Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to graphene oxide, a production method thereof, and a display device including the same.
Graphene is one of the carbon isotopes, a two-dimensional structure of a single atomic layer thickness in which carbon atoms are connected by sp2 bonds, and benzene-type carbon rings are connected to form a honeycomb structure.
There are four known methods for producing graphene: mechanical peeling, chemical vapor deposition (CVD), organic solvent method, and oxidation-reduction method of graphite. Among them, the oxidation- It is most preferred because it is easy to produce.
The oxidation-reduction method of graphite induces oxygen-based functional groups to reduce the pi electron density between the layers, thereby lowering the van der Waals attractive force, thereby facilitating the delamination between the layers. As a method for oxidizing the graphite, Hummers ) Method, the Staudenmaier method, the Brodie method, and the like are mainly known.
However, since the oxidation process described above is oxidized under extreme conditions by combining a strong acid with a strong oxidizing agent, it is not restored to the original graphene structure even after reduction, and oxygen remains after the reduction process. But it can not produce high quality graphene. Generally, in the oxidation between the graphite layers, a carboxyl group is finally formed through an ether or the like as a hydroxyl group and an epoxy group are first formed and the oxidation reaction is continuously progressed. In this process, a carbon- Carbon bonds are broken to cause defects, which are not completely restored even after reduction, and the electrical characteristics of the graphene itself deteriorate.

Oxide
The graphene oxide of the present invention is graphene oxide delaminated with an oxygen atom at the edge. The graphene oxide is delaminated to form a sheet shape.
Referring to FIG. 1, the graphene oxide of the present invention is combined with carbon in a honeycomb structure to form graphen oxide in the form of one sheet. Each graphene oxide is bounded by an oxygen atom that appears red at the edges, and the edges are partially oxidized. That is, the surface of graphene oxide is not oxidized and oxygen atoms are not present, and the edges of graphene oxide are oxidized to bond oxygen atoms. That is, the graphene oxide of the present invention may be graphen oxide oxide having an edge oxidized.
Manufacturing method
The edge-oxidized graphene oxide of the present invention can be partially oxidized only at the edges through a partial oxidation process, unlike the generally known post oxidation oxidation process.
FIG. 2 is a view showing a process for producing graphene oxide according to the present invention, and FIG. 3 is a diagram showing the structure of graphite according to the manufacturing process of the present invention.
The partially oxidized graphene oxide of the present invention can be prepared by the following four-step preparation method. A first step of dispersing graphite in a container containing concentrated sulfuric acid and introducing water, a second step of oxidizing graphite by injecting an oxidizing agent into the vessel, a step of adding hydrogen peroxide to the vessel to terminate the oxidation, A third step of obtaining graphen oxide, and a fourth step of delaminating the resulting graphene oxide.
A method of producing the partially oxidized graphene oxide of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3. FIG.

Hereinafter, the method for producing graphene oxide of the present invention will be described in more detail.
The graphite used as the starting material may be natural graphite, kish graphite, synthetic graphite, expandable graphite or expanded graphite, or a mixture thereof.
Since the subsequent reaction of the graphite and the oxidizing agent is preferably carried out in the presence of an acid, the graphite-containing solution may be sulfuric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, or carboxylic acid.
In the present invention, water is added to the graphite-containing solution. In contrast to the use of concentrated sulfuric acid at a concentration of 95% to 98% in the conventional Hummus method, the concentrated sulfuric acid condition is changed to dilute sulfuric acid condition by adding water. For example, the concentration of dilute sulfuric acid may be 50% to 60% concentration.
In this step, the content of water varies depending on the graphite content, and the content ratio of graphite and water may be 1:13 to 1:20. Here, the content is volume%. Here, when the content ratio of graphite and water is 1:13 or more, concentrated sulfuric acid is changed to a diluted sulfuric acid condition to slow the oxidation reaction, thereby oxidizing the edges of the graphite, and there may be a part of manganese oxide manganese described below remaining on the surface of the graphite It is possible to prevent oxidation from proceeding. When the content ratio of graphite and water is 1:20 or less, the dispersion of graphite is sharply lowered, and the oxidation reaction can be prevented from being not efficiently performed.
Water is added while maintaining the temperature of the graphite-containing solution at 70 degrees or less.
S2>The second step < S2 &
This step is a step of adding an oxidizing agent to the previously prepared solution to oxidize it.
The oxidizing agent used in the present invention may include, for example, a component selected from the group consisting of permanganic acid, chloric acid, or a combination thereof. For example, oxidizing agents include potassium permanganate, calcium permanganate, ammonium permanganate, sodium permanganate, potassium chlorate, sodium chlorate, ammonium chlorate, or mixtures thereof.
When potassium permanganate is added under dilute sulfuric acid conditions, manganese oxide is formed and manganese oxide reacts with water to produce a reverse reaction that returns to the permanganate ion (MnO 4 -). The permanganate ions are not stronger than manganese oxide and do not attack the basal plane portion of the graphite, so they start to oxidize from the edge of the relatively reactive graphite.
The reaction time is slowly reacted for up to 24 hours, and the temperature of the reaction tank is carried out at 70 ° C.
S3>The third step < S3 &
In this step, a reaction terminating agent is added to terminate the oxidation reaction. The reaction terminator may be hydrogen peroxide (H 2 O 2 ). When permanganate ion meets hydrogen peroxide, it changes into manganese ion and loses oxidizing power. That is, hydrogen peroxide serves to terminate oxidation.
The content of hydrogen peroxide is added in a certain proportion to the graphite content. The content of graphite and hydrogen peroxide is 1: 5 or more, so that the oxidation reaction can be completely terminated.
Afterwards, it is washed three times with hydrochloric acid and five times with distilled water by centrifugation for ion removal and neutralization. Thus, graphite having oxidized edges is obtained.
S4>Fourth Step < S4 >
The edge-oxidized graphite obtained through the previous step performs delamination to obtain each separate, edge-oxidized graphene oxide. Delamination may be performed with a homogenizer, a quartetailer reactor, a high pressure homogenizer, an ultrasonic mill, or a combination thereof.
After the above stripping step, a further step of washing and separating graphene oxide can be carried out. Washing and separation may be performed with a filter press, a centrifuge, a decanter or a combination thereof.
According to the production method of the present invention, water is added to concentrated sulfuric acid to worsen the concentrated sulfuric acid condition, thereby slowing the oxidation reaction of graphite. Thus, graphene oxide having an oxidized edge can be obtained.
The above-mentioned edge-oxidized graphene oxide of the present invention can be used for a pixel electrode of a thin film transistor array substrate and a display device including the same. In the following, the pixel electrodes of the thin film transistor array substrate and the display device including the pixel electrodes are described as an example, but as described above, they can be used as various conductive materials for electric devices.
