Rel.13 LTE supports up to 16 CSI-RS antenna ports enabling a gNB to be equipped with a large number of antenna elements (such as 64 or 128). In this case, multiple antenna elements are mapped to one CSI-RS port. Also, up to 32 CSI-RS ports will be supported in Rel.14 LTE. For next-generation cellular systems, such as 5G, it is expected that the maximum number of CSI-RS ports will remain approximately the same.
For mmWave bands, although the number of antenna elements can be larger for a given form factor, the number of CSI-RS ports - which may correspond to the number of digitally precoded ports - is As shown in
To enable digital processing, efficient design of CSI-RSD is an important factor. For this reason, three types of CSI reporting mechanisms corresponding to three types of CSI-RS measurement operations are supported in Rel.13 LTE: ) 'CLASS' corresponding to non-precoded CSI-RS A' CSI report, 2) 'CLASS B' report using K=1 CSI-RS resources corresponding to UE-specific beamformed CSI-RS, 3) corresponding to cell-specific beamformed CSI-RS Report 'CLASS B' using K>1 CSI-RS resources. For non-precoded (NP) CSI-RS, cell-specific one-to-one mapping between CSI-RS ports and TXRUs is used. Here, different CSI-RS ports have the same wide beam bandwidth and direction, and thus generally have cell wide coverage. For beamformed CSI-RS, cell-specific or UE-specific beamforming operation is applied on non-zero-power (NZP) CSI-RS resources (including multiple ports). Here, (at least at a given time/frequency) CSI-RS ports have narrow beam bandwidths and thus do not have cell wide coverage, and (at least from the gNB perspective) at least some CSI-RS port-resource combinations have different beam directions. have
In scenarios where DL long-term channel statistics can be measured over UL signals at the serving gNB, UE-specific BF CSI-RS can easily be used. This is generally feasible when the UL-DL duplex distance is sufficiently small. However, when this condition does not hold, some UE feedback is used for the gNB to obtain an estimate (or one of its representative values) of DL long-term channel statistics. To enable the above procedure, the first BF CSI-RS is transmitted with periodicity T1 (ms), and the second NP CSI-RS is transmitted with periodicity T2 (ms), where T1 = T2. This approach is named hybrid CSI-RS. Implementation of the hybrid CSI-RS is largely based on the definition of resources of the CSI process and NZP CSI-RS.
In Rel.10 LTE, UL SU-MIMO transmission is supported using a codebook-based transmission scheme. That is, a UE grant (comprising DCI format 4) contains a single PMI field (along with RI) indicating the single precoding vector or matrix (from a predefined codebook) that the UE will use for the scheduled UL transmission. include Therefore, when multiple PRBs are allocated for the UE, a single precoding matrix indicated by the PMI means that wideband UL precoding is used. Despite its simplicity, this is obviously sub-optimal because the typical UL channel is frequency-selective and the UE is frequency-scheduled to transmit using multiple PRBs.
Another drawback of Rel.10 LTE UL SU-MIMO is the lack of support for scenarios where accurate UL-CSI cannot be used in the gNB (required to make codebook-based transmission work properly). This situation may occur in scenarios with bursty inter-cell interference in high-mobility UEs or cells with poor isolation.
Therefore, it is necessary to design new components that enable more efficient support for UL MIMO for the following reasons. First, support for frequency-selective (or subband) precoding for UL MIMO is desired whenever possible. Second, UL MIMO must provide competitive performance even when accurate UL-CSI cannot be used in the gNB. Thirdly, the proposed UL MIMO solution must be able to use UL-DL reciprocity where CSI-RS is used by the UE to provide UL-CSI estimation for TDD scenarios.
In this disclosure, unless otherwise stated, the terms Precoding Matrix Indicator (PMI) and transmit PMI (TPMI) refer to an assigned precoder or precoder used by a UE for a scheduled UL transmission It may be used interchangeably to indicate a UL-related DCI field indicating a group. Similarly, unless otherwise stated, the terms rank indicator (RI) and transmit RI (TRI) indicate the number of assigned layers that the UE uses for scheduled UL transmissions. -Can be used interchangeably to indicate related DCI fields.
This disclosure includes at least four components that enable UL MIMO. A first component includes a method of constructing a precoded UL transmission. The second component includes embodiments supporting UL frequency-selective precoding. A third component includes a method for enabling reciprocity-based UL MIMO transmission. A fourth component includes a method for UL transmission using two waveforms. Names or terms used to indicate functions are examples, and may be replaced with other names or labels without changing the gist of the present embodiment.
For the first component (i.e. constructing a precoded UL transmission), dynamic and semi-dynamic beamforming, for one example embodiment enabling operation in various scenarios, are as follows: can be explained In one embodiment, dynamic beamforming is applied especially when accurate UL-CSI is available at the gNB or UE (eg, low UE speeds and good cell isolation or inter-cell interference coordination) It is possible. In this case, the UE can transmit data through a narrow directional beam because accurate direction information can be accessed. For FDD, the gNB may signal selection of a beamforming or precoding vector/matrix (or vectors/matrices) to the UE through a DL control channel such as a UL grant. Upon receiving such precoding information, the UE will transmit the requested UL data to the gNB using the associated precoder or beamformer. This precoding information is dynamically updated by the gNB.
To support dynamic beamforming, codebook-based MIMO transmission can be used, where the UL grant (with the associated DCI) contains a single precoding information (PMI) field (along with the RI). This PMI indicates a single precoding matrix used by the UE for the scheduled UL transmission. Thus, one precoder or beamformer is applied to all scheduled PRBs for the UE.
