Abstract

The aging formation of precipitate in Green tea and Oolong tea beverage is effectively prevented by the economic adsorption filtration aid. Green tea and Oolong tea extract are obtained by a hydrothermal extration method. The extract are treated with a mixture of polyvinylpolypyrrolidone, silica gel and bentonite being used in an amount of 0.01 to 1.0 wt% based on the extract weight, respectively. The mixture may further comprise one adsorption filtration aid selected from a group consisting of gelatin, tartaric acid, potassium hydride, fuller's earth and silicon dioxide, wherein the content is used in a range of 0.01 to 1.0% based on the extract weight, respectively. The catalytic reaction of the tea extract and the treating material is processed by stirring during 10 min to 2 h. Upon the completion of reaction, the tea extract is subjected to vaccum filtration, centrifugation or filtration using 0.5 to 5 um filter.
