Abstract

악기 제작자들간에는 악기 제조용 향판재의 경우 오랜 기간 충분히 천연건조된 에이징(aging)재가 좋다는 것은 다 알려진 사실이다. 음향학자들은 적어도 3년에서 100년 간을 기건 상태에 잘 보관하도록 권장하고 있으며 일본의 경우 고급 그랜드피아노 제조용 향판재는 6-8년을 보관하고 있으나 보관비 및 향판재의 이자를 고려하면 원가에 미치는 압력은 상당하다. 바이올린이나 키타 제조업자들은 잘 보관된 가문비나무 향판재를 몇 해나 에이징 시켰는가에 따라서 가격을 서너배 이상으로 더 주고 사게 된다. 그러나 인공건조된 향판재를 몇 10년 이상 잘 보관하기는 경제적으로나 현실적으로 극히 어렵고 특히 대량샌산의 경우 몇 년 정도도 매우 힘에 겨운 것이다. 국내 피아노제조산업의 경우 인공건조된 향판재를 에이징시키는 경우는 거의 없으며 대부분 바로 사용할 수밖에 없는 처지이며 그나마 질 좋은 향판지 수종도 점차 구하기 어려운 설정이다.
따라서 본 발명은 악기용 향판재의 음향적 성질을 에이징재와 동등이상으로 단시간내에 개선시키거나 저급향판재를 보다 질을 개선시키는 방법으로 인공건조된 향판재를 열처리 하므로써 향판재의 질을 개선하는 방법이다. 음향개선 열처리는 강도가 떨어지고 변색이 되는 치수 안정화 열처리(예 : 255℃ 1시간, 180℃ 7일, 120℃ 1년, Stamm et al, 1946)보다 처리량이 훨씬 낮은 영역대에서 (224℃ 20분, 180℃ 2일) 음향적 성질이 각각 12.6%, 17%정도 개선될 뿐만 아니라 곡강도(NOR)는 각각 12.3%, 0.1%, 경도는 각각 37.7%, 221.58%로 각각 증가시킨다. 따라서 이 원리를 이용하여 향판재의 음향적 성질을 단시간 내에 크게 개선시키는 방법에 관한 것이다.

  1. 본문에서 상술한 바와 같이 악기용 향판재의 음향적 성질을 단시간내에 개선시키는 방법으로 1) 음향개선 열처리는 강도가 떨어지고 변색이 되는 치수 안정화 열처리(예 : 255℃ 1시간, 180℃ 7일, 120℃1년, Stamm et al, 1946)보다 처리량이 훨씬 낮은 영역대에서 (224℃ 20분, 180℃ 2일) 음향적 성질이 각각 12.6%, 17%정도 개선될 뿐만 아니라 곡강도(NOR)와 경도 증가시키므로 이 원리를 활용하는 방법
