The necessary openings, perforations and other punchings as vvell as various creases and other bending lines can be formed on the blank 1 by stamping, for instance.DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION A blank 1 shovvn in Fig. 1 can be formed, for instance, from a board suitable for packing material or, in some cases, from a corrugated board. The blank 1 can be formed from one sheet-like piece. The necessary openings, perforations and other punchings as well as various creases and other bending lines can be formed on the blank 1 by stamping, for instance.

[0017] The blank 1 may comprise a bottom 2, a first lateral vvall 3, a first cover part 4, a second lateral vvall 5 and a second cover part 6. The lateral vvalls 3 and 5 can be combined by means of bending lines 7 and 8 vvith the opposing sides of the bottom 2. Further, the first cover part 4 can be joined by means of a bending line 9 vvith the first lateral wall 3 and, respectively, the second cover part 6 can be joined by a bending line 10 vvith the second lateral vvail 5. If the package contains bottles, the bottom 2 can be vvider than the cover constituted by the cover parts 4 and 6 and the lateral vvalls 3 and 5 may have bending lines 11 allovving upper parts 3a, 5a ofthe lateral vvalls 3, 5 to be bent invvards so that the upper part of the package supports the upper part of the bottles in the package. The upper part of the lateral vvalls 3, 5 may further comprise openings 12, on vvhich the upper parts of the bottles to be packed can be supported. The bottom 2 of the multipackage may also comprise necessary elements for keeping the product packages inside the multipackage. Such elements may include, for instance, edge flaps 13, vvhich may be joined by bending lines 14 vvith the end parts of the bottom 2 and further by means of bending lines 15 vvith the lovver part 3b, 5b of the lateral vvalls, as shovvn later in Figurē 5. During assembly the edge flaps 13 may constitute edges at the ends of the bottom 2 in a manner shovvn in Figurē 2, the edges supporting the contents of the package and being capable of strengthening the structure of the lovver part of the multipackage. On the bottom 2 of the blank 1 there may be openings 16 or similar elements for supporting the product packages. The first cover part 4 may comprise one or more handle flaps 17, vvhich may be joined by means of a bending ine 18 vvith the cover part 4. The second cover part 6 may, for its part, comprise openings 19 in the location corresponding to the handle flaps 17 vvhen the multipackage is in an assembled state, whereby the handle flaps 17 can be pushed through the openings 19 from the outer surface of the multipackage to the inner surface of the multipackage vvhen the multipackage is grabbed. The handle flaps 17 and the openings 19 may thus form a certain kind of handle structure on the cover ofthe multipackage. The blank 1 may comprise a bottom 2, a first lateral vvall 3, a first cover part 4, a second lateral vvall 5 and a second cover part 6. The lateral vvalls 3 and 5 may be combined by means of bending lines 7 and 8 vvith the opposing sides of the bottom 2. Further, the first cover part 4 can be joined by means of a bending line 9 vvith the first lateral wall 3 and, respectively, the second cover part 6 can be joined by a bending line 10 vvith the second lateral vvail 5. If the package contains bottles, the bottom 2 can be vvider than the cover constituted by the cover parts 4 and 6 and the lateral vvalls 3 and 5 may have bending lines 11 allovving the upper parts 3a, 5a ofthe lateral vvalls 3, 5 to be at least invvards so that the upper part of the package supports the upper part of the bottles in the package. The upper part of the lateral vvalls 3, 5 may further comprise openings 12, is vvhich the upper parts of the bottles to be packed can be supported. The bottom 2 of the multipackage may also contain the necessary elements for keeping the product packages inside the multipackage. Such elements may include, for instance, edge flaps 13, vvhich may be joined by bending lines 14 vvith the end parts of bottom 2 and further by means of bending lines 15 vvith the lovver part 3b, 5b of the lateral vvalls, as shovvn later in Figure 5. During assembly the edge flaps 13 may form edges at the ends of the bottom 2 in a manner shovvn in Figure 2, the edges supporting the contents of the package and being able to enhance the structure of the lovver part of the multipackage. On the bottom 2 of the blank 1 there may be openings 16 or similar elements for supporting the product packages. The first cover part 4 may cover one or more handle flaps 17, vvhich may be joined by means of bending ine 18 vvith the cover part 4. The second cover part 6 may, for its part, consist of openings 19 in the location corresponding to the handle flaps 17 vvhen the multipackage is in an assembled state whereby the handle flaps 17 can be pushed through the openings 19 from the outer surface of the multipackage to the inner surface of the multipackage vvhen the multipackage is grabbed. The handle flaps 17 and the openings 19 may thus form a kind of handle structure on the cover ofthe multipackage.

