In recent years, lithium secondary batteries, which are chargeable and dischargeable and light in weight and have high energy density and high output density, are widely used as energy sources for wireless mobile devices. In addition, Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), Battery Electric Vehicle (PHEV), and Electric Vehicle BEV), electric vehicle (EV), and the like. Lithium secondary batteries are attracting attention as a power source for such an internal combustion engine replacement vehicle.
The lithium secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including an anode, a cathode, and a separation membrane formed between the anode and the cathode to insulate the anode and the cathode, and is formed by performing an aging process and a formation process , It is important to accurately select these defects because defects often occur due to various causes during the process. Recently, a method of selecting a low voltage failure of a secondary battery in an activation process has been used to select a failure of the secondary battery.

However, during the activation process, it is determined that the secondary battery is normal. However, the secondary battery may be further defective during the storage period until the secondary battery is inserted into the battery pack after the activation process is completed. In addition, there is a possibility that a product to be judged as a low voltage fault may be erroneously determined as a normal product and put into a battery pack together.

mV/day = (OCV2 - 특성 전압) / (특성 전압 측정 일 - OCV 측정일, 도 3의 제 3 구간)mV / day = (OCV2 - characteristic voltage) / (characteristic voltage measurement date - OCV measurement day, third section in FIG. 3)
(S50). Next, the first voltage change value calculated by the voltage change
When the fourth period elapses after the activation process is terminated, the battery pack receiving voltage of the secondary battery is measured (S70). The fourth period is referred to as a battery pack wearing interval, and the point at which the battery pack receiving voltage is measured may vary.
Here, the battery pack receiving voltage may be measured by the
(S70). Next, the second voltage change value is calculated using the battery pack receiving voltage and OCV2 measured by the voltage change value calculating unit 140 (S70).

mV/day = (OCV2 - 배터리 팩 입고 전압) / (배터리 팩 입고 전압 측정 일 - OCV 측정일, 도 3의 제 4 구간)mV / day = (OCV2 - battery pack wearing voltage) / (battery pack wearing voltage measurement day - OCV measurement day, fourth section in FIG. 3)
(S90). Next, the second voltage change value calculated by the voltage change
The
As described above, the present invention can further improve the low-voltage fault selection accuracy of the secondary battery by further selecting the low-voltage failure of the secondary battery generated during the storage period until the time of receipt of the battery pack after the activation process.
In addition, even if a product to be judged as a low voltage fault is erroneously judged as a normal product, it is possible to further select a low voltage fault by a secondary failure sorting process, thereby preventing a problem that a defective product is received in the battery pack have.
