Abstract

The present invention relates to the most suitable design for cleaning industrial effluents on a real scale. According to the invention, it is a continuous flow reactor obtained thanks to a new design of the bioadsorbent in the form of composite beads. The invention relates more particularly to a process for manufacturing composite balls forming a porous matrix based on sodium alginate and the powder of marble waste. The composite beads comprise functional groups capable of retaining substances dissolved in said effluent. Below we describe the preparation process for the Sodium Alginate / Marble Waste Composite Beads. Sodium alginate is a natural anionic polymer obtained from brown algae, of crude formula nac6h7o8, it is a chain made up of coo- carboxyl groups and of the sodium ion na + (figure 1). Sodium alginate has been used extensively to trap adsorbents in environmental applications due to its ability to form hydrogels with multivalent cations. Marble waste powder refers to hard-tissue or crystalline calcium carbonate. The marble waste powder has shown a removal efficiency of over 99% with very fast kinetics.
