Description

CASE TO SHAVE FIELD OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to methods and systems for shaving hair. More particularly, the present invention relates to shaving systems having shaving trays for storing a shaving machine and containing a shaving aid, shaving machines having protective elements for retaining and applying shaving aid to the skin, and methods for shaving. to use such razors and shaving systems.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Typically, men and women shave their bodies by applying a layer of shaving aid such as a gel, cream, soap, or lotion with their hands to the area of the skin to be shaved. Then, the user shaves their skin with a wet razor. The wet razor is periodically rinsed in water to remove cut hairs that get trapped in the wet razor. This method of shaving requires the user to purchase a can or shaving aid tube and a wet shaving machine, which may be a shaving machine or a shaving system having a disposable cartridge. The shaving tube or can provides enough shaving aid for many shaves and exceeds the life of several disposable razors and / or disposable cartridges.
The aforementioned shaving method has several drawbacks. First, this shaving method requires a consumer to buy and apply more shaving aids than necessary. For example, some consumers will have to shave when they are on a business trip or vacation. Currently, strict airport policies related to sharp carry-on items, such as leaves as well as limitations on the amount of liquid toiletries permitted, have created a serious problem for the frequent and occasional traveler. Some travelers prefer to buy shaving aids and razors when they arrive at their destination rather than having to deal with the problem of carrying such items on an airplane. Although relatively inexpensive razors are available, consumers can also purchase a can or shaving aid tube, which can be expensive, especially if the shaving aid is needed only for a couple of shaves. The can or shaving aid tube contains a superabundance of shaving aid, which is typically discarded with the disposable razor when the traveler returns home. If the consumer prefers to carry his shaving supplies with him, the shaving aid container (s) add weight and volume that can be used for other toiletries. The typical traveler does not need a full container of lotion, unless he is away from home for a long period of time.
Typically, when the consumer shaves, he applies an excess of shaving aid to his hand and rubs it on the skin. This process is messy and produces the waste of a large amount of shaving aid, so the consumer needs to wash their hands before holding their razor. Therefore, shaving aid is wasted in every shave, which is not very economical. The rinsing process also creates problems if there is no running water available easily, or if you try to conserve water. For example, the availability of running water may be scarce for consumers who go on outings or camp in uninhabited places away from modern comforts. Consumers in certain regions of the planet, such as emerging markets may also have limited access to any type of water. In some cases, water is not readily available. For example, consumers who are constantly in a hurry need to shave in atypical places such as in a car or public transport. The process of applying the shaving aid is messy, it is not suitable for consumers who are in a hurry and shave on the road. Due to these reasons, some consumers tend to use an electric razor or completely postpone shaving, even when, ideally, the appearance and feel of a smooth, shave-like shave is preferred.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION In one aspect, the invention generally features a razor having a handle, a cartridge mounted to the handle and a pair of primary protective covers attached to the cartridge, each of the primary protective covers having a plurality of fins defining a plurality of fin slots. The razor further includes one or more razor blades mounted on the cartridge and located adjacent to the pair of primary protective covers. A protective shaving aid retainer cover is located between the pair of primary protective covers. The shaving auxiliary retention protective cover has a plurality of walls defining a plurality of protective grooves, wherein a width of the protective grooves is greater than the width of the fin grooves.
In another aspect the invention generally presents a razor having a handle, a cartridge with a proximal end portion and a distal end portion mounted to the handle. One or more razor blades are mounted to the cartridge and a shield is attached to the distal end portion of the cartridge. The protector has an elongated slot defined by a proximal wall, a distal wall and a pair of side walls, wherein the elongated slot has a width to length ratio of about 1: 10 to about 1: 25.
In yet another aspect, the invention generally presents a shaving system having a shaving machine, a shaving tray and a shaving aid container. The razor has an elongated handle, a cartridge mounted to the elongated handle, and a shaving auxiliary protective cover attached to the cartridge. The shaving tray has a first portion sized to receive the razor during storage and a second portion defining a receptacle. The shaving aid container is located inside the receptacle.
In yet another aspect the invention generally presents a shaving method comprising the steps of placing a razor cartridge having a protective cover in a shaving aid container, retaining the shaving aid with the protective cover, the razor cartridge against an area of the skin to be shaved, apply the shaving aid to the area of the skin with the razor cartridge by compressing the protective cover and shaving the skin area by moving the cartridge for the razor Shave through the skin area.