Semi-dynamic beamforming is particularly useful when the UL-CSI quality at the gNB or UE is poor (e.g. at high UE speeds resulting in bursty inter-cell interference known as the flash-light effect). and poor cell isolation) are applicable. In this case, since the UE can indicate only approximate directional information (or a range of directional information), it is more advantageous for the gNB to transmit data through a group of directional beams. For this purpose, a precoder (beam) may be used that cycles within a group of beams in the time (across OFDM symbols) or frequency (across REs, RBs, or groups of RBs) domain. This approximate direction information may be signaled to the UE through a DL control channel such as a UL grant. This information can be an indicator of the type of long-term precoding information or a subset of precoders.
For semi-dynamic beamforming, a set of multiple precoders is used with a pre-determined cyclic pattern (or set of cyclic patterns). The cyclic pattern or set of precoders may be specified and signaled to the UE through a UL grant. The PMI field used for the dynamic beamforming may be extended to support semi-dynamic beamforming through precoder cycling. For rank-1 (layer 1) transmission, this semi-dynamic beamforming can be associated with transmit diversity such as SFBC or SFBC-FSTD applied to 2 or 4 beams, where the number of beams is UL It can be regarded as the number of antenna ports.
도 5는 UE1(502) 및 UE2(503)가 gNB(501)와 연결되는 예제 동작(500)을 설명한다. 5 illustrates an
In this disclosure, the terms 'dynamic beamforming' or 'semi-dynamic beamforming' are used for descriptive purposes. Other terms may be used to refer to the same methods and/or functions. For example, terms such as 'transmission mode 1 or A' and 'transmission mode 2 or B' - or 'transmission mode 1' and 'transmission mode 2' - may be used to indicate two transmission methods, respectively. These two transmission schemes can also be used with other transmission schemes.
As shown in FIG. 5, several optional embodiments are possible to configure a UE by using dynamic or semi-dynamic beamforming together.
In a first embodiment, the UE is semi-statically configured with dynamic or semi-dynamic beamforming via higher-layer (such as RRC) signaling. An example of this embodiment is to configure a transmission method or transmission mode through at least one RRC parameter. In this case, the value of the RRC parameter indicates whether the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming or semi-dynamic beamforming.
In a first embodiment, the PMI field that is part of the DCI included in the UL grant (as previously described above) may be used for both dynamic and semi-dynamic beamforming. The PMI field may signal different hypotheses based on whether the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming or semi-dynamic beamforming. When the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming, the PMI field indicates a precoding matrix or vector to be used by the UE for transmission of the granted UL data. When the UE is configured for semi-dynamic beamforming, the PMI field may indicate selection of a group of precoding matrices or vectors to be used by the UE for transmission of the granted UL data.
Table 1 gives an example in which a set of length-MO-time oversampled DFT vectors are used as a set of possible rank-1 precoders for M antenna ports. Thus, a set of (OM - 1) precoding vectors is useful. An RRC or higher-layer parameter indicating whether the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming or semi-dynamic beamforming is, for example, BeamformingScheme. When the parameter BeamformingScheme indicates 'Dynamic' (ie, dynamic beamforming), PMI = is a precoder for the UE to transmit UL data Indicates that you are requesting to (and should) use . When the parameter BeamformingScheme indicates 'Semi-dynamic' (ie, semi-dynamic beamforming), PMI = is a precoder group for the UE to transmit UL data (which contains a group of B contiguous precoders). Optionally, a group of B non-contiguous precoders may be used when the UL channel angular spread is large.

In the second embodiment, the UE is dynamically configured with dynamic or semi-dynamic beamforming through a UL grant transmitted on a DL control channel.
An example of this second embodiment is to use one DCI parameter indicating selection of a transmission method or mode (dynamic or semi-dynamic) to be used by the UE for transmitting the granted UL data. In this example, the PMI field that is part of the DCI included in the UL grant can be used for both dynamic and semi-dynamic beamforming. Based on the value of this DCI parameter (ie, whether the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming or semi-dynamic beamforming), a PMI field is also required. This PMI field indicates a precoding matrix or vector to be used by the UE for transmission of the granted UL data when the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming. When the UE is configured for semi-dynamic beamforming, the PMI field may indicate selection of a group of precoding matrices or vectors to be used by the UE for transmission of the granted UL data. This example can be described similarly to that described in Table 1. However, in this case, the higher-layer parameter BeamformingScheme may be replaced with a DCI field BeamformingScheme having a value of 0 (eg, semi-dynamic beamforming) or 1 (eg, dynamic beamforming). .
Another example of this second embodiment is to use only one PMI field as part of the DCI included in the UL grant. In this case, the B-bit PMI field (where, ) Given all N H possible hypotheses associated with ), some of the N H hypotheses Can be used to indicate precoder selection for dynamic beamforming, whereas the rest ( hypotheses) can be used to indicate a selected group of precoders for semi-dynamic beamforming. An example of this can be illustrated in Table 2. When compared with Table 1, Table 2 combines hypotheses from dynamic and semi-dynamic beamforming into one set indicated by the PMI field. For this example, the number of hypotheses associated with the PMI field is twice the number associated with the PMI field in the first example of the second embodiment as well as the first embodiment.

Optionally, a two-dimensional precoder or codebook (especially relevant for two-dimensional or rectangular array geometries) may be used. In this case, the precoder is a pair of indices, each representing one of the two dimensions. can correspond to An example rank-1 precoder similar to that described above can be described in Equation 3 (where and is defined in Equation 2). here, Wow denotes the number of ports in the first and second dimensions, respectively. Similarly, Wow denotes an oversampling factor in the first and second dimensions, respectively.

