Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a battery module, a battery pack including such a battery module, and an automobile including such a battery pack.
Secondary batteries having high electrical characteristics such as high energy density and high ease of application according to the product group can be applied not only to portable devices but also to electric vehicles (EVs) or hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) driven by electric driving sources It is universally applied. Such a secondary battery is not only a primary advantage that the use of fossil fuel can be drastically reduced, but also produces no by-products resulting from the use of energy, and thus is attracting attention as a new energy source for enhancing environmental friendliness and energy efficiency.
Types of secondary batteries widely used today include lithium ion batteries, lithium polymer batteries, nickel cadmium batteries, nickel metal hydride batteries, and nickel-zinc batteries. The operating voltage of such a unitary secondary battery cell, that is, the unit battery cell is about 2.5V to 4.2V. Therefore, when a higher output voltage is required, a plurality of battery cells may be connected in series to form a battery pack. In addition, a plurality of battery cells may be connected in parallel according to a charge / discharge capacity required for the battery pack to form a battery pack. Therefore, the number of battery cells included in the battery pack can be variously set according to the required output voltage or the charge / discharge capacity.
Meanwhile, when a plurality of battery cells are connected in series / parallel to form a battery pack, a battery module including at least one battery cell is first configured, and other components are added using the at least one battery module, Is generally used.
The conventional battery module generally includes a battery cell assembly including a plurality of battery cells stacked one upon another and a plurality of sensing bus bars electrically connecting a pair of electrode leads of the plurality of battery cells, And an eyepiece assembly mounted on the housing.
In the conventional battery module, a pair of electrode leads of battery cells having passed through the lead slots of the iso-assembly and the sensing bus bars of the iso-assembly are connected by laser welding or the like after mounting the battery cell assembly of the i- .
Here, the plurality of sensing bus bars are mounted on the isocide frame of the eye proof assembly, and are disposed between the lead slots along the anteroposterior direction of the eye proof assembly. Then, each sensing bus bar is bent in the forward and backward directions along the forward and backward directions of the iso-assembly assembly so as to be stably fixed to the iso-frame, and is hooked to the iso-frame.
However, in the conventional battery module, the size of the plurality of sensing bus bars in the front-rear direction of the iso-assembly is increased by the portions bent along the front-rear direction of the iso-assembly, There is a problem that the module size increases in the thickness direction of the antenna. This is a factor that hinders the trend of slimming of the battery module in recent years.
In the conventional battery module, portions of the plurality of sensing bus bars bent along the front-rear direction of the electrode assembly interfere with electrode leads passing through adjacent lead slots, so that assemblability of the battery cell assembly and the iso-assembly Is lowered.
Therefore, in the battery module, there is a need to find a way to improve the assemblability of the battery cell assembly and the iso-assembly and to provide a slimmer battery module according to recent slimming trends.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a slim battery module that improves the assemblability of the battery cell assembly and the ic fertilization assembly, and that is more slim according to the recent slimming trend, a battery pack including such a battery module, .
