Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a vehicle canister, and more particularly, to a vehicle canister which is filled with activated carbon having a different average particle diameter in a canister housing and has a honeycomb activated carbon embedded therein, and has a greatly improved vapor adsorption and desorption performance. .
Internal combustion engines, especially engines for automobiles, generate power by using gasoline or diesel as fuel. When gasoline used in such an automobile engine is used, gasoline fuel stored in the fuel tank is volatilized while the engine is stopped or normally.
When the evaporated fuel generated by volatilization of Japanese gasoline is discharged to the outside, waste of fuel and serious pollution occur. Therefore, in the past, adsorption materials such as activated carbon, which can adsorb such vapor, are built in. By adsorb | sucking using the used canister, the vaporization fuel is prevented from being dissipated as it is in air | atmosphere.
This canister structure, which is generally used, has a tank port communicating with the upper vapor chamber of the fuel tank, a purge port communicating with the intake passage of the internal combustion engine, an atmospheric port opened to the atmosphere, and an evaporation flowing from the tank port to the atmospheric port. An adsorbent chamber is provided containing an adsorbent for adsorbing fuel and desorbing evaporated fuel when air from the atmospheric port is drawn into the purge port.
Therefore, the evaporated fuel generated in the fuel tank at the time of engine stop such as when the operation of the engine is stopped is adsorbed to the adsorbent while flowing from the tank port through the adsorbent chamber to the standby port, thereby preventing the emission of the evaporated fuel into the atmosphere.
On the contrary, when the engine is operated, an intake negative pressure is generated, and when the evaporated fuel adsorbed to the adsorbent is sucked into the purge port through the adsorption chamber, the air in the air introduced from the standby port is sucked through the adsorption chamber. As a result, the adsorption material is regenerated, thus preparing for adsorption of oil vapor generation at engine stop.
As a prior art with respect to the configuration of such a canister, Japanese Laid-Open Patent Publication No. 2002-256989 discloses a canister in which an adsorbent layer is arranged in series by two-part partitions of a first adsorption layer and a second adsorption layer by partitions. In the first adsorption layer, activated carbon A having a large amount of adsorption of evaporated fuel is used, and in the second adsorption layer, the adsorption amount of evaporated fuel is less than the activated carbon A, and the support capacity of evaporative fuel is equal to the activated carbon A. A technique relating to a canister is disclosed.
In addition, Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. 2009-019572 discloses a canister having a two-port structure canister composed of a charge port, a purge port, and an atmospheric port, and filled with a fine particle adsorbent having a microporous structure and a macroporous structure. Japanese Patent No. 5583609 discloses a tank port communicating with an upper chamber of a fuel tank, a purge port communicating with an intake passage of an internal combustion engine, an atmospheric port opened to the atmosphere, and evaporated fuel flowing from the tank port to the atmospheric port. The activated carbon in the adsorbent chamber is activated carbon having a butane working capacity of 13 g / dL or more according to the ASTM method, and the second adsorbent chamber is provided with a desorption promoting means for promoting desorption of evaporated fuel. Doing.
In addition, Korean Patent No. 10-1040965 In addition to the air gap is formed on the top of the tank port is formed on the top of the air gap, the purge port is formed on one side of the tank port, the lower end of the tank port is formed with a meshing coupling portion, A composition has been proposed for a canister having a differential outflow prevention structure comprising a diffusion trap coupled to the bottom of the air gap by ultrasonic welding and a coating filter coupled to the bottom of the diffusion trap by ultrasonic welding. have.
However, these conventional canisters have attempted to efficiently adsorb the vapor using different adsorption material properties inside the canister, but the adsorption performance is insufficient, or the composition is difficult to manufacture and the production cost is high. There is a growing problem.
In addition, since the existing canister is not smoothly desorbed from the vapor adsorbed on the adsorbent, a large amount of residual oil vapor remaining in the adsorbent may occur, so that some adsorption vapor may diverge into the atmosphere.
In order to solve the problems of the prior art as described above, the present invention is to improve the structure of the canister to improve the adsorption of oil vapor, and the performance of the adsorbent is also sufficiently rehabilitation by desorption, so that there is no residual amount and no air leakage as a problem do.
Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an improved canister which improves the vapor adsorption performance by arranging activated carbon having different average particle diameters in a specific form.

According to the present invention, the second
In addition, the upper end of the second activated
According to the present invention, such a particle size arrangement may be configured in a form distinguished so as to have a particle size distribution in the form of, for example, 2-4 compartments. That is, the second activated
1A illustrates a case in which the second activated
Here, the activated carbon of the small particles, the medium particles, and the large particles is for relatively indicating the size of the average particle diameter of the stacked activated carbons, and the concept of dividing a group having a different average particle size into three groups of small to large groups. It means.
As another example, FIG. 1B illustrates a form in which activated carbon is divided into two parts having different sizes. In such a case, for example, the medium particle activated carbon having an average particle diameter of 2.5 mm or more and less than 4.5 mm, and the large particle activated carbon having an average particle diameter of 4.5 mm or more and 6.5 mm or less can be sequentially filled from the bottom.
