Abstract

Process for preparing a granular organic siliceous fertilizer having a particle size of 0.5-2.0mm consists of i)mixing 55-97 parts of quick-coolig slag with 3-45 parts of amino acid by-product for 10 min to 1 hr followed by stirring at a speed of 30-35 rpm and adding 10 wt.% of acid selected from surfuric acid, phosphoric acid and hydrochroric acid, based on the total weight of quick-cooling slag, ii)drying at 60-100 deg.C. Quick-cooling slag is composed of 40-45 wt.% of calcium oxide, 3-6 wt.% of magnesium oxide, 28-35 wt.% of soluble silisic acid.