Optionally, a one-dimensional precoder or codebook designed for dual-polarized array configurations may also be used. In this case, a precoder using two identical parts (each part is associated with one polarization group) and co-phasing between the two polarization groups can be used. Similar to the above, an example one-dimensional 2M-ports (each of the two polarization groups contains M ports) rank-1 precoder can be described in equation (4). Here, K possible values of co-phasing are used.

Optionally, a 2D precoder or codebook designed for dual-polarization array configurations may also be used. Example similar to above 2D 2 -port (each of the two polarization groups is -includes ports) The rank-1 precoder can be described in Equation 5. The group of beams has three indices The three indices of the single PMI consisting of can be similarly defined in terms of

DL signaling embodiments that support switching between dynamic beamforming and semi-dynamic beamforming using any of the above codebook options are applicable, (because each precoder or codebook corresponds to a single PMI) It can be extended in a simple way.
For the second component (ie supporting UL frequency selective precoding), in the above embodiments relating to the first component, a single precoder to be used for UL transmission is indicated to the UE. Thus, for a single assignment, the same precoder is applied to all assigned RBs. Optionally, subband precoding can also be supported by signaling one PMI per subband through a UL grant in which one subband can include multiple consecutive RBs. In this case, the DCI field including the precoding information includes a plurality of PMIs, and each of the plurality of PMIs is associated with one subband and indicates selection of a precoder from a predetermined codebook.
6 illustrates example DL signaling for subband precoding and a UE procedure for interpreting a DCI field including N PMI PMIs (each associated with one subband) as the precoding information. The number of PMIs N PMI is interdependent with the subband size P SUBBAND of RBs. For a given UL resource allocation span (expressed in terms of number of RBs RA RB ), the number of PMIs can be derived as follows: . Thus, for a given UE resource allocation, the UL resource allocation may include multiple contiguous RBs (as shown in 601) or clustered RBs (as shown in 602). Therefore, the number of PMIs does not directly depend on the number of RBs allocated to the UE. Instead, it is dependent on the number of RBs starting from the lowest indexed RB to the highest indexed RB in the associated UE resource allocation. The lowest indexed RB and the highest indexed RB, respectively and If indicated, to be. Optionally, is the number of RBs included in the i-th cluster can also be used. The two examples given in FIG. 6 represent
As shown in FIG. 7, there are several DL signaling embodiments to support subband precoding. The following examples determine whether the associated DCI payload size having the number of subbands corresponding to the allocated RBs (and thus the number of subband PMIs) is fixed or variable, and whether all of the DCI included in the DCI are fixed or variable. Whether PMI components or at least some PMI components are signaled outside the DCI (or basic DCI), and / or the number of subbands corresponding to the allocated RBs (and thus the number of subband PMIs) is UL resource allocation They differ in some respects, such as whether they are fixed or variable based on . When the number of subband PMIs is fixed, the PMI granularity (subband size) is changed based on UL resource allocation. Conversely, when the PMI granularity (subband size) is fixed, the number of subband PMIs is changed based on UL resource allocation.
In the first embodiment 1 as shown by
In the second embodiment 2 as shown by DCIs 720, a second (or second- level) DL information is used. In this case, the subband size (the number of RBs per subband) is fixed. The location and size of this precoding information may be based on resource allocation indicated in the associated UL grant. In this case, the UE first receives the UL grant and decodes the DCI field indicating resource allocation. When decoding the resource allocation information, the UE decodes the second DL control information containing only precoding information. This precoding information indicates the precoder that the UE uses for each group (subband) of RBs and, accordingly, for the RB allocated to the UE. A DCI field including N PMI number of PMIs, which is the length precoding information, is variable and can be inferred from resource allocation information from the first DL control information. Therefore, the number of blind decoding attempts associated with the first DL control information is not increased.
In this embodiment, the first DL control information may be transmitted through an L1 DL control channel (similar to LTE PDCCH or ePDCCH) using C-RNTI or UE ID. The second DL control information may be transmitted separately from the first DL control information, wherein the position (in time and/or frequency domain) and/or payload size and/or MCS of the second DL control information Transmission parameters of the same second DL control information may be implicitly from the first DL control information (eg, from C-RNTI and/or some other UE-specific parameters) or explicitly (as a DCI field, the first DL control information indicated in the information) can be inferred. For the second DL control information, C-RNTI or UE ID may or may not be used. As shown by the DCIs 720 in FIG. 7, the length of the precoding information DCI field is such that the
The second DL control information may be transmitted through an L1 DL control channel (eg, similar to LTE PDCCH or ePDCCH - and thus may be regarded as a second-level DCI) or resources used for DL data transmission / It can be transmitted as part of a channel (similar to LTE PDSCH). The second DL control information is located in the same slot / subframe as the slot / subframe in which the DCI (or first-level DCI, other UL grant) is transmitted or in a different slot / subframe can Regardless of whether this second DL control information is transmitted in a second-level DCI form or a DL data channel transmission (similar to LTE PDSCH) form, a CRC is attached to information bits of the second DL control information, It may enable error detection in the UE.
In the third embodiment 3 as shown by
For example, when N PMI = 2 is used, only 2 PMIs (and thus 2 separate precoders) may be allocated to the UE. A first PMI indicates a precoder associated with a first subset of allocated RBs, and a second PMI has a second subset of allocated RBs different from the first subset, wherein the first and second subsets , the combination consists of all RBs assigned to the UE. Accordingly, the number of RBs allocated to each of the two subsets is variable (based on the resource allocation information). As a result, the size of the DCI associated with the UL grant is fixed, and the number of RBs associated with each of the two PMIs is variable. In this case, the number of blind decoding attempts associated with the first DL control information is not increased. As shown by the
For the third embodiment, several sub-embodiments related to the interpretation of each PMI together with the associated subband size can be described as follows.