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, each activated carbon used may be one having a specific surface area of 2,500
Therefore, as an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the activated carbon of the first activated carbon and the second activated carbon may have a specific surface area of 2,500
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, activated carbon having a specific surface area of 2,500
According to the present invention, the canister having the above configuration is divided into the first zone 1 and the
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the third zone (3) is a structure for distinguishing it from the first zone (1) and the second zone (2), for example, a plate-like structure made of a plastic injection molding having a porous vent hole, or a metal material.
According to the present invention, the first activated
According to the present invention, an additional screen is installed between the
FIG. 3 conceptually shows a vapor movement path of another canister (FIG. 1A) according to the present invention. In FIG. 3, the direction of the solid line is a path through which oil vapor is adsorbed, and the dotted line shows a path through which air inflow and vapor are desorbed and purged.
According to the present invention, the canister configured as described above has a second adsorbent filling part in which oil vapor generated from the fuel tank, such as the engine is stopped, is located in the
In addition, if the engine is operated after the adsorption of oil vapor, the oil vapor adsorbed to the first adsorption
According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, in the adsorption and desorption process of the oil vapor as described above, efficient vapor adsorption is enabled by the arrangement structure of the first activated carbon having a relatively small average particle diameter and the second activated carbon having a relatively large average particle diameter. will be.
If the average particle diameter of the first activated carbon is larger than the first activated carbon, the adsorption effect of the vapor is greatly reduced, and the vapor adsorption is not performed smoothly. In addition, if the average particle diameter of the first activated carbon is smaller than the above range, the vapor adsorption efficiency may be lowered, but it is not preferable due to the generation of dust after fabrication or filling. There is a problem that is significantly reduced. Therefore, if the particle size of the second activated carbon is too large, the vapor adsorption effect is lowered.
As described above, according to the present invention, the composition of the average particle diameter of the first activated carbon and the second activated carbon is such that the adsorption efficiency and important causality of the canister of the present invention are set by efficiently configuring the vapor adsorption effect and expressing the synergistic effect. There is a relationship.
Further, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, in the honeycomb activated carbon charging unit disposed in the first zone adjacent to the atmospheric port, the adsorption capacity of the activated carbon and the characteristics of the honeycomb structure, together with the vapor adsorption, in the space of the honeycomb structure in the vapor adsorption step Simultaneously, the effects of vapor subsumption can be achieved, creating a very favorable environment for the overall vapor adsorption configuration.
In addition, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, in the honeycomb activated carbon charging unit, an environment in which the air flowing from the air port is easily introduced through the honeycomb structure, creates an environment in which oil vapor adsorbed to the activated carbon charged in each zone is obtained. It is also possible to facilitate the desorption of oil, which may help the efficient vapor adsorption and desorption functions in the canister.
In particular, according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, when applied to have a specific surface area of at least 2,500
According to the present invention, in the canister as described above, the case where the evaporated fuel adsorbed to the adsorbent filling part at the time of stopping the engine does not occur from the standby port to the atmosphere. In other words, the concentration distribution of the evaporated fuel adsorbed in the canister tends to be the highest at the tank port side and gradually decreases toward the atmospheric port side, but the evaporated fuel diffuses toward the lower atmospheric port side with time due to the adsorption equilibrium of the adsorbent. Even if the phenomenon of moving occurs, it exhibits a sufficient adsorption effect.
On the contrary, if all of the evaporated fuel is desorbed at the time of purging and remains in the adsorbent filling unit, the evaporated fuel remaining in the adsorbent is diffused and moved to the atmospheric port side by the new evaporated fuel flowing from the fuel tank during the refueling. It can be diverted to the outside.
Therefore, as the residual amount of oil vapor remaining in the adsorbent filling part on the atmospheric port side increases, the possibility of generation of oil vapor emitted to the outside increases.
However, as described above, the canister according to the present invention constitutes the average particle diameter of the first and second activated carbons charged in the first and first adsorbent filling parts within a specific range, and further exerts a synergistic effect due to the arrangement of the honeycomb structured activated carbons. As a result, the amount of vapor adsorption is maximized, and the amount of residual vapor is substantially not present.
In addition, when the specific surface area of the activated carbon used in the present invention is used in a specific range or more, the vapor adsorption is possible to the maximum, and due to the overall structure of the adsorbent, the effect of having no vapor residual amount can be fully exhibited. It is possible to achieve a more desirable effect.
Particularly, according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, due to the improvement of the canisker structure, a sufficient effect is expressed even with a small capacity compared to the conventional one, so that the reliability of the product is greatly improved when it is mounted on the vehicle, and it is advantageous to lighten the weight and secure the space of the vehicle. And economic effects can be expected.
The canister for vehicles according to the present invention as described above has excellent adsorption capacity and no residual amount compared to existing vapor adsorption canisters, which can be applied to automobiles without fuel waste and environmental pollution.
In addition, since the performance is excellent, even if manufactured in a smaller size than the existing product compared to a uniform capacity can be applied as a product for achieving the purpose, it is possible to manufacture a high-quality finished car more economically.
