Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a simulated moving bed (SMB) process method using a continuous feedback flow control method using a liquid flow controller during an adsorptive separation process, and more specifically, to each column using a pump. When supplying fluids (Feed, Desorbent, Raffinate, Extract) to the liquid, each fluid flows through the column, so the flow rate of the pump cannot be controlled accurately. The present invention relates to a feedback flow control system and a process method that allow for optimized separation by controlling.
In general, Simulated Moving Bed (SMB) technology moves the mobile and stationary phases counter-current in batch chromatography, while each component and stationary phase of the mixture is countercurrent. Due to the difference in the adsorption strength between the materials, the moving bed chromatography (True Moving Bed) technology is used between each column to move the materials in the direction of the fixed phase and to remove the non-adsorbed materials in the direction of the mobile phase. It is a continuous separation chromatography process that simulates the movement of the stationary phase while being equipped with a valve capable of continuously changing the flow of the mobile phase.
In order to achieve the desired separation in the continuous simulated moving bed, the column switching interval, the discharge flow rate of each separator, the circulating solvent flow rate, etc. must be precisely controlled. The process variables are highly time-varying and non-linear. There are many difficulties in changing the control element while simultaneously monitoring the variables.
Therefore, there is a need for a control and processing method that can more easily access a complex control system, which is a disadvantage of the conventional simulated moving bed device, and can be designed and operated in a structure that can be easily used by a user.

Chromatography, including simulated moving bed processes, is generally operated at room temperature, and is particularly suitable for separation of heat sensitive pharmaceutical preparations and herbal preparations. In addition, in the simulated moving bed process, the mobile phase is regenerated and recycled in the apparatus, thereby reducing the cost and energy required for the mobile phase regeneration.
