Abstract

The invention relates to the funeral articles, namely to coffins for interment, which also may be used in crematoria during ceremonies of farewell to the deceased.The coffin, according to the first variant, contains a body (1), including a bottom (2), lateral walls (3) and fastened thereto frontal walls (4) and a cover (6) tightly fixed onto the top edges (5) of the lateral walls and provided with guide elements (7). Novelty consists in that the body (1) and the cover (6) are made of gas-filled polymeric material, the bottom (2) and the lateral walls (3) of the body (1) are formed as a single whole, at the same time onto the outside of the bottom (2) and onto both lateral walls (3), in their lower parts there are made transverse grooves (8) placed with the same step, wherein there are placed strengthening bands (9). The guide elements (7) of the cover (6) are made in the form of longitudinal protrusions, the outside lateral surface of which is conjugated to the inside of the lateral walls (3) of the body (1).The coffin, according to the second variant, is characterized in that the cover (6) is made demountable in the middle part, along the transverse line (10), and the guide elements (7) of each part of the cover (6) are made in the form of longitudinal protrusions, the outside lateral surface of which is conjugated to the inside of the body lateral walls.The body (1) and the cover (6) may be made of gas-filled polymeric material of rigid type or integral type, with a monolithic surface layer on base of polyurethane or polystyrene, or polyvinylchloride. Their outside may be made with a decorative coat, and the body (1) and the cover (6) are joined by means of an adhesive tape.The frontal edges of the lateral walls and of the bottom are placed into a U-shaped notch, made onto one of the sides of the frontal wall, being fastened to it by means of an adhesive tape.The body (1) is provided with bearing elements, which may be made of one piece with the body.As strengthening elements there may be used belts.Onto the lateral walls (3) of the body (1), in the points of placement of the strengthening bands (9) there are fixed handles (11), which may be made decorative. The handles (11) also may be fixed on the ends of the strengthening bands (9).
