Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method of forming a selective metal pattern using a laser.
종래에는 LITI(Laser Induced Thermal Imaging) 및 LIFT(Laser Induced Forward Transfer)와 같은 금속패턴 형성방법이 있었다. Conventionally, there has been a method of forming a metal pattern such as laser induced thermal imaging (LITI) and laser induced forward transfer (LIFT). This will be described below.
First, LITI is a method of coating a material (mainly a polymer series) to form a pattern on a source substrate. Between the source substrate and the coating material is coated with a heat conversion layer that can absorb the laser light and convert it into heat and irradiates the laser. When the laser is irradiated, the coating material is transferred to the acceptor substrate by the heat and pressure generated by the heat conversion layer. Important parameters in the LITI method depend on the adhesion between the source substrate and the coating material, the adhesion between the coating material and the acceptor substrate, and the interface characteristics of the two bonding surfaces. Transfer occurs by cohesion between the coating materials.
LITI has a disadvantage that the surface of the electrode pattern is uneven and the pattern shape is not uniform due to the interfacial properties and adhesion between the source substrate, the acceptor substrate, and the coating material. In addition, pattern formation is difficult when there are irregularities such as another electrode wiring on the acceptor substrate. Since thermal diffusion occurs around the laser irradiation area, a pattern having a line width larger than the laser focus is produced, and since the cohesive force of the pattern is strong, the pattern shape of the pattern boundary portion has a large edge roughness. In addition, it is impossible to apply to metals due to the characteristics of LITI. The reason for this is that the metal must have adhesive properties in order to be transferred, and in order to be hot, it causes damage to the acceptor substrate.
한편, LIFT(Laser Induced Forward Transfer)는 유리와 같은 경한 기판에 금속을 코팅한 후, 레이저를 조사하는 방식이다. On the other hand, LIFT (Laser Induced Forward Transfer) is a method of irradiating a laser after coating a metal on a hard substrate such as glass. By using this method, the pressure between the coating material and the source substrate increases, and when a value sufficient to be separated from the source substrate is reached, the metal pattern is transferred to the acceptor substrate.
In this manner, particles are generated in a metal pattern in the process of being transferred from the source substrate to the acceptor substrate, and particles are scattered to the acceptor substrate. This phenomenon has a problem that is more severe when the metal nanoparticles organic ink is used than the metal coating deposited in a vacuum state. And because of coating with metal, it is impossible to form a pattern having a line width smaller than the focus of the laser due to thermal diffusion during laser irradiation.

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for forming a selective metal pattern using a laser capable of selectively and quickly forming a metal pattern.
Method for forming a selective metal pattern using a laser of the invention according to claim 1, the method comprising: coating a metal nanoparticle organic ink on the source substrate; Heating the source substrate in a hot plate to remove organic matter of the metal nanoparticle organic ink so that only metal nanoparticles are present; Contacting a surface of the source substrate on which the metal nanoparticles are present with an acceptor substrate; Irradiating a laser on a surface of the source substrate opposite to a surface on which the metal nanoparticles are present, sintering the metal nanoparticles of the laser irradiated portion to selectively form a metal pattern; And separating the source substrate from the acceptor substrate so that the shape of the metal pattern is present on the acceptor substrate.

The shape and the size of the elements in the drawings may be exaggerated for clarity and the same elements are denoted by the same reference numerals in the drawings.
1 is a flowchart of a method for forming a selective metal pattern using a laser according to the present invention.
First, the metal nanoparticles organic ink is coated on a source substrate (S100). The metal nanoparticle organic ink has a size of 2 to 100 nm. When coating a metal nanoparticle organic ink, coating is performed using any one of various coating methods, such as spin coating, blade coating, or roll coating.
After the step S100, by heating the source substrate in a hot plate, to remove the organic material of the metal nanoparticles organic ink so that only the metal nanoparticles are present (S200). The temperature for heating the source substrate is a temperature at which the organic material of the metal nanoparticle organic ink is evaporated and the metal nanoparticles are not sintered. For example, if the metal nanoparticle organic ink is silver (Ag), the source substrate is heated to 90 ~ 230 ℃.
(S300).After step S200, the surface of the source substrate on which the metal nanoparticles are present is contacted with an acceptor substrate (S300).
After the step S300, by irradiating a laser on the surface opposite to the surface of the metal nanoparticles on the small substrate, the metal nanoparticles of the laser irradiated portion is sintered to selectively form a metal pattern (S400). When irradiating a laser, the size of the metal pattern is adjusted by controlling the output, the moving speed, the pulse width, and the repetition rate of the laser, respectively.
After the step S400, the source substrate and the acceptor substrate are spaced apart so that the shape of the metal pattern is present on the acceptor substrate (S500).
2A to 2E are cross-sectional views illustrating a manufacturing process by a method of forming a selective metal pattern using a laser according to the present invention. Referring to Figures 2a to 2e, the manufacturing method by the selective metal pattern forming method using the laser of Figure 1 will be described in detail.
As shown in FIG. 2A, the metal nanoparticle
As shown in FIG. 2B, the
As shown in FIG. 2C, the surface of the
As shown in FIG. 2D, the
In the embodiment of the present invention, a CW (Continuous Wave) laser is used, which is a laser capable of continuously oscillating at a constant output. When irradiating the
As shown in FIG. 2E, the
3A to 3B are perspective views illustrating a step of separating the source substrate and the acceptor substrate according to the present invention. Referring to FIGS. 3A to 3B, the separation process between the source substrate and the acceptor substrate of FIG. 2 will be described in detail.
As shown in FIG. 3A, before the
As shown in FIG. 3B, after the
