Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a battery pack having excellent durability, and more particularly, to a battery pack which increases productivity by laser welding and prevents an increase in contact resistance caused by moisture as well as external shocks and repeated high vibration, And more particularly, to a battery pack having excellent durability.
As the use of portable electric appliances such as video cameras, portable telephones, and portable PCs is activated, the importance of secondary batteries, which are mainly used as driving power sources thereof, is increasing. Such secondary batteries, unlike a primary battery which can not be charged, As a possible alternative energy source for fossil fuels, active research is underway in the development of advanced fields such as electric bicycles, electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, and large-capacity electric power storage devices.
In particular, the lithium secondary battery has a higher energy density per unit weight and can be rapidly charged as compared with other secondary batteries such as lead-acid batteries, nickel-cadmium batteries, nickel-hydrogen batteries and nickel-zinc batteries. It is progressing.
Such a lithium secondary battery can be used as a power source for portable electronic devices with an operating voltage of 3.6 V or higher, or a plurality of batteries can be connected in series or in parallel to provide high output electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, power tools, electric bicycles, And the like.
The lithium secondary battery has a working voltage three times higher than that of a nickel-cadmium battery or a nickel-metal hydride battery, and has an excellent energy density per unit weight, and is rapidly used.
The lithium secondary battery can be classified into a lithium ion battery using a liquid electrolyte and a lithium ion polymer battery using a polymer solid electrolyte depending on the type of electrolyte. The lithium ion polymer battery has no electrolyte depending on the type of the polymer solid electrolyte And a lithium-ion polymer battery using a gel-type polymer electrolyte containing an electrolyte.
In the case of a lithium ion battery using a liquid electrolyte, the cylindrical secondary battery includes an electrode assembly and an electrolyte. The electrode assembly includes a positive electrode plate, a negative electrode plate, and a negative electrode plate. The positive electrode plate and the negative electrode plate of the electrode assembly may each include an electrode tab which is led out to the outside.
The electrode assembly is accommodated in the case, and the electrode terminal can be exposed to the outside of the case. The electrode tab may be drawn out of the electrode assembly and electrically connected to the electrode terminal.
A plurality of such secondary batteries may be stacked horizontally or vertically to form a battery pack. In the secondary batteries stacked adjacent to each other in the battery pack, the electrode terminals may be electrically interconnected, and the electrode terminals of the neighboring secondary cells may be And can be electrically connected.
However, such a bus bar is formed by joining an alloy containing nickel, copper, or the like by resistance welding. In particular, a bridge-bus bar uses a bolt connection. In the case of a device equipped with a battery pack, There is a problem that the bolt connection is loosened due to an impact or a high vibration caused by the shock or the battery is oxidized by the moisture of snow or rain during the winter season or the summer, and contact resistance is generated at the relevant part, causing malfunction of the battery pack.
11 to 13, since the distance between the
13, when the

Here, a plurality of unit batteries arranged in parallel may be arranged to exhibit the same polarity, which will be described later in detail.
The upper and
In addition, the upper and
The
It is preferable that the thickness 310t of the joint 310 is equal to or thinner than the thickness 220t of the bottom 220 of the battery can. Electrolyte leakage may occur.
(Laser interaction time, Laser irradiation time/d, d= lasef spot diameter)과 500 내지 1400 에너지덴시티(Energy density, J/sq.cm)를 갖을 수 있는데, 이 범위를 벗어나는 경우 즉 하한치 미만이면 용접이 불완전하여 용접시나 사용중에 오픈(open) 불량이 발생될 수 있으며, 반대로 상한치를 초과하면, 과도한 레이저 에너지에 의하여 용접 품위는 물론 전지캔 내부의 전해질이 외부로 누출될 수 있다. In addition, in the laser welding, the energization must be smoothly carried out through the rigid bonding of the adherend within a range that does not damage the unit battery. The laser required for the laser welding has a power density of 10 to 30 MW / Cm < 2 >, a laser irradiation time (d = lasef spot diameter) of 0.02 to 0.05 and a laser irradiation time (J / sq. Cm). If the welding temperature is less than the lower limit value, the welding may be incomplete and an open failure may occur during welding or during use. On the contrary, , The excessive amount of laser energy may cause the electrolyte in the battery can to leak to the outside as well as the quality of the welded product.
According to another embodiment of the present invention, a
In this case, the tap plate attached to the electrode terminal of the unit pack module may be formed in one piece, but may be divided into a plurality of pieces. Since the tap plate can be made conductive through the bus bar and the welded portion, It can be designed and provided as necessary.
In addition, the tab plates may be configured in series or in parallel according to the designed amount of power, so that the tab plates forming the energized state through the plurality of joints in the unit pack module can be energized with the bus bars 400 through the welds. As shown in FIG. 5, the plurality of bus bars F1, F2, F31, F32, B1, B2, and B3 constitute the
That is, F1, F2, F31, and F32 corresponding to the upper bus bars disposed on one side of the plurality of unit batteries, and B1, B2, and B3 corresponding to the lower bus bars disposed on the side of the plurality of unit battery other electrodes are disposed, As shown in FIG. 5, when a power tab (F +, F-) is formed on the upper bus bar, the number of the upper bus bars is always one more than the number of the lower bus bars, The number of bus bars (Uf) is such that the number of lower bus bars (Df) is Uf = Df + 1.
In this case, the anode power supply F + and the anode power supply F- form the power supply, and the anode power supply F + is connected from the F1 upper bus bar to the B1 lower bus bar, from B1 to F31, from F31 to B3, B3 to F32, F32 to B2, B2 to F2, and F2 can constitute a circuit with a negative power source (F-) to apply power to an external circuit or load.
As described above, the
Here, the tap plate may have a thickness equal to or thinner than the battery can, thereby preventing defects due to welding. However, the bus bar is thicker than the tab plate because the conductive material has a favorable side. For example, the thickness of the joint portion of the tab plate may be 0.4 mm or less, and the thickness of the bus bar may be 1.0 mm or more.
In addition, the
The
Therefore, in this case, it is preferable that the joint 310 has an outer diameter equal to or smaller than the inner diameter of the
In addition, the size (outer diameter L2) of the abutment can be less than or equal to the inner diameter (H) of the bus hole, and more preferably small, so that the abutment can be easily aligned Can help.
In addition, the outer diameter L1 of the seating part may be smaller than or equal to the inner diameter H of the bus hole, and the bus bar having entered the
Here, the height t of the seating portion may be smaller than or equal to the height (thickness, T) of the bus bar. In this case, since the outer periphery of the seating portion is resiliently supported by the bent portion having a larger outer diameter than the bus hole inner diameter, Adhered bus bars can help maintain tight contact.
In addition, the extension portion may have a plurality of bar-shaped portions serving as a tapped hole, a joint portion, and a bridge, so that the size of the tapped
In this case, the
In the case where one or more extension portions are provided in the
Therefore, the joint 310 may be disposed to abut the
In this case, the
However, when the tab plate is welded to the positive electrode terminal, it is needless to say that the laser welding can be performed by using an aluminum (Al) plate.
Accordingly, it is possible to form a welded portion by laser welding not only a bus bar having a bus hole after welding a tap plate capable of resistance welding to an electrode terminal in advance, but also to form a welded portion by laser welding by opposing the tapped hole and the bus hole And the electrode terminal is subjected to resistance welding to form a joint.
