As technology development and demand for mobile devices such as smartphones, laptops, and digital cameras increase, technologies related to secondary batteries capable of charging and discharging are becoming more active. In addition, secondary batteries are an alternative energy source for fossil fuels that cause air pollutants, and are used in electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (P-HEVs) and energy storage devices (ESSs). etc. are applied.
Types of secondary batteries that are currently widely used include lithium ion batteries, lithium polymer batteries, nickel cadmium batteries, nickel hydride batteries, nickel zinc batteries, and the like. Such a unit secondary battery cell may configure a battery module by connecting a plurality of battery cells in series or parallel according to the required output voltage or charge/discharge capacity, and by adding additional components using such at least one battery module It is common to manufacture battery packs.
These battery packs have various circuit boards as needed, such as a PCM (Protection Circuit Module) board capable of controlling charging/discharging of battery cells or protecting battery cells, and a sensing board for sensing voltage. this may apply.
In general, a fuse element is provided on such a circuit board to prevent fire or explosion of a battery pack due to overcurrent or short-circuit current, and there are types of fuse elements such as SMD fuses and pattern fuses.
1 is an exploded perspective view of a battery pack including a circuit board on which a pattern fuse according to the prior art is formed.
According to FIG. 1 of Patent Document 1 (Korean Laid-Open Patent Publication No. 2020-0129461), a fuse pattern having a function of blocking overcurrent or short-circuit current is formed on a circuit board instead of a fuse element.
That is, in a battery pack including a plurality of battery cells C1, C2, and C3, a
Since the fuse pattern F is located between the
However, the pattern fuse of Patent Document 1 has a conductive pattern embedded in an insulating film, and there is a risk of ignition due to the insulating film at a temperature high enough to operate the pattern fuse.
Meanwhile, a typical patterned fuse is manufactured by applying an adhesive on a lower film, depositing a thermally conductive metal layer on the adhesive, and applying a coating agent on the upper film in a state where the upper film is laminated on the metal layer.
Therefore, although the circuit pattern is disconnected when the temperature is high enough to operate the pattern fuse, it is difficult to accurately predict the disconnection portion of the circuit pattern, which makes it difficult to secure operational reliability.

In addition, according to the pattern fuse and method for manufacturing the same of the present invention, a coating layer containing a low endothermic material is provided above a predetermined region of a circuit pattern, so that when the pattern fuse operates, the circuit pattern in contact with the low endothermic coating layer is selectively applied. There is an advantage in that operation reliability can be increased because it can be disconnected.
In addition, according to the pattern fuse and the manufacturing method of the present invention, since the circuit pattern is made of different metals having different melting points or resistivities, there is an advantage in that the disconnection portion can be more accurately controlled during operation of the pattern fuse.
In addition, when the pattern fuse of the present invention is mounted on a circuit board, the process of mounting the fuse disconnection indicator can be omitted, thereby contributing to improving the efficiency of the circuit board manufacturing process.

It is a drawing to explain what it looks like.
Referring to FIGS. 2 to 4, the
First, the
In particular, as the material of the
The
Here, the
The
In addition, the
Of course, the thickness of the
Next, the
Meanwhile, as shown in FIG. 2 , an
The
As described above, when the pattern fuse operates, the temperature rises to such an extent that the material constituting the
Of course, it is also possible to use a material having excellent flame retardancy for the film layer covering the circuit pattern, but there is a problem in that the cost increases accordingly because even a portion without a circuit pattern must be provided.
Here, as the material of the coating layer, it is preferable to use a flame retardant material having electrical insulation and a V-0 rating based on the UL94 V test, which is one of the flame retardant tests of plastic materials.
The UL 94 V test evaluates the combustion pattern of the product and the degree of flame propagation to the surroundings when a flame is applied to the plastic product in the vertical direction. Among them, the V-0 grade is the most flame retardant grade.
Here, the flame retardant material means a material having improved flame retardancy by adding a flame retardant and various additives to a polymer resin composition.
Polyurethane, urethane, epoxy, acrylic, etc. are known as polymer resins that can be used as such flame retardant materials.
Of course, various additives commonly included in the flame retardant material to form the coating layer, for example, glass fibers or spherical silica for improving flame retardancy, alone or in combination with inorganic fillers may be further included.
On the other hand, when the width of the
5 is an exploded perspective view schematically illustrating a pattern fuse according to a second preferred embodiment of the present invention. Except for the circuit pattern and the coating layer, the rest of the configuration is the same as that of the first embodiment, so only these different configurations will be described below.
In the second embodiment of the present invention, a specific part of the
When the pattern fuse operates, the temperature rises enough to melt the material constituting the
In other words, the
As a material for the
A low-endothermic material means a material with low endothermic properties. As such a low-endothermic material, various known low-endothermic materials can be used. It is preferable to have lower heat absorption and thermal conductivity than mead (Polyimide, PI), polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), or polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
Specifically, it may be polyurethane, urethane, epoxy, acrylic, etc., and in particular, urethane-based, polyurethane-based, or mixtures of polyurethane and polyacrylic with low heat absorption and thermal conductivity are mainly included. The material is preferred, and a thermal conductivity of 0.10 W/mK or less is more preferred, and 0.05 W/mK or less is most preferred.
According to the second embodiment as described above, there is an advantage in that operation reliability as a fuse can be increased because the disconnection portion can be constantly adjusted. That is, thermal conduction characteristics may be different depending on positions such as the left, middle, or right side of the pattern fuse, and accordingly, the cut-off operation time in case of overcurrent may be different depending on which part is disconnected.
As a result, this means that there is no consistency in operating characteristics, so the reliability of the fuse is inevitably lowered. However, the pattern fuse of the present invention can lead to disconnection at the same location all the time, so it can contribute to increasing the reliability of operation.
On the other hand, when the
6 is an exploded perspective view schematically illustrating a pattern fuse according to a third preferred embodiment of the present invention. Except for the circuit pattern, the rest of the configuration is the same as that of the second embodiment described above, so only these different configurations will be described below.
The
Here, the
When the
Of course, by adjusting the length or thickness of the
Next, a method of manufacturing the pattern fuse of the present invention will be described.
The method of manufacturing the above-described pattern fuse includes the first step of preparing the
Meanwhile, for the

Also, in the fifth step of forming the
Here, as described above, the material constituting the

Of course, when forming the pattern fuse on the circuit board, in some cases, the