In the first sub-embodiment, the set/subset of RBs associated with each of the N PMI subbands is changed when resource allocation (i.e. number of allocated RBs and/or locations of allocated RBs) changes. . However, for a given/fixed resource allocation, the set/subset of RBs associated with each of the N PMI subbands is fixed, predetermined, or configured through higher-layer signaling. This may be the bar shown in FIG. 6 as an example. That is, for a given number and/or location of RBs indicated in the UL resource allocation (RA) field, each subband consists of the same number and/or subset of PRBs. Therefore, no additional indication through the associated UL-related DCI and/or other DL signaling mechanism is required.
In the second sub-embodiment, the subband associated with the i th PMI (PMI i , where i =0, 1, ..., N PMI - 1) may be changed, and thus through the UL-related DCI Can be signaled dynamically. In this case, since the subband for one remaining PMI can be derived from the RA field and the rest of (N PMI - 1) subbands, only subbands for (N PMI - 1) PMIs can be signaled. There is a need. Thus, in addition to the N PMI PMIs/TPMIs, (N PMI - 1) additional fields (each indicating a subband associated with the (N PMI - 1) PMIs) are the UL-related Signaled via DCI. For example, when N PMI = 2 is used, one additional subband indicator field (for the first or second PMI) is signaled through the UL-related DCI. In one variation of this sub-embodiment, one of the two PMIs (denoted by PMI SB,1 ) is the additional subband indicator field (e.g., interpreted similarly to the 'best-M' number of subbands). , where the value of M can be dynamically signaled as part of the additional subband indicator field or through MAC CE, otherwise it can be semi-dynamically configured through higher-layer signaling) RB ( s), whereas other PMIs (indicated by PMI SB,2 ) can be used for all the assigned RBs (indicated in the Resource Allocation DCI field). A coder (wideband precoder) may be indicated. In another variation of this sub-embodiment, one of the two PMIs (denoted by PMI SB,1 ) is the additional subband indicator field (eg, interpreted similarly to the 'optimal-M' number of subbands). , where the value of M can be dynamically signaled as part of the additional subband indicator field or through MAC CE, otherwise it can be semi-dynamically configured through higher-layer signaling) RB ( s), whereas other PMIs (indicated by PMI SB,2 ) precoders that can be used for the remaining allocated RBs (indicated in the resource allocation DCI field) can instruct
To prevent any change in DCI size that may increase the number of UE blind decoding of DL control signaling, the size of the additional subband indicator field may be fixed or configured through higher layer signaling. Accordingly, the number of hypotheses (or additional hypotheses) associated with the subband indicator field may be fixed or configured through higher layer signaling. As an example, when N RB RBs are allocated to the UE (as indicated in the resource allocation DCI field), in order to maintain the number of subband hypotheses for PMI SB,2 to the maximum value of N HYP , as much as possible The number of subbands (a subset of N RBs RBs) may be fixed or may be hierarchically configured so as not to be greater than N HYP . If each of these possible subbands is of the same size in terms of the number of RBs, and the RBs in each subset are as contiguous as possible, then each of the possible subbands is approximately RBs may be included.
따라서 상기 2개의 서브셋들 각각에 대해 할당되는 RB들의 개수는 가변적이다 (상기 자원 할당 정보를 기반으로).In the fourth embodiment 4, the precoding information DCI field may acquire a maximum value of K possible values of N PMI , which is the number of PMIs. This embodiment can be regarded as a compromise between Embodiment 1 and Embodiment 3. In this case, the subband size (number of RBs per subband) may be variable based on resource allocation (locations of allocated RBs as well as allocation size). As an example, K =2 and In this case, the precoding information DCI field may include one PMI or two PMIs. When the precoding information DCI field includes one PMI, the UE will use the precoder indicated by the PMI for all allocated RBs of the UE. When the precoding information DCI field includes two PMIs, the first PMI indicates a precoder associated with the first subset of allocated RBs, and the second PMI is different from the first subset. Indicates a precoder having a second subset of RBs and being associated with a second subset of allocated RBs different from the first subset, wherein the first and second subsets, the combination being all RBs allocated to the UE consist of Accordingly, the number of RBs allocated to each of the two subsets is variable (based on the resource allocation information).
As a result, the size of the DCI associated with the UL grant is variable (can be one of two possible sizes), and the number of RBs associated with the PMI is variable. This increases blind decoding times in the UE, but only by a factor of 2. Embodiment 4 uses only two possible lengths of precoding information ( It can be described in a similar way to the
For any one of the above example embodiments for supporting subband precoding, in particular for embodiment 2 (DCIs 720 in FIG. 7), the second DL control information including subband PMIs is used , one additional hypothesis indicating that the UE may assume previously (or most recently) signaled precoding information (PMIs, wideband components or subband components) for the granted UL transmission It may be included in the DCI (or first-level DCI). This hypothesis may also indicate that the same precoder(s) (wideband and/or subband) signaled in the previously (or most recently) granted UL transmission may be used.
Several options for signaling this additional hypothesis are possible. First, this hypothesis can be associated with one code point of another existing UL-related DCI field. This is related, for example, when no precoding information is included in the DCI (or first-level DCI). Some example DCI fields include Resource Allocation, a DCI field indicating a transmission method, or UL DMRS information. Second, a dedicated 1-bit DCI field indicating whether precoding information (such as subband PMIs) second DL control information exists. Thirdly, when a dual-stage codebook is used (described below in this disclosure), the wideband (first-stage) PMI component is included in the DCI (or first-level DCI) and may be signaled in the 1st-PMI DCI field. In this case, this additional hypothesis may be included as one code point of the 1st-PMI DCI field.
