The present invention discloses a mechanism for implementing such structural features, which is described in more detail below.

3 is an exploded perspective view of the mobile terminal 100 of FIG. 1, and FIG. 4 is a cross-sectional view taken along the line IV-IV shown in FIG. 1.

Referring to FIG. 3, a circuit board 180 is disposed inside the terminal body. The circuit board 180 may be mounted to the rear case 102 as shown or may be installed in a separate internal structure. The circuit board 180 may be configured as an example of a control unit for operating various functions of the mobile terminal 100. Various electronic devices may be mounted on the circuit board 180 or electrically connected to the circuit board 180 through the flexible circuit board 181 like the acoustic output device 161.

A display unit 150 (refer to FIG. 1) for displaying information processed by the mobile terminal 100 is disposed in front of the terminal body. The display unit 150 may be arranged to occupy most of the front surface of the terminal body. The display unit 150 includes a display 151 and a window 152 covering the display 151.

The mobile terminal 100 has a case accommodating the display 151. In this embodiment, it is shown that the case is formed of the front case 101 forming the appearance of the terminal body. Unlike the figure, the case may be formed of a separate internal structure different from the front case 101.

The front case 101 is provided with a mounting portion 101a recessed from one surface. The mounting portion 101a may be formed to support the window 152 and may have a loop shape corresponding to the edge portion of the window 152. A hole 101c may be formed in the mounting portion 101a to guide light emitted from the light source 131a mounted on the circuit board 180.

The window 152 is mounted to the mounting portion 101a. The window 152 may be formed of a material through which light can pass, for example, a light transmissive synthetic resin, tempered glass, or the like. The window 152 may be formed to include a portion through which light cannot pass.

The window 152 is partitioned into an opaque edge region S and a central region C surrounded by the edge region S. The edge area S may be seated and supported by the mounting portion 101a, and the center area C may have an area corresponding to the display 151. Accordingly, the user can recognize the time information output from the display 151 from the outside.

In addition, as described above, since the mobile terminal 100 according to the present invention is configured to transmit sound using vibration generated from the sound output device 161, a hole or a groove for emitting sound to the window 152. It is not formed. Thus, a simpler front surface of the terminal body can be implemented.

The window 152 may be firmly fixed to the mounting portion 101a through an adhesive film (not shown). The adhesive film is sealed to prevent foreign matter from penetrating between the display 151 and the window 152 and may have a loop shape corresponding to the mounting portion 101a.

The display 151 is disposed on the rear surface of the window 152 and is accommodated in the front case 101 to form the display unit 150 together with the window 152. The display 151 is electrically connected to the circuit board 180 and is configured to output time information under the control of the control unit. The display 151 may have an area corresponding to a portion of the window 152 through which light is transmitted.

The display 151 may be, for example, a liquid crystal display (LCD), a thin film transistor-liquid crystal display (TFT LCD), an organic light-emitting diode (OLED), The display device may be any one of a flexible display and a 3D display.

The display unit 150 may further include a touch sensor (not shown) to form a touch screen. The touch sensor is disposed between the window 152 and the display 151 to sense a touch input to the window 152.

The touch sensor is configured to convert a change in voltage, amount of charge, etc. generated in a specific portion of the window 152 into an electrical input signal. The touch sensor is transmissive so that the image formed on the display 151 can transmit therethrough. An area corresponding to a portion of the touch sensor through which the light passes through the window 152 forms an input area.

The touch sensor may include a conductive pattern patterned by a method in which a conductive material is deposited and printed on the window 152 itself or a separate film. As the conductive material, ITO (Indium Tin Oxide), CNT (Carbon Nano Tube), conductive polymer, In2O3, SnO2, Au and the like can be used.

The touch sensor may be formed in a film form and attached to the rear surface of the window 152. In this case, an adhesive layer may be disposed between the window 152 and the touch sensor. As the adhesive layer, OCA (Optical Clear Adhesive), SVR (Super View Resin), or the like may be used.

