Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a driving apparatus and a driving method of an organic light emitting diode, and more particularly, to a driving apparatus and a driving method of an organic light emitting diode
In an organic light emitting device (OLED), an organic layer is provided between a lower electrode and an upper electrode. When an electric current flows through the two electrodes, active light emitted by the electrons and holes supplied from the two electrodes, Device. These OLEDs are thin and light, have high brightness, low power consumption, and are applied to various fields. In particular, OLEDs are attracting attention as next generation displays, and can be used as white light and monochromatic light.
However, as the use time of the organic light emitting device increases, the luminous efficiency, that is, the luminance gradually decreases. FIG. 1 is a graph showing driving characteristics of the organic light emitting device over time. It can be seen that as the driving time is increased when the same voltage is applied, the luminance gradually decreases. Here, the luminance may be lowered due to aging of the organic material layer, increase in resistance of the electrode, and the like. That is, as the driving time of the organic light emitting diode increases, the amount of current passing through the organic material layer may be reduced or the voltage applied to the electrode may be reduced even though the same voltage is applied.
The present invention provides a driving apparatus and driving method of an organic light emitting element capable of preventing a decrease in luminance even when driving time is increased.

One embodiment of the present invention provides a detector for detecting the voltage or current of the OLED panel and can compensate for the luminance drop by adjusting the driving voltage according to the detection result of the detector. For example, a comparator may be connected to the input terminal and the output terminal of the OLED panel, and the comparator may sense a drop in the potential of the output terminal to adjust the driving voltage. In addition, the driving voltage according to the current of the OLED panel is set and stored, and the driving voltage can be adjusted according to the current by detecting the current of the OLED panel. Then, the luminance of the OLED panel may be measured and the driving voltage according to the luminance may be adjusted.
Thus, according to the present invention, the lifetime of the OLED panel can be improved by adjusting the driving voltage according to the luminance, thereby improving the economical efficiency. That is, the OLED panel may be used as a lighting device for a first lifetime, for example, in which the luminance of the OLED panel is lowered below a predetermined value in the conventional case where the driving voltage is constantly applied. However, The luminance can be maintained or increased even after one lifetime, so that the OLED panel can be used with a second lifetime longer than the first lifetime.

The driving voltage supplied from the

As described above, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the detecting

5, the organic light emitting diode driving apparatus according to another embodiment of the present invention includes a
In addition, the
The
On the other hand, the
A driving method using the organic light emitting diode driving apparatus according to another embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to FIG.
First, it is confirmed whether the

As described above, according to another embodiment of the present invention, the
FIG. 8 is a configuration diagram of an organic light emitting diode driving apparatus according to another embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 9 is a flowchart of a driving method of an organic light emitting diode using the same.
Referring to FIG. 8, the organic light emitting diode driving apparatus according to another exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a
The

A driving method using the organic light emitting diode driving apparatus according to another embodiment of the present invention will now be described with reference to FIG.
(S380).First, the brightness of the