Accordingly, when this additional hypothesis is detected in the UE, the UE decodes second DL control information including subband PMIs and assuming the previously (or most recently) signaled and received precoding information. don't try Since this method does not signal the second DL control information (which may include subband PMIs), for example, when the gNB / network does not require a change in UL precoders, DL control overhead reduction makes it possible
A change in Example 2 (DCIs 720 of FIG. 7 ) in which the above additional hypothesis is used can be described as 800 of FIG. 8 . In this example for explanation, the
Any of the above embodiments supporting subband precoding is applicable for dynamic beamforming, and thus may be combined with a mechanism for semi-dynamic beamforming (as illustrated in Tables 1 and 2). can That is, dynamic beamforming can be associated with a DL control signaling mechanism for subband precoding, whereas semi-dynamic beamforming is a DL control mechanism that directs a group of precoders for the purpose of precoder/beamformer rotation. have
In addition, when dynamic and semi-dynamic beamforming can be dynamically configured for a UE, either with a single precoder ("wideband" precoding) or higher-layer (RRC) signaling for all the assigned RBs Through this, it is possible to configure the UE with subband precoding. In this case, the RRC parameter is either "wideband" precoding (single precoder for all the assigned RBs) or subband precoding (multiple precoders, each for a subset of the assigned RBs) Used to configure the UE. As an example, the 2-value RRC parameter SubbandPrecodingEnabled may be used. When the value is 'TRUE' or 'ON', the UE is configured for subband precoding. In this case, a plurality of PMIs (including one PMI based on the above embodiment) may be used according to one of the four embodiments as described above for subband precoding. When the value is 'FALSE' or 'OFF', the UE is configured for "wideband" precoding. In this case, one PMI is used regardless of UE resource allocation.
The above example embodiments for signaling support enabling switching between dynamic and semi-dynamic beamforming as well as embodiments supporting subband precoding are single-stage precoder structures (and therefore single-stage codebooks) In addition, it is applicable with a dual-stage precoder structure (and thus a dual-stage codebook).
For the third component (i.e., embodiments using a dual-stage codebook based on a dual-stage precoder), the precoding vector or matrix is two indices (eg, and ), the first index indicates a wideband component, and the second index indicates a subband component. An example of the above precoder structure is (similar to the Rel.12 LTE DL MIMO codebook), where is a wideband (i.e. single stage-1 precoder) based on whether "wideband" precoding or subband precoding is configured for the UE. , Accordingly is used for all the allocated RBs), is a wideband or subband (i.e., a single stage-2 precoder , Accordingly may be used for other allocated RBs). Pairs of these indices corresponds to a precoder (vector or matrix) included in the configured precoding codebook. 1st precoder (its associated PMI value with) may correspond to a group of precoders, whereas a second precoder (its associated PMI value with) may correspond to a selection and linear combination of a group of precoders included in . In the case of a dual-polarization antenna, the second precoder (its associated PMI value with) can also include a co-phasing operation between the two polarization groups.
Also, a two-dimensional dual-stage precoder or codebook (especially relating to two-dimensional or rectangular antenna geometries) can be used. In this case, the first PMI value is two indices , each corresponding to one of the two dimensions. Thus, the corresponding precoder structure is It can be written as (similar to the Rel.13 LTE DL MIMO codebook). here, is wideband (i.e. single stage-1 precoder , also according to is used for all the allocated RBs), may be wideband or subband based on whether “wideband” precoding or subband precoding is configured for the UE (i.e., a single stage-2 precoder , also according to may be used for other allocated RBs). indices This group of corresponds to a precoder (vector or matrix) included in the constructed precoding codebook. 1st precoder is (the associated PMI value with) may correspond to a group of precoders, whereas a second precoder (its associated PMI value with) may correspond to a selection and linear combination of a group of precoders included in . In the case of a dual-polarized antenna, a second precoder (its associated PMI value with) can also include a co-phasing operation between the two polarization groups.
The following embodiments of a dual-stage precoder or codebook apply to both one-dimensional or two-dimensional precoders. For a two-dimensional precoder or codebook structure, the first PMI value is two indices may consist of Thus, the first-stage precoder has these two indices: may be related to
For example, in order to configure a UE compatible with dynamic or semi-dynamic beamforming for a dual-stage precoder, some optional embodiments similar to the embodiments described above and examples for a single-stage precoder are used. are possible For a dual-stage precoder or codebook, the pair of PMI values (Or for a two-dimensional precoder ) can provide normal support for both dynamic and semi-dynamic beamforming. When dynamic beamforming is configured, the PMI signaled to the UE is (About the 2D codebook consisting of) and includes When semi-dynamic beamforming is configured, the PMI signaled to the UE is only (About 2D precoder consisting of) only. The second precoder the value of (its associated PMI value with) indicates a group of precoders that the UE will perform rotation for UL data transmission of the UE.
In a first embodiment, the UE is semi-statically configured with dynamic or semi-dynamic beamforming via higher-layer (such as RRC) signaling. An example of this embodiment is to configure a transmission scheme or transmission mode through at least one RRC parameter. In this case, the value of the RRC parameter indicates whether the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming or semi-dynamic beamforming.
