Description

METHOD FOR PROVIDING E-MAIL CONTENT USING MOVEMENT SENSING DEVICE AND APPARATUS THEREFOF}

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing e-mail content using a motion detection device. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method and apparatus for allowing a user to easily and quickly check a part of an email using a motion detection device mounted on the portable terminal when checking an email using the portable terminal.

In general, various electronic devices are being made through the development of electronic communication technology, and these devices are increasingly emphasizing the user's ease of operation and the beautifulness of the design. Highlighted by this trend is the change from an input device represented by a keyboard or keypad to an input device such as a display.

In particular, in the case of a mobile terminal such as a smart phone, a tablet PC, a portable multimedia player, and a mobile phone, an additional hardware keyboard is provided for intuitive user input, user convenience, and user aesthetics. Minimizing the number of keypads, buttons, etc., the user input device such as the display unit is being adopted as a main input device.

The touch screen is an input device in which a sensor is embedded in a screen and a user input is made by a method in which a sensor detects this by touching a specific object on the touch screen using a hand or a stylus pen.

Meanwhile, various functions of portable electronic devices are integrated into one portable terminal, and intelligent high-performance portable terminals that support computer functions such as the Internet and communication information retrieval such as smart phones are rapidly becoming common. Accordingly, there is a demand for an input method capable of using, checking, accessing, and controlling detailed data related to various specific contents or programs more easily and quickly.

However, in the case of a mobile terminal employing a user input device such as a touch screen as a main input device, a user input interface corresponding to various operation modes is provided to the user in various ways, and the user can intuitively perform the corresponding input. Although there is an advantage in that it is possible, detailed methods related to various contents or files, etc. are not presenting an effective way for a user to more easily and quickly use, view, access, and control.

For this reason, in recent years, such a touch screen and a pointing device have tended to be mounted in one terminal.

Here, the pointing device is a pointing device and when a user moves a finger on the contact surface of the pointing device, the cursor (or pointer) moves on the screen according to the direction of finger movement. Such pointing devices may use infrared rays, lasers, electric field sensors, capacitors, thermistors, or the like to detect finger movements.

An object of the present invention, when a user checks an e-mail using a mobile terminal, it is possible to easily and quickly check the e-mail content using a motion detection device mounted on the mobile terminal.

The present invention relates to an email content providing device using a motion detection device, comprising: a display unit for displaying an email list on a screen; A movement detecting device for detecting a user's finger movement; And a controller configured to display a part of a specific email item displayed on the email list in a pop-up window in response to the motion detection signal input from the motion detection device.

According to an embodiment of the present invention, when a user checks an e-mail using a mobile terminal, an e-mail content can be easily and quickly checked using a motion detection device mounted on the mobile terminal.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings so that those skilled in the art may easily implement the present invention. The present invention may, however, be embodied in many different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein. In the drawings, parts irrelevant to the description are omitted in order to clearly describe the present invention, and like reference numerals designate like parts throughout the specification.

Throughout the specification, when a part is said to 'include' a certain component, it means that it can further include other components, except to exclude other components unless otherwise stated.

A mobile terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention is a terminal for providing an e-mail transmission and reception service through a network, and preferably, the mobile terminal can be applied to a mobile terminal such as a smartphone, a tablet PC, a mobile phone, a personal information terminal, and the like. Will be self explanatory.

Hereinafter, a method and apparatus for providing e-mail content using a motion detection apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

1 is a perspective view of a mobile terminal according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a block diagram illustrating the configuration of the portable terminal of FIG. 1. 3 and 4 are exemplary views for explaining a method and a device for providing email contents using a motion detection apparatus according to the present invention. Here, in FIG. 2, reference numeral 11 denotes a housing of the portable terminal, reference numeral 12 denotes a display unit, and reference numeral 100 denotes a pointing device (motion sensing device).

1 and 2, the mobile terminal 10 according to the present invention includes a motion detecting apparatus 100, a display unit 110, a memory 130, a communication unit 140, an audio processor 150, and a controller ( 160).

The display unit 110 is controlled by the controller 160 to display a series of operation states, operation results, and a plurality of pieces of information made in the portable terminal 10. For example, an email list as shown in FIG. 3 is displayed on the screen. In addition, the display unit 110 displays a partial content of a specific email item included in the email list to the user under a control of the controller 160 in a popup window.

The display unit 110 may be combined with a touch panel (not shown), and may detect an input signal according to a user's touch operation on the display unit 12 and transmit the detected input signal to the controller 160. That is, when the user's finger touches a specific position on the display unit 12, the display unit 110 may transmit the position coordinates corresponding to the touched position to the controller 160.