As such, the display 151 and the window 152 may be configured as the display unit 150 and may be modularized into one assembly. In particular, when the touch sensor is provided, the display unit 150 operates as a touch screen.

The front case 101 may include a hollow portion 101b corresponding to the display 151, and a frame 104 may be disposed on the rear surface of the display 151 so as to cover the hollow portion 101b. The frame 104 may be formed of a metal sheet such as stainless steel or magnesium, and may be fixed to the front case 101 by using a screw, an adhesive sheet, or the like.

The frame 104 includes a support 104a and an isolation 104b.

The support 104a is made to support the display 151. The support part 104a may be formed to cover most of the rear surface of the display 151. A pad 105 may be disposed between the support 104a and the display 151 to reduce the shock transmitted between them. In this figure, the pad 105 is formed in the form of a loop.

The isolation part 104b is disposed such that at least one portion is spaced apart from the support part 104a at a predetermined interval. In this figure, the frame 104 is divided into the support part 104a and the isolation part 104b by the slit 104c. The isolation unit 104b may be disposed to be spaced apart from the display 151 by the pad 105 described above.

The sound output device 161 is mounted to the isolation unit 104b, and the sound output device 161 is electrically connected to the circuit board 180 to generate vibration under the control of the controller. The sound output element 161 is configured to generate sound through the vibration of the air due to the vibration, or to transmit the sound in a bone conduction manner. The sound output element 161 may be, for example, a bone conduction speaker, a bone conduction receiver, or the like.

Bone conduction speakers or bone conduction receivers refer to the transmission of sound in a bone conduction manner. Bone conduction includes a bone conduction oscillator, which is a transducer that converts an electrical signal into a vibration signal, and utilizes a phenomenon in which sound is transmitted to the skull and transmitted directly to the inner ear without passing through the eardrum. It is a concept that corresponds to air conduction, in which sound in the air reaches the inner ear through the ear canal, the eardrum, and the scavenging bones. A bone conduction transducer is attached to a bone conduction speaker or a bone conduction receiver, and the bone conduction oscillator acts as a vibrating speaker that transmits sound by converting an electrical signal into a vibration signal.

Referring to the drawings, the sound output device 161 is configured to transmit the vibration generated by being mounted to the isolation unit 104b to the window 152. Since the isolation part 104b is coupled to the front case 101, and the window 152 is mounted to the mounting part 101a of the front case 101, the vibration passes through the isolation part 104b and the front case 101. It is delivered to the window 152, and the user can hear the sound through the vibration as the head contacts the window 152 during the call.

In this case, the isolation part 104b is spaced apart from the support part 104a by the slit 104c and spaced apart from the display 151 by the pad 105 disposed between the support part 104a and the display 151. Vibration transmission to 104a and display 151 is limited. Therefore, the transmission path of vibration can be reduced, so that the loss of vibration can be reduced, and the echo phenomenon caused by the separation of the transmission path can be reduced. That is, in the mobile terminal 100 having the bone conduction type sound output element 161, a more efficient sound output mechanism may be implemented.

Referring to FIG. 3, the isolation part 104b may be formed in a cantilever shape that is elastically deformable by the slit 104c, and the acoustic output element 161 may be mounted on the isolation part 104b to be similar to the free vibration level. Can be acted upon. In addition, the isolation unit 104b may be disposed adjacent to an end of the terminal body to ensure mounting of the audio output device 161 and to transmit vibration in a shorter path toward the window 152.

3 and 4, at least a part of the sound output device 161 may be disposed to overlap the edge region S in the thickness direction of the window 152. According to the above structure, the sound output element 161 is disposed closer to the mounting portion 101a, so that the vibration can be more efficiently transmitted to the window 152 mounted to the mounting portion 101a.

In addition, at least a portion of the sound output device 161 may be disposed to overlap the display 151 in the thickness direction of the window 152. According to the above structure, the bezel may be narrower than the case where the sound output device 161 is disposed on the side of the display 151.