In this embodiment, the PMI field that is part of the DCI included in the UL grant may be used for both dynamic and semi-dynamic beamforming (as previously described above). The PMI field may signal different hypotheses based on whether the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming or semi-dynamic beamforming (i.e., whether the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming or semi-dynamic beamforming). or, more generally, based on the setting of a higher-layer parameter indicating whether it is configured with the first transmission scheme or the second transmission scheme). When the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming, the PMI field indicates a precoding matrix or vector to be used by the UE for transmission of the granted UL data. In this case, the PMI field is two indices (For the two-dimensional codebook, consisting of) and includes When the UE is configured with semi-dynamic beamforming, the PMI field may indicate selection of a group of precoding matrices or vectors to be used by the UE for transmission of the granted UL data. In this case, the PMI field of the same codebook contains only
For example, RRC or higher layer parameter BeamformingScheme is used to indicate whether the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming or semi-dynamic beamforming. When the parameter BeamformingScheme indicates 'Dynamic' (ie, dynamic beamforming), PMI = is a precoder for the UE to transmit UL data Indicates that you are requesting to (and should) use . The PMI pair is one PMI parameter It can be jointly encoded as , or it can be indicated separately as two parameters. When the parameter BeamformingScheme indicates 'Semi-dynamic' (ie, semi-dynamic beamforming), PMI = Is the UE for UL data transmission A group of precoders associated with (eg, ) indicates that you are requesting to use (will have to use). For a two-dimensional codebook, Is consists of
In addition, when dynamic or semi-dynamic beamforming can be semi-statically configured for a UE via higher-layer signaling, a single precoder for all the assigned RBs via higher-layer (RRC) signaling It is possible to configure the UE with (“wideband” precoding) or subband precoding.
In the second embodiment, the UE is dynamically configured for dynamic beamforming or semi-dynamic beamforming through a MAC control element (MAC CE) or through a UL grant transmitted on a DL control channel.
BeamformingScheme. An example of this second embodiment is (dynamic or semi-dynamic) indicating selection of a transmission scheme or mode (or more generally, a first or second transmission scheme) that the UE will use for transmitting the granted UL data. It is to use one DCI parameter. In this example, the PMI field that is part of the DCI included in the UL grant can be used for both dynamic and semi-dynamic beamforming. Based on the value of this DCI parameter (i.e., whether the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming or semi-dynamic beamforming, more generally, whether it is configured with the first transmission scheme or the second transmission scheme) ), the PMI field is also required. The PMI field indicates a precoding matrix or vector to be used by the UE for transmission of the granted UL data when the UE is configured with dynamic beamforming. When the UE is configured for semi-dynamic beamforming, the PMI field may indicate selection of a group of precoding matrices or vectors to be used by the UE for transmission of the granted UL data. DCI field BeamformingScheme having a value of 0 (for example, representing semi-dynamic beamforming) or 1 (for example, representing dynamic beamforming).
To enable subband precoding for a dual-stage precoder, the above embodiments and some optional embodiments similar to the examples of Figs. can be extended to accommodate a pair of (For the two-dimensional codebook, can be composed of) is wideband is a subband. in this case, (For the two-dimensional codebook, The number of bits associated with) remains the same regardless of the number of PMIs or UE resource allocation. That is, only one DCI field is used regardless of the number of PMIs or UE resource allocation. (For the two-dimensional codebook, which can be configured with ). Only the number of bits associated with may be adjusted or changed based on the number of PMIs or UE resource allocation. As a result, the precoding information is only one (For the two-dimensional codebook, consisting of) parameters and a number of ( Each value of RB corresponds to a group of two). In particular, for Embodiment 2 (720 in FIG. 7) in which second-level DL control information including subband PMIs is used, silver (For the two-dimensional codebook, Since) is a wideband, it may be included in the DCI (or first-level DCI). Since it is a subband, the sub-PMIs included in the second-level DL control information are for all subbands corresponding to the allocated UL resource includes
Any one of the embodiments supporting subband precoding is applicable for dynamic beamforming, and thus can be combined with mechanisms for semi-dynamic beamforming. That is, dynamic beamforming may be associated with a DL control signaling mechanism for subband precoding, whereas semi-dynamic beamforming may involve a DL indicating a group or set of precoders for the purpose of precoder/beamformer rotation. It has a control mechanism.
In addition, when dynamic and semi-dynamic beamforming can be dynamically configured for a UE, a single precoder ("wideband" precoding) for all the assigned RBs via upper-layer (RRC) signaling or It is also possible to configure the UE with subband precoding. In this case, the RRC parameter is either “wideband” precoding (single precoder for all the assigned RBs) or subband precoding (multiple precoders, each for a subset of the assigned RBs) Used to configure the UE.
For the fourth component above (ie, supporting reciprocity-based UL transmission), when UL-DL channel reciprocity is feasible, such as for TDD scenarios, the UE determines the UL channel from measuring the DL CSI-RS. estimates can be obtained. In this case, the UE can calculate its own precoder for a given resource allocation. This eliminates the need to signal the precoder information DCI field over the DL control channel.
Thus, in one embodiment (4.1), the DCI of the UL grant may include only the number of transmission layers (ie, transmission rank) without any PMI. However, even if the UE can obtain an estimate of the UL channel to derive its precoder, this precoder calculation is based on the presence of UL interference information (basically intra-cell interference that can only be obtained at the gNB through SRS measurement). It should be noted that may be inaccurate due to . This is particularly relevant when UL multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO). To address this problem, several embodiments are proposed in this disclosure - any one or several combinations may be used.
In another embodiment (4.2), the same or similar precoding information as described in component 2 or 3 can be used. That is, the DCI for the UL grant includes precoding information including one or multiple PMIs based on whether “wideband” or subband precoding is configured and/or UE resource allocation. All embodiments of the precoding information DCI field given in component 2 or 3 are applied.
In another embodiment (4.3), a precoding information DCI field containing only a single field is signaled over the DL control channel. This single field may indicate a group or set of precoders. This set of precoders can be extracted from a predefined codebook and defined as a subset of all precoders included in the codebook. This precoder subset selection may be performed for each rank value indicated to the UE through the transmission RI or TRI. In this case, for a given value of RI (or TRI), the PMI (or TPMI) indicates a precoder subset or group specific to the value of RI (or TRI). Optionally, this precoder subset selection can be performed over the codebook associated with all possible values of RI (or TRI). In this case, a single precoder subset or group may contain precoders from one codebook (associated with one value of RI/TRI) or multiple codebooks (associated with multiple values of RI/TRI). this can be defined. Accordingly, PMI/TPMI may be interpreted without any reference or only with specific reference to RI/TRI.