In certain embodiments the length of the rinse container 208 may be about 35 mm, 45 mm or 55 mm to about 65 mm, 75 mm or 85 mm. The second receptacle 208 may also have a height that generally corresponds to a width of the cartridge 16 that can prevent excess water or rinsing solution from reaching the handle 14 (not shown). In certain embodiments the height of the second receptacle 208 may be from about 10 mm, 12 mm or 14 mm to about 20 mm, 30 mm or 40 mm. The shaving tray 200 may be similar to the shaving tray 50 as described above and is shown in Fig. 3A, however, the receptacle 206 and the rinse container 208 of the shaving tray 200 may be located within the portion for storing the razor 210 or the generally open area 216. The location of the receptacle 206 and the rinsing container 208 away from the distal end portion 204 may allow the shaving tray 200 to hold the shaving aid container 22. without having to increase the overall length of the shaving tray 200.
With reference to Figs. 3D and 3E, alternative embodiments of 3D and 3E shaving trays are shown to illustrate that a shaving tray 250 and 300 may have a receptacle 258 and 306 (respectively) for the shaving aid 22 and / or a second receptacle 308 located on a lower surface 252 and 302 of the respective shaving tray 250 and 300. Any of the embodiments described within this application may include one or more receptacles for the shaving aid container 22, one or more containers for rinsing solutions, or any combination of these. One or more receptacles and / or containers may be located on a top surface (as shown in Figs. 3A, 3B and 3C) or a bottom surface (as shown in Figs 3D, 3E) of a shaving tray , in a distal end portion (as shown in Figs 1 and 3A) of a shaving tray, in a proximal end portion of a shaving tray, within a portion for storing the razor (as shown in Figs. shown in Figs 3B and 3C) of a tray, or any combination thereof. The location of the receptacles 258, 306 and 308 on the undersurface of the shaving tray 250 and 300 can decrease the overall and lateral length of the tray, which makes the shaving system more compact.
With reference to Fig. 4A, an alternative embodiment of a shaving system 70 is illustrated which may include the wet razor 12 and a flexible shaving aid package 72, such as a tube. The shaving aid 74 may have a viscosity greater than that of the shaving aid container 22 as described above. The viscosity of the shaving aid 74 (or shaving aid in the shaving aid container 22) can be similar to a toothpaste or gel, such that the protective cover for retaining the shaving aid 18 can apply and retain a strip of the shaving aid 74. In certain embodiments, the shaving aid 74 may have a viscosity of about 2000, 10,000 or 25,000 centipoise at about 50,000, 75,000 or 250,000 centipoise at room temperature (approximately 23 degrees Celsius). In other embodiments, the shaving aid 74 may have a viscosity of about 10, 50 or 100 centipoise at about 150, 250 or 500 centipoise at room temperature (about 23 degrees Celsius).
A user can release the shaving aid 74 from the flexible shaving aid pack 72 on the protective shaving aid retaining cover 18. The cartridge 16 can then be placed against an area of the skin to be shaved. As the cartridge 16 passes along the surface of the skin, the shaving aid retaining protective cover 18 can apply the shaving aid 74 just before one or more sheets 42 shaving the area. The shaving aid 74 can be applied to the skin while one or more sheets 42 shave the skin. Alternatively, the user may first pass only the protective shaving aid retention cover 18 against the area of the skin to be shaved. The protective shaving auxiliary retention cover 18 can apply the shaving aid to the entire area to be shaved before the blades 42 contact the skin. Then, the user can contact the cartridge 16 and one or more sheets 42 against the surface of the skin and proceed to shave the area. The user can periodically rinse the cartridge 14 as needed. The flexible shaving aid package 72 or the shaving aid container 22 may be used with the shaving aid retaining cover 18 of the wet shaving machine 12 or any of the embodiments described in this application.