The circuit board 180 is formed with a cutout 180a in which the sound output device 161 is disposed. More specifically, the circuit board 180 is formed to be cut from one side, and a cutout 180a penetrating the circuit board 180 is formed, and the sound output device 161 is disposed at the cutout 180a. According to this configuration, the sound output device 161 may be disposed to penetrate the circuit board 180, thereby allowing a more compact component layout. Furthermore, the mountability of the sound output device 161 can be ensured, and since it is disposed adjacent to one end of the terminal, vibration can be transmitted in a shorter path toward the user's head during use.

The rear case 102 is coupled to the front case 101 and disposed to cover the sound output element 161. The rear case 102 may have a discharge hole 102a for discharging the surrounding air of the sound output device 161. The discharge hole 102a may be formed at a portion of the rear case 102 facing or adjacent to the sound output device 161. Through this, the ringing phenomenon occurring at the rear surface of the sound output device 161 may be alleviated or eliminated.

In addition, a through hole 103a may be formed in the cover 103 of the battery 191 to correspond to the discharge hole 102a. The through hole 103a may be formed as a single hole formed separately from or integrated with the sound discharge hole of the sound output module 160 'provided at the rear of the terminal body. Figure 2 shows a hole of the integrated form. In addition, the discharge hole 102a and / or the through hole 103a may be equipped with a filter for preventing the inflow of foreign matter.

The sound output element 161 is disposed to face the rear case 102 in a state of being mounted on the rear surface of the isolation unit 104b, and is disposed between the sound output element 161 and the rear case 102 as a rear case 102. The first damping pad 106 may be installed to reduce the transmitted vibration. The first damping pad 106 may be formed to surround the discharge hole 102a and may be formed of a sponge, silicon, rubber, or the like capable of elastic deformation.

The rear case 102 is formed with a battery accommodating part 190 in which the battery 191 is accommodated. The bottom surface of the battery accommodating part 190 on which the battery 191 is seated may be implemented by the frame 104. The battery 191 may be built in the battery accommodating part 190 or may be detachably configured.

The rear case 102 is detachably mounted to the battery 191 cover 103 covering the battery 191. As described above, the through hole 103a corresponding to the discharge hole 102a may be formed in the cover 103 of the battery 191. A second damping pad 107 may be disposed between the rear case 102 and the cover 103 of the battery 191 to reduce vibrations transmitted from the sound output device 161. The second damping pad 107 may be formed to surround the through hole 103a and may be formed of a material that is elastically deformable.

Hereinafter, modifications of the above structure and other embodiments of the present invention will be described. In the following description, the same or similar reference numerals are assigned to the same or similar configurations as the foregoing embodiments, and the description is replaced with the first description.

5A and 5B are conceptual views illustrating modified examples of mounting structures of the acoustic output devices 261 and 361, and the front cases 201 and 301 are viewed from the rear.

Referring to FIG. 5A, the support 204a and the isolation 204b may be different members. The isolation unit 204b may be fixed to the rear end of the front case 201 using a screw 241, an adhesive sheet, or the like. At this time, the part to which the screw 241 is fastened becomes a fixed end, and the part which is not supported by the front case 201 and puts in the internal space becomes a free end. The acoustic output element 261 is installed at the free end to form a free vibration level.

The support part 204a is comprised by a separate member, and is spaced apart from the isolation part 204b at regular intervals. The support part 204a may be fixed to the front case 201 using a screw 242, an adhesive sheet, and the like along the rear edge of the front case 201 except for the portion where the isolation part 204b is disposed. The support part 204a may be formed to surround at least a portion of the sound output element 261.

The support part 204a and the isolation part 204b may be formed in a thin sheet form and may be formed by injecting synthetic resin, or may be formed of a metal material such as stainless steel (STS) or magnesium (Mg). The support part 204a and the isolation part 204b may be formed of the same material or different materials.

According to the above structure, the vibration generated in the acoustic output element 261 is transmitted to the support part 204a and the display 251 as compared with the previous structure in which the support part 204a and the isolation part 204b are partitioned by the slit 204c. It may be less transmitted, and may be more concentrated in a path in which the vibration is transmitted to the window 252 via the front case 201.

