Claims (7)

  1. 입자형 초고분자량 폴리에틸렌(UHMWPE)을 액체스티렌 단량체와 혼합하는 단계, 이 혼합물을 가열된 주형에 장입하는 단계, 및 단량체를 중합화 시키는 단계를 포함하는 UHMWPE로 구성되는 성형품의 제조방법에 있어서, 상기 혼합물이 스티렌 단량체중에 35내지 80%의 UHMWPE입자로 구성되는 분산액이고, 촉매량의 자유라디칼 비닐 중합촉매를 함유하며, 상기 주형이 UHMPEW를 상기 단량체에 용해시킨후 스티렌단량체를 고체중합체로 중합화 시키기에 충분한 온도를 가열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 주형의 가열이 2단계로 수행되며, 제1단계는 열량분석 주사곡선상의 발열표시로서 나타나는 바와 같이 UHMWPE가 스티렌단량체중에 용해하여 겔을 형성하는 온도에서 수행되고 제2단계는 스티렌단량체의 중합이 개시되는 고온에서 수행되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  3. 제1항 또는 제2항에 있어서, 상기 주형이 먼저 120내지 125℃로 가열된후 155내지 165℃로 가열되는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  4. 제1항, 제2항 또는 제3항에 있어서, 상기 스티렌단량체중의 UHMWPE분산액이 스티렌단량체를 포함하여 액체단량체 20내지 65%와 단량체 총중량을 기준으로 약 10%까지의 적어도 하나의 자유라디칼 비닐 중합성 단량체를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  5. 제1항 내지 제4항중 어느 한항에 있어서, 상기 혼합물이 분자내에 한지점 이상의 자유라디칼 중합성비닐 불포하를 갖는 가교결합단량체를 부가로 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  6. 제1항 내지 제5항중 어느 한항에 있어서, 상기 스티렌 단량체가 4-메틸스티렌인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
  7. 제1항 내지 제6항중 한항에 있어서, 상기 자유라디칼 비닐 중합성 단량체가 부틸메타크릴레이트인 것을 특징으로 하는 방법.