The display unit 110 may be configured as a display device such as an LCD, an OLED, and an LED. In addition, the display unit 110 may detect an input signal according to a user's touch position, touch intensity, and touch direction on the display unit 12, and may be implemented in various forms such as a current sensing method and a pressure sensing method.

The memory 130 stores an application program for operating a function according to an embodiment of the present invention. The memory 130 includes a program area and a data area. The program area is linked between an operating system (OS) and functional elements for booting the mobile terminal, and corresponds to a specific e-mail item displayed in an e-mail list on the screen 12 in response to a user's operation of the motion detection apparatus 100. A program is saved that allows some content to be displayed in a popup window. The data area is an area in which data generated according to the use of the mobile terminal 10 is stored, and the email data transmitted and received is stored.

The communication unit 140 establishes a communication channel between the mobile terminal 10 and the base station and is responsible for a series of communication for transmitting and receiving necessary signals. In addition, the communication unit 140 may include a radio frequency (RF) transmitter for upconverting and amplifying a frequency of a transmitted signal, and an RF receiver for low noise amplifying and downconverting a received signal.

The audio processor 150 reproduces an audio signal output from the controller 160 or transmits an audio signal such as a voice input from a microphone MIC to the controller 160. That is, the audio processor 150 converts the voice and sound data into an audible sound through the speaker SPK under the control of the controller 160, and outputs the audio signal such as a voice received from the microphone MIC. Transfer to the controller 160.

The controller 160 controls the overall operation of the mobile terminal 10 and the signal flow between the internal blocks. In particular, the controller 160 determines whether a motion detection signal corresponding to a user's finger movement is input from the motion detection apparatus 100 while the e-mail list is displayed on the screen 12 of the portable terminal 10. Accordingly, the corresponding function according to the present invention is executed. Here, the motion detection signal includes a push detection signal according to a press gesture of a user finger and a swipe detection signal according to a swipe gesture of the user finger. The push detection signal may be a signal generated by a hardware click of the motion detection apparatus 100 (ie, a Dome click signal) or a signal generated by a software click of the motion detection apparatus 100 (ie, a long click). term press signal).

More specifically, the controller 160 displays the email list on the screen 12 (see FIG. 3), when a motion detection signal is input from the motion detection apparatus 100, the email included in the email list. Some contents of a specific item (eg, the first email item) among the items are displayed in a popup window (see FIG. 4).

In addition, the controller 160 determines whether a swipe detection signal is input from the motion detection apparatus 100 in a state where a part of the specific email item is displayed as a pop-up window. When the swipe detection signal is input from the motion detection apparatus 100, the controller 160 detects a swipe displacement of the user's finger based on the swipe detection signal. In addition, the controller 160 displays a partial content of another email item (eg, the second email item) included in the email list in a popup window according to the detected swipe displacement (FIG. 2). 5).

For example, in a state in which a part of the first email item is displayed as a pop-up window as shown in FIG. 4, the controller 160 has a displacement value of the swipe detection signal input from the motion detection apparatus 100 (x, If y) = (0,1), a partial pop-up window displays the contents of the second email item directly below the first email item, and the displacement value of the swipe detection signal received from the motion detection device 100 is (x, If y) = (0,2), it displays a popup window with some details about the third email item.

The motion detection apparatus 100 according to the present invention detects a movement of a subject (finger) and transmits a motion detection signal corresponding thereto to the controller 160. The motion detection apparatus 100 may use a touch pad, a display unit, a trackball, a scroll wheel, or an infrared (IR) laser, a laser, an electric field, a capacitor, or a thermistor. It may be implemented in various forms including a mobile pointing device for detecting a movement.

Here, the subject may be generally understood to be a user's body part such as a finger, but may be any other replaceable object that enables the motion detecting apparatus 100 to detect movement even if it is not the body.

When using an email application in a mobile terminal that provides only an existing touch input interface, in order to check the contents of the email items included in the email list, the user touches a specific area 1 on the screen displaying the corresponding date. After touching, you had to check through the contents of the email displayed as a page transition on the screen.

In other words, in the existing mobile terminal that provides only a touch-based input interface, it is necessary to repeat unnecessary 'depth movement' in order to check the e-mail contents sent and received by the user. Discomfort followed.

However, according to the present invention, there is an effect that can easily and quickly check the e-mail content using the motion detection device mounted on the portable terminal.

As described above, an optimal embodiment has been disclosed in the drawings and specification. Although specific terms have been employed herein, they are used for purposes of illustration only and are not intended to limit the scope of the invention as defined in the claims or the claims. Therefore, those skilled in the art will understand that various modifications and equivalent other embodiments are possible from this.
