Abstract

PURPOSE: A snow tire having improved vertical grooves is provided to improve driving performance on a snowy road by using projected portions formed in vertical grooves and water drain performance by using horizontal grooves. CONSTITUTION: A snow tire having improved vertical grooves comprises a tread(1), a side wall, and a bead portion. A vertical groove(2) and a horizontal groove(3) are formed in the grounding portion of the tread. A projected portion(4) is formed in the vertical groove. The projected portion is extended to the lower portion of a shoulder wall(22) from the tread center wall(21) of a vertical groove. The end portion(41) of the projected portion heads to the end portion of the rear wall(31) of the horizontal groove.