Referring to FIG. 5B, the support part 304a is disposed to cover the rear surface of the front case 301. The isolation portion 304b may be formed in one region in the support portion 304a. In detail, a loop-shaped slit 304c is formed at a portion of the frame 304 adjacent to the end of the front case 301 to form an isolation portion 304b therein, and an acoustic output element at the isolation portion 304b. 361) is installed.

The support portion 304a and the isolation portion 304b may be connected by the bridge portion 304d. The bridge portion 304d is thinly formed so as to be elastically deformable, so that the isolation portion 304b is independently elastically capable while being fixed to the support portion 304a. Thus, the sound output element 361 installed in the isolation unit 304b can operate similarly to the free vibration level. In this case, the slit 304c is configured to limit the transmission of the vibration generated from the sound output element 361 to the support 304a and the display 351.

5A and 5B can be selectively applied to the mounting structure of the sound output elements 461, 561, and 661 to be described later.

6 is a cross-sectional view of a mobile terminal 400 according to another embodiment of the present invention.

Referring to FIG. 6, a locking groove 401a ′ is formed on an upper surface of the mounting portion 401a. The locking groove 401a 'may be formed at a portion adjacent to the display 451 in the mounting portion 401a. At least one hook portion 404b 'is formed in the isolation portion 404b so that the hook portion 404b' is formed to be mounted in the hook groove 401a '. The locking hook 404b 'may be more firmly fixed to the locking groove 401a' through the adhesive member.

The hook hook 404b 'may be configured to support the window 452 together with the mounting portion 401a. According to the above structure, the vibration generated from the sound output element 461 is directly transmitted to the window 452 via the isolation unit 404b. That is, since it does not go through the front case 401, the loss of the vibration can be further reduced.

FIG. 7 is a conceptual diagram illustrating a modification of the mounting structure of the sound output device 461 illustrated in FIG. 6.

Referring to FIG. 7, the locking grooves 501a 'are formed on adjacent surfaces forming the corners of the mounting portion 501a, respectively. The isolation part 504b is mounted to the front case 501 by the locking hook 504b 'being caught by the locking groove 501a'. In this figure, it is shown that the isolation unit 504b is installed at one side edge of the terminal body. The isolation unit 504b is disposed to cover a part of the corner of the display 551, but is spaced apart from each other at a predetermined interval so as not to be in direct contact.

The support part 504a is formed as a separate member from the isolation part 504b, is coupled to the front case 501, and is disposed to be spaced apart from the isolation part 504b to cover and cover the rest of the display 551. As described above, a pad 505 may be disposed between the display 551 and the support 504a to reduce shock transmission therebetween and be spaced apart from the isolation 504b. The support part 504a may be mounted on the rear surface of the front case 501 as shown, or may be fixed to the front case 501 in a groove / hook structure such as the isolation part 504b.

8 is a cross-sectional view of a mobile terminal 600 according to another embodiment of the present invention.

Referring to FIG. 8, the isolation part 604b may be integrally formed with the front case 601. That is, the front case 601 may include a seating portion 601a and a receiving portion 601b recessed at different depths from one surface. The display 651 is accommodated in the receiving portion 601b, and the window 652 is mounted to the seating portion 601a and disposed to cover the display 651.

An acoustic output element 661 is mounted on the rear surface of the accommodating part 601b and is configured to transmit sound using bone conduction vibration. A slit 604c is formed in the accommodating part 601b to partition the support part 604a for supporting the display 651 and the isolation part 604b in which the sound output element 661 is installed. The display 651 and the isolation part 604b may be spaced apart by a pad 605 disposed between the display 651 and the support part 604a.

According to the above structure, since the support part 604a and the isolation part 604b are formed by the front case 601 itself, a separate frame 604 is unnecessary. In addition, since vibration is transmitted directly to the window 652 via the front case 601, a more efficient vibration transmission mechanism can be implemented.

The mobile terminal described above is not limited to the configuration and method of the embodiments described above, but the embodiments may be configured by selectively combining all or a part of the embodiments so that various modifications may be made.