As shown in Figs. 4B and 4C, the shaving system 70 (Fig. 4A) may further include a shaving tray 75 and one or more shaving aid envelopes 71. One or more envelopes 71 may be used in place of the shaving tube. shaving aid 72 shown in Fig. 4A. The shaving tray 75 may have a top surface with a portion of the wet razor, which contains or stores the razor 12 (not shown) when the shaver 12 (not shown) is not found In use. The envelopes 71 can be detachably joined together and mounted to a lower surface of the shaving tray 75. The user can detach or remove one of the envelopes 71 for each shave. Shaving tray 75 may include a removable cartridge 77 having one or more envelopes 71 interconnected with each other and mounted to the removable cartridge 77. The removable cartridge 77 can be removably mounted to the lower surface of the tray 75. The envelope (s) 71 may have a part detachable or removable top 73, as shown in Fig. 4C for dispensing the shaving aid 74. The removable top 73 may be sized to spread a narrow band of shaving aid 74 to a protective element (such as the protective cover). retention aid for shaving 18 shown in Fig. 4A). Alternatively, the removable top 73 may be sized to spread a wider shaving aid band 74 to cover a width of the cartridge 16 (not shown) which may include components other than the protective cover, such as one or more sheets.
Referring to Fig. 5, there is shown a perspective view of the shaving aid retaining protective cover 18. The shaving aid retaining protective cover 18 may have a front wall 78, a rear wall 76, and a pair of side walls 80 and 82. The front wall 78, the rear wall 76, and the pair of side walls 80 and 82 can define an elongated slot 84 for retaining the shaving aid. The front wall 78 and the rear wall 76 can have a length of about 25 mm, 30 mm or 35 mm to about 40 mm, 45 mm or 50 mm. A distance from the front wall 78 to the rear wall 76 can be from about 1.5 mm, 2 mm or 2.5 mm to about 3 mm, 3.5 mm or 4 mm. The elongated slot 84 can have a width ratio of length of about 1: 5, 1: 7 or 1: 10 to about 1: 15, 1: 20 or 1: 25. The height of the front wall 78 and the rear wall 76 can each be from about 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm or 2.0 mm to about 2.5, 3.0 or 3.5 mm to help retain the shaving aid. A short height creates a surface depth of groove that does not have the ability to retain enough shaving aid. In certain embodiments the elongated slot 84 can be inclined from the front wall 78 to the rear wall 76 such that the height of the front wall 78 is greater than the height of the rear wall 76, which can help to retain and apply the ( the) auxiliary (s) for shaving. The protective shaving aid retention cover 18 can be made of a porous material. In certain embodiments, the shaving aid retainer cover 18 can be injection molded into the cartridge 16 (not shown) or can be joined with other assembly processes such as adhesives or press fit designs.
With reference to Fig. 6, an alternative embodiment of a cartridge 100 that can be used to apply a shaving aid is shown. A front portion of the cartridge 100 may include a pair of primary protective covers 102 and 104 and a protective shaving auxiliary retention cap 106 located between the pair of primary protective covers 102 and 104. One or more sheets 108 may be mounted to the cartridge 100. between a cap 110 in a rear portion of the cartridge 100 and the pair of protective covers 102 and 104 in the front portion of the cartridge 100. The pair of protective covers 102 and 104 may each have an element of skin stretch, such as a plurality of fins 112 and 114 extending parallel to one or more sheets 108. The plurality of fins 112 and 114 can stretch a surface of the skin to be shaved to provide a more shave. The cartridge 100 can be rotatably connected to an interconnect member 116 that can assist in mounting the cartridge 100 to a handle (not shown), similar to the handle 14 and cartridge 16 as described above. The auxiliary shaving aid retaining cover 106 may also be used in addition to or in place of the cap 110, therefore, the cartridge 100 may also include a plurality of shaving auxiliary retention protective covers 106 or the cartridge 100 may have the cover protective shield for shaving aid 106 in the rear portion of the cartridge 100.
Referring to FIG. 7, there is shown a perspective view of the protective shaving auxiliary retention cover 106. The shaving auxiliary retaining protective cover 06 may have a proximal end portion 118 and a distal end portion. 120. The proximal end portion 118 and the distal end portion 120, each may have a length of about 25 mm, 30 mm or 35 mm to about 40 mm, 45 mm or 50 mm. The proximal end portion 118 may define a series of generally circular depressions 122 located along a length of the proximal end portion 118 of the protective shaving auxiliary retainer cover 106. The distal end portion 120 may have a front wall 124, a rear wall 126 and a plurality of intermediate walls 128, 130 and 132 that extend, generally, the length of the distal end portion 120. The plurality of intermediate walls 128, 130, 132 and 134 may define a plurality of elongated slots 136, 138. , 140 and 142. A height of the front wall 124, the rear wall 126 and the plurality of intermediate walls 128, 130 and 132 can each be from about 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm or 2.0 mm to about 2.5, 3.0 or 3.5 mm to help retain the shaving aid. A short height creates a surface depth of groove that does not have the ability to retain enough shaving aid.
