Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para procesar acero inoxidable laminado en frío, en una forma de una tira o una lámina, el método comprendido: someter el acero a calentamiento por inducción eléctrica de flujo transversal de manera substancialmente uniforme a través de su anchura, a una temperatura de recocido en la escala de hasta 1260 grados C, para producir de esta manera sobre el acero un espesor de capa de óxido de 2000 Angstroms o menos; desescamar electrolíticamente el acero sometiéndolo a la acción de un baño que consiste esencialmente de agua más 15 a 25 por ciento en peso de sulfato de sodio, manteniendo a una temperatura en exceso de 66 grados C y con el uso de densidad de corriente de más de 46.6 amperios por decímetro cuadrado durante un tiempo suficiente para desescamar el acero de manera substancialmente completa; y luego procesar adicionalmente el acero mediante frotación con cepillo, enjuague con agua y secado sin el uso de un tratamiento de decapado con ácido, para producir un producto de acero inoxidable recocido y desescamado.
