Abstract

La presente invención se refiere en general a nuevos polipéptidos recombinantes que tienen propiedades de citocina aviar y a las secuencias genéticas que las codifican. Más particularmente, la presente invención se dirige a polipéptidos de interferón Tipo III aviar recombinante, y a las secuencias genéticas que los codifican, junto con los sistemas de expresión celular y usos para los mismos. Incluso más particularmente, la presente invención se dirige al interferón- (IFN-) aviar y sus derivados funcionales, homólogos y fragmentos del mismo y a los métodos de uso de los mismos. Las moléculas y las células de la presente invención son útiles en una amplia gama de aplicaciones, incluyendo sin restricción, proporcionar un medio para el tratamiento y profilaxis de condiciones de enfermedad, en particular condiciones de enfermedad aviar, o para utilizarse como un modulador de la respuesta inmunitaria. También se proporcionan medios de diagnóstico para la selección de la respuesta inmunitaria y los medios de selección para la identificación de moduladores de la funcionalidad de proteína o ácido nucleico de IFN-.