With reference to Figs. 8A and 8B, there is shown a cross-sectional view of the protective shaving auxiliary retainer cover 106, taken, generally, along line 8-8 of FIG. 7. The protective auxiliary retainer cover for shaving 106 may have a first compressed position (Fig. 8B) and a second or uncompressed position (Fig. 8). The protective shaving auxiliary retainer cover 106 may be in the neutral position when the cartridge 100 is inserted into a shaving aid container (as shown in Fig. 2) or when the shaving aid is applied to the tube 72. or envelope 71 (as shown in Figs 4A and 4C). The shaving aid retaining cover 106 may be in the compressed position when the cartridge 100 is pressed against the surface of the skin during shaving.
The distal end portion 120 of the shaving aid retaining cover 106 may have a generally circular body from which the intermediate walls 128, 130, 132 and 134 extend. Although four intermediate walls 128, 130, 132 and 134, more or less intermediate walls can be used. A distance between intermediate walls 128, 130, 132 and 134 may be from about 0.2 mm, 0.3 mm or 0.55 mm to about 0.7 mm, 0.9 mm or 1.0 mm when the protective shaving auxiliary retention cover 106 is in the neutral position . The neutral position allows the shaving aid retainer cover 106 to absorb more shaving aid. The shaving aid can be trapped within the generally circular depressions 122 and the plurality of elongated slots 136, 138, 140 and 142. In addition, a slot 144 can be defined by the rear wall 126 and the intermediate wall 136 trapping auxiliary for shaving. A distance between the adjacent intermediate walls 128, 130, 132 and 134 can also be known as slot width. The groove width of the shaving auxiliary protective cover 106 can be larger than the groove width of the pair of protective covers 112 and 114 (Fig. 6), to trap or contain more shaving aid. In certain embodiments the width of the separation of the shaving auxiliary protective cover 106 can be about 1.5, 2 or 3 times to about 4, 5 or 6 times as large as the width of the groove of the torque of protective covers 112 and 114 (Fig. 6).
The generally circular depressions 122 of the proxirrial end portion 118 may be directly adjacent to the back wall 126. The circular depressions 122 may further have a neutral position (Fig. 8A) and a compressed position (Fig. 8B). In the neutral position, the generally circular depressions 122 may have a radius of about 0.15 mm, 0.3 mm, or 0.55 mm to about 0.7 mm, 0.9 mm or 1.0 mm. In the compressed position, the generally circular depressions 122 can compress from about 25%, 30%, or 40% to about 50%, 75% or even 100%. The shaving aid retaining cover 106 may be made of an elastomeric material or may be made of a porous material that facilitates compression and release of the shaving aid. The shaving aid retaining protective cap 106 may have a Shore A hardness of about 10, 20 or 30 to about 60, 70 or 80. In certain embodiments, the protective shaving aid retaining cap 106 may be injection molded into the cartridge 100 (Fig. 6) or can be joined with other assembly processes such as adhesives or press fit designs.
The circular depressions 122 and the plurality of slots 136, 138, 140 and 142 can facilitate the retention of shaving aid when the cartridge 100 (not shown) is inserted into a shaving aid container 22 (as shown in FIG. 2) or when the shaving aid is applied to tube 72 or about 71 (as shown in Fig. 4A and 4C). The depressions 122 and the intermediate walls 128, 130, 132 and 134 can inhibit the release of the shaving aid when the cartridge 100 (not shown) is placed against the surface of the skin to be shaved. A force of the shaving aid retaining cover 106 that is pressed against the surface of the skin can compress the intermediate walls 128, 130, 132 and 134 closer together and release the shaving aid. In certain embodiments the intermediate walls 128, 130, 132 and 134 can be compressed in such a way that they come in contact with each other to force the shaving aid of the elongated slots 136, 138, 140, 142 and 144 and on the surface of the skin. . The generally circular depressions 122 may be further compressed to release the shaving aid during shaving.
If desired, optionally, you can practice particular modalities separately or together. For example, the shaving method may use any of the cartridges with previously described shaving aid retaining protective covers or the shaving system may include any of the cartridges with aforementioned shaving aid retaining protective covers.
