 3 can be removed since it is not necessary to provide a plurality of holes in the outer film 6 instead of a single opening 1 9.
Practical tests have shown that a single separating element such as that described and illustrated, placed on each side 2 of the bag 1, at the top of the bag, where the gases emanated by the product contained in the bag tend to accumulate , it is enough to evacuate the C02 released by the yeast.
However, it is clear that, if necessary, several spacer elements 10 may be provided on the opposite faces of the bag 1.
Although, according to the invention, the outer film 6 is offered as continuous, that is, without holes, it is clear that it could also be perforated, like those of the prior art.
In this case several spacer elements 10 could be provided, not perforated, distributed on the surface of the faces of the bag, suitable for keeping the films 5, 6 away and allowing the gas to be released through the holes provided in the outside film 6.
From what has been revealed the advantages of the invention seem clear, which allows, with simple and economic means, the complete and rapid release of the C02 gas produced by the liquid contained in the bag 1.
Naturally, the invention is not limited to the particular embodiment described above and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, but instead numerous changes in the details can be made thereto within the scope of the person skilled in the art, without depart from the scope of the same invention as defined in the appended claims.