This precoder group or set may include precoders to be selected or combined by the UE. That is, since the UE can obtain the UL channel estimation value through CSI-RS using DL-UL channel reciprocity, this UL channel estimation value is precoded from the precoder subset or group combination indicated through the PMI. It can be used to select a coder or derive a precoder. This restriction of the subset of precoders can be used (by the gNB) to configure the UE to select a precoder taking into account the perception of UL intra-cell interference caused by the gNB scheduling. As an example, this selection of precoder can minimize intra-cell interference caused by this UE to other UEs, or by other UEs to this UE. Optionally, this single field may indicate a group of precoders that the UE will avoid. This avoidance from a subset of precoders may be used (by the gNB) to configure the UE to avoid precoders in view of perception of UL intra-cell interference caused by the gNB scheduling. As an example, this selection of precoder may exacerbate intra-cell interference caused by this UE to other UEs, or by other UEs to this UE.
The same signaling mechanism as used for semi-dynamic beamforming can be used in this embodiment. For example, when a single-stage precoder or codebook is used, a precoding group DCI signaling mechanism similar to Table 1 or Table 2 for semi-dynamic beamforming can be used as shown in Table 3 as an example. here, represents the p-th group of B precoders.
Example precoding information table for TDD scenario: 1-stage precoder
When a dual-stage precoder or codebook is used, a PMI field included in the precoding information field signaled to the UE is a first PMI indicating a group of precoders. (For 2D precoders, which can consist of) only. The above precoding group signaling is "wideband", ie only one field is signaled for UE resource allocation.
Any one of the above three embodiments can be used for a TDD scenario in which DL-UL channel reciprocity can be realized. Optionally, at least two of these three embodiments may be supported and configured for the UE via higher-layer (RRC) signaling.
When DL CSI-RS is used for UL CSI acquisition (especially for precoder calculation), the UE may be configured with at least one CSI-RS for this purpose. This CSI-RS resource configuration may be the same as or different from the CSI-RS resource configuration used for DL CSI acquisition. Number of CSI-RS ports, time-domain operation (periodic, semi-stationary, or aperiodic), subframe configuration (including subframe offset and periodicity - applicable for periodic and semi-stationary CSI-RS), Energy per RE (EPRE) or power level, CSI-RS pattern (within one slot/subframe, including frequency density), when more than one CSI-RS resource can be configured General CSI-RS resource parameters such as the number of NZP CSI-RS resources (K = 1) of may be included in this resource configuration.
When the same CSI-RS resource configuration as the CSI-RS resource configuration for DL CSI acquisition is used for UL CSI acquisition, a higher-layer (RRC) parameter indicates that the CSI-RS resource configuration is DL measurement or UL measurement (eg, CSI, channel, or interference measurement - it should be noted that UL and DL interference profiles are generally not reciprocal). Optionally, this indication may be included in resource configuration or measurement configuration for UL CSI acquisition. Optionally, an indication that differentiates the use of this CSI-RS between DLs from UL measurements (in its configuration via higher-layer signaling) configures the UE with K=1 CSI-RS resources and configures the MAC CE or UL-related This can be prevented by dynamically signaling the CSI-RS resource index to the UE through DCI. This CSI-RS resource index indicates which N (eg, N=1) of the K configured CSI-RS resources are allocated to the UE for UL CSI measurement/acquisition. In this case, unique parameters (number of ports, subframe configuration, patterns, etc., if applicable) may be allocated to each of the K CSI-RS resources.
When the UE is configured with CSI-RS resources for UL CSI measurement, constraints for CSI or precoder calculation may also be introduced. For example, the number of UE antenna ports assumed for CSI calculation using DL CSI-RS may be set to the number of SRS antenna ports used for corresponding SRS resource configuration. Another possible constraint that the UE can assume is the bandwidth of the CSI-RS transmission. When a CSI-RS resource is configured for UL measurement, its transmission bandwidth includes the UL transmission bandwidth, RBs associated with UL resource allocation included in UL-related DCI (specifically related to aperiodic CSI-RS), Or it may be set to a preconfigured value (signaled through upper-layer/RRC, MAC CE, or L1 DL control signaling such as DCI).
To enable the use of DL-UL channel reciprocity for UL transmission, several alternative embodiments may be used. In an embodiment, 'subband PMI' (one PMI per subband in the allocated resources/RBs) and 'wideband PMI' (1 PMI indicating all subbands included in the allocated resources/RBs) In addition to the number of PMIs, an additional 'no PMI' configuration and/or a 'precoder set/group' configuration may be added. This PMI configuration can be used in conjunction with the transmission scheme configuration.
In another embodiment, a separate UL transmission scheme may be additionally defined to existing transmission schemes. For example, in addition to the 'dynamic beamforming' transmission method (or transmission method 1) and the 'semi-dynamic beamforming' transmission method (or transmission method 2, for example, a diversity-based transmission method) A 'reciprocity-based' transmission scheme or transmission scheme 3 may be defined. For example, when a UE is configured with a 'reciprocity-based' transmission method (or transmission method 3), the UE transmits precoding information (PMI) included in a UL-related DCI to a precoder set/group for the UE can be interpreted as an indicator of Based on the DL channel measurement from the CSI-RS, the UE can obtain an estimate of the UL channel through DL-UL channel reciprocity. This UL channel estimate can then be used to select a precoder or derive a precoder from a combination of precoder subsets or groups indicated through the PMI. Using this procedure, the UE may calculate a single precoder for all of the allocated RBs or one precoder for each of the allocated RBs. The precoder calculation as above may be explicit or left to the UL implementation.