[0018] Furthermore, the outer iong edge of the first cover part 4 of the blank 1 according to Figurē 1 may comprise one or more fastening protrusions 20, vvhich may comprise a Central part 21 and fastening flanges 22 on both sides of the Central part 21. A bending line 23, such as a perforation or a crease, may be preformed betvveen the Central part 21 and the fastening flanges 22. On the upper part of the second lateral wall 5 there may be one or more fastening openings 24, the location of vvhich in the longitudinal direction of the multipackage essentially corresponds to the location of the fastening protrusion 20. The Central part 21 of the fastening protrusion 20 can be sized so that it can be pushed through the fastening opening 24 substantially vvithout deformation. Instead, the fastening flanges 22 of the fastening protrusion 20 are arranged to bend at the bending iines 23 vvhen the fastening protrusion 20 is pushed through the fastening opening 24. The fastening protrusion 20 and the fastening opening 24 constitute shape locking means, by vvhich the multipackage can be enclosed around the product packages and free gifts to be arranged inside the package. The cover of the multipackage can be provided vvith various handle and locking structures. Alternatively the cover may have a handle structure vvhich is attached separately thereto or the handle structure may be part of the same blank as the rest of the package structure. At their simplest, the handles may be openings in the cover or the cover may comprise a handle member that can be pulled out.Further, the outer iong edge of the first cover part 4 of the blank 1 according to Figure 1 may comprise one or more fastening protrusions 20, and may comprise a central part 21 and fastening flanges 22 on both sides of the Central part 21. A bending line 23, such as perforation or crease, may be preformed betvveen the central part 21 and the fastening flanges 22. On the upper part of the second lateral wall 5 there may be one or more fastening openings 24, the location of the vvhich in the longitudinal direction of the multipackage essentially corresponds to the location of the fastening protrusion 20. The fastening protrusion 20 and the fastening opening 24 form shape locking means, by vvhich the multipackage can be enclosed around the product packages and free gifts to be arranged inside the package. The cover of the multipackage can be provided vvith various handle and locking structures. Alternatively the cover may have a handle structure vvhich is attached separately thereto or the handle structure may be part of the same blank as the rest of the package structure. At their simplest, the handles may be openings in the cover or the cover may comprise a handle member that can be pulled out.

[0019] The package blank 1 according to Figurē 1 may be provided vvith a support member 25 for a free gift. The support member 25 may be formed on the first lateral vvall 3 of the multipackage. Alternatively the support member 25 can also be formed on the second lateral vvall 5 of the multipackage or, if the ends of the multipackage also have lateral vvalls, the support member 25 can be formed thereon. The same blank 1 may also have one or more support members 25. The support member 25 may be separated from the lateral vvall by means of a cut 26 and it may be connected by a bending line 27 to the lateral vvall so that it can be bent invvards to the multipackage at the bending line 27. When the support member 25 is in a bent position, an opening is formed on the lateral vvall of the multipackage. The support member 25 may further comprise a second bending line 28 and a third bending line 29 allovving parts 30 and 31 of the support member 25 to be bent in a manner shovvn in Figurē 2 such that a planar supporting surface is formed, on vvhich the free gift can be arranged. The part 31 thus constitutes a vertical foot part forthe planar supporting surface. The support member 25 may also comprise a fastening part 32, vvhich may be supported on the inner surface of the bottom 2. The fastening part 32 may be shaped in such a manner that it may be supported on the product packages to be arranged inside the multipackage.
