최근 심각한 사회문제로 대두되고 있는 환경오염에 관하여 관련산업전반에 걸쳐 오염방지처리 및 재활용방안이 모색되고 있음이 작금의 추세인바, 이의 파급은 축산업에 이르기까지 오염방지 처리시설을 필수로 설치해야하는 상황에 있으며 특히 축산업에서 가장문제가 되는 가축사육에 따른 분뇨의 처리방식에 대해 과중한 문제를 안고 있으며 이에 대한 해결방안의 일환으로써 현재까지 시행되고 있는 일반적인 분뇨처리기술을 살펴보면, 이의 방법으로는 자연건조방식과 열풍건조방식으로 대별할수있으며 전자의 경우는 넓은 면적의 대지에 분뇨를 확산분포하여 이에 발효제를 혼합하거나 또는 자연적으로 건조시켜 퇴비로 이용하는 방식으로써 이는 건조시간 및 경비가 많이 소요되고 악취 및 각종잡균의 번식으로 인해 또다른 대기오염을 유발하여 우량의 퇴비를 제조키 어려운 문제가 있으며, 후자의 경우는 분뇨를 수장한 탱크내에 일정시간(약 100일 정도)동안 썩혀서 이를 발효한 후 열풍에 의해 건조시키는 방식으로 이는 발효 및 제조과정에 복잡할 뿐만 아니라 수분이 증발됨에 따라 분뇨가 서로 엉키며 고형화되어 이후로 완전한 수분증발을 이룰수 없고, 이와같이 고형화된 분뇨는 재차분쇄에 의해 처리해야 하고 잔존해 있는 수분을 원심 탈수 등으로 수분제거를 행하여 왔으나 탈수시 가축분이 수분과함께 섞여 나오는 등의 제문제가 있어왔다.The recent trend is that pollution prevention treatment and recycling methods are being sought throughout the related industries regarding environmental pollution, which is emerging as a serious social problem, and the spread of this is necessary to install pollution prevention treatment facilities as well as livestock industry.
