Abstract

Se describe un sistema reflejante de peso ligero para la concentración de la radiación solar en el cual la óptica reflejante es aproximadamente sinusoidal en la sección transversal y se mantiene en esta forma por el contacto mínimo con un marco de soporte. El reflector puede ser una lámina flexible rectangular deformada en un seno generalmente sinusoidal por compresión entre los soportes de extremo fijo o ajustable. El sinusoide se puede ajustar para ser menor que medio ciclo por la torsión aplicada a cada extremo de la lámina flexible. Una película reflejante, de metal pulido, o de material similar sobre la superficie del reflector puede concentrar la luz del sol a lo largo de una banda difusa más que una línea definida, proporcionando niveles de concentración mejorados para celdas fotovoltaicas. Los reflectores y sus marcos de soporte se pueden montar de manera sencilla o en conjunto en un dispositivo de rastreo que maximiza la salida instantánea de energía al orientar los recolectores hacia el sol.
