Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un artículo cmpuesto de metal fundido tal como un pistón para motor, que comprende un cuerpo hecho de un metal y un piston miembro de inserto de preforma, caracterizado en que dicho metal se selecciona del grupo que consta de aluminio, magnesio, zinc y sus aleaciones, y en que el miembro de inserto de preforma se hace de un material de fibras de cerámica que se inserta dentro de dicho cuerpo, para aumentar la resistencia a la fatiga térmica y mejorar las características al desgaste y la resistencia elástica del artículo dicho miembro de inserto de preforma de material de fibras de cerámica, tiene más de una porción diferente de fibras de cerámica, con al menos una de dichas porciones diferenciándose en sus características de orientación y densidad preseleccionadas de las otras porciones para lograr una unión altamente confiable entre el cuerpo del artículo y el miembro de inserto de preforma.