In another embodiment, a separate configuration allows the UE to perform a 'reciprocity-based' or 'non-reciprocity-based' UL transmission or precoder calculation or PMI mode, or simply a PMI interpretation. Can be defined to indicate that it is configured. This configuration can be signaled via upper-layer (RRC) or L1/L2 control signaling (DCI or MAC CE). Similarly, when the UE is configured for 'reciprocity-based' operation, the UE interprets the precoding information (PMI) included in the UE-related DCI as an indicator of a precoder set/group for the UE can do. Based on the DL channel measurement from the CSI-RS, the UE can obtain an estimate of the UL channel through DL-UL channel reciprocity. This UL channel estimation value may be used to select a precoder or derive a precoder from a combination of precoder subsets or groups indicated through the PMI. Similarly, using this procedure, the UE can calculate a single precoder for all the assigned RBs or one precoder for each of the assigned RBs. Precoder calculations as above may be specified or may be left to the UE implementation.
Embodiment 4.3 of the fourth component is described assuming the use of a single PMI/TPMI indicating an assigned precoder subset/group. Therefore, when the UE applies frequency selective precoding to the corresponding UL transmission, the UE assumes the same precoder subset/group for all of the assigned RBs. For high frequency scenarios, the assigned RBs may span a wide frequency range, but a single precoder group used for all the assigned RBs may not be sufficient. Thus, in a variation of this embodiment, multiple PMIs/TPMIs may be included in a UL-related DCI, where each PMI/TPMI indicates a precoder group/subset assignment for a particular subband. That is, the precoder group/subset assignment is frequency selective. For this change, one of the embodiments related to the second component in which subband PMI/TPMI is signaled in UL-related DCI is applied. In this case, the subband size or configuration for precoder group/subset allocation may be the same as or different from the subband size or configuration for precoder allocation.
For the fifth component (i.e., supporting two-waveform UL transmission), the UL transmission is OFDM (CP-OFDM, i.e., OFDM using cyclic prefix) and DFT-S-OFDM are single-waveform. Both DFT-spread OFDM (DFT-S-OFDM) used for stream transmission can be supported. In this case, some possible embodiments can be described as follows.
*In an embodiment (5.1), when a UE is configured with UL SU-MIMO, the UE uses CP-OFDM regardless of the transmission rank (number of transmission layers) to perform physical uplink (similar to LTE PUSCH) Transmits UL data on a channel. When a UE is configured for single-stream transmission (non-UL SU-MIMO, without using rank adaptation capability), the UE may be configured with CP-OFDM or DFT-S-OFDM. This configuration may be signaled via upper-layer (RRC) signaling, MAC control element (MAC CE), or L1 DL control signaling (included in UL-related DCI).
In the modification of Embodiment 5.1 (Embodiment 5.2), for single-stream transmission, instead of receiving configuration signaling, the UE selects its own multi-access scheme (waveform) via the uplink channel (the network or to gNB). This signaling may be included as part of a UL data transmission or in a separate UL transmission (such as a UL transmission on a UL control channel).
In another modification of Embodiment 5.1 (Embodiment 5.3), in addition to the description related to Embodiment 5.1, the following additional UE procedures are supported. When a UE is configured with UL SU-MIMO, a fallback transmission scheme of DFT-S-OFDM-based single-stream transmission is supported. This fallback transmission can be dynamically scheduled for the UE via a UL-related DCI different from the UL-related DCI used for UL SU-MIMO transmissions. The size of this fallback DCI may be significantly smaller than the size of the fallback DCI for SU-MIMO transmission, and may be in the same search space as the search space for UL SU-MIMO transmission or in a different search space (eg, a common search space). can be located This fallback transmission scheme may be the same as or different from the fallback transmission scheme for the single-stream transmission associated with the non-UL SU-MIMO transmission. This transmission scheme may be used, for example, when a UE configured for UL SU-MIMO transmission exists in a coverage-limited situation.
In another embodiment (5.4), when a UE is configured with UL SU-MIMO, the UE uses CP-OFDM for rank-2 (layer 2 transmission) and above to perform physical upstream (similar to LTE PUSCH). UL data is transmitted on the link channel. For rank-1 (layer 1 transmission), the UE can be configured to transmit with either CP-OFDM or DFT-S-OFDM. This configuration may be signaled through higher layer (RRC) signaling, MAC CE, or L1 DL control signaling. For the last approach (via L1 DL control signaling), the UL-related DCI associated with UL SU-MIMO transmission indicates that the waveform (CP-OFDM or DFT-S-OFDM) is used when the value of the RI is 1 or a 1-bit DCI field indicating that these two hypotheses (CP-OFDM or DFT-S-OFDM) are jointly encoded with other hypotheses such as RI and/or precoding hypotheses.
Moreover, when the UE transmits with DFT-S-OFDM, a single precoder (frequency non-selective precoder) is used.
For this embodiment, when the UE is configured for single-stream transmission (non-UL SU-MIMO, without using rank adaptation capability), the UE may be configured with CP-OFDM or DFT-S-OFDM. Similarly, this configuration can be signaled via higher-layer (RRC) signaling, MAC control element (MAC CE), or L1 DL control signaling (which is included in the UL-related DCI).
For all such embodiments, whenever DFT-S-OFDM is used, the single-carrier of DFT-S-OFDM (single-carrier FDMA, SC-FDMA) that the UE is configured to transmit in a set of contiguous PRBs version may be used.
For all of the above embodiments, whenever single-stream transmission is used, transmit diversity or single-port transmission may be used.
