Abstract

Se carga un material carbonoso de lecho H sobre una solera de un horno de solera rotativa 14, se colocan pelets conteniendo material carbonoso D conteniendo en polvo mineral de hierro A y carbon en polvo B sobre el material carbonoso de lecho H, y la solera se hace entrar en el horno de solera rotativa 14 para calentar y reducir los pelets conteniendo material carbonoso D a hierro reducido solido F y para calentar y secar el material carbonoso de lecho H por destilacion a residuo de carbon G. Posteriormente, el hierro reducido solido F y el residuo de carbon G se cargan en un horno de fusion de hierro 16 sin enfriarse sustancialmente, y se sopla gas oxigeno a horno de fusion de hierro 16 para fundir el hierro reducido solido F, obteniendo por lo tanto hierro fundido K. Al menos una parte de los gases de escape M del horno de fusion de hierro 16 se usa como un gas combustible para el horno de solera rotativa 14 despues de ser enfriado y haber quitado el polvo.
