Abstract
본 발명은 양방향 무선VOD(Video On Demmand) 시스템에 있어서, 가입자와 중앙 제어국 사이에 각종 제어 정보를 전달할 때 제어 신호를 영상 신호와 분리하여 송수신하는 셋탑박스에 관한 것으로, 가입자의 제어 정보를 송수신하는 방식으로 800MHz 대역으로 TRS 통신 방식, 양방향 페이징 통신 방식, CDPD, CDMA, PCS 통신 방식중 어느 한가지를 사용하는 셋탑박스를 제공하기 위하여, 종래의 셋탑박스에 있어서, 외부의 중앙 제어국이나 비디오서버로부터 마이크로파의 영상 정보를 수신하여 복조 수단으로 출력하는 무선 수신 수단; 및 외부의 중앙 제어국으로부터 TRS 통신 방식, 양방향 페이징 통신 방식, CDPD, CDMA, PCS 통신 방식 중 어느 한가지 통신 방식으로 제어 신호를 입력받아 제어 수단으로 출력하고, TDRL 제어 수단을 통하여 가입자 제어 정보를 입력 받아 TRS 통신 방식, 양방향 페이징 통신 방식, CDPD, CDMA, PCS 통신 방식중 어느 한가지 통신 방식으로 외부의 중앙 제어국이나 비디오 서버로 출력하는 데이터 처리 수단을 더 구비하여, 시스템을 구축하는데 비용이 저렴하며, 수십 GHz대역의 주파수대를 사용하지 않으므로 주파수 지원의 효율적 이용이 가능하고, 초고주파수 송수신 장치에 대한 비용과 일반 공중통신망을 이용하므로써 생기는 전화비용등이 추가 비용이 들지 않는 경제적인 효과가 있다.The present invention relates to a set-top box which transmits and receives a control signal separately from a video signal when transmitting various control information between a subscriber and a central control station in a two-way wireless VOD (Video On Demmand) system.
