Description

폐아스콘 100%를 도로포장에 재사용하기 위한 온도조정 개질 재생아스콘의 조성물과 그 제조방법{Temperature-Controlled Modified Recycling Mixes for Reuse of 100% RAP in Road Pavements and Manufacturing Methods thereof}TEMPERATURE-CONTROLLED MODIFIED REcycling Mixes for Reuse of 100% RAP in Road Pavements and Manufacturing Methods

In general, ascon is a mixture of asphalt binder, coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, and filling material (limestone powder), and is widely used for pavement construction of various roads and parking lots. Such asphalt pavement gradually loses its inherent flexibility as the asphalt binder on the pavement reacts slowly with oxygen in the air during public use. This phenomenon is called oxidative aging of asphalt pavement. If oxidative aging progresses for a long time, serious cracking occurs on the pavement surface and the pavement life is finally terminated.

When maintenance of the pavement occurs due to common problems (plastic deformation or fatigue crack, etc.) in the asphalt pavement of various roads, when the asphalt pavement of the road is expanded, when the pavement is excavated for laying sewer pipes, wires or cables As a result, a significant amount of waste ascon is generated when the pavement is repaved.

Since the asphalt pavement has already been exposed to the air for a long time, the collected waste ascone inevitably includes a partially oxidized asphalt binder. If it is simply mixed with new materials and repacked without proper action against oxidized aging asphalt in waste ascon, severe cracking occurs shortly after packing. Therefore, until now, most of the waste ascon has not been reused for road pavement construction, but has been mainly used for filling or reclamation. However, recently, it has been recognized that waste ascon is a valuable natural resource. Government policies to reuse waste ascon for road pavement are being strongly pursued in each country due to the increase in the amount of ascon, the increase of road construction costs due to waste disposal costs, and the reduction of material cost due to the use of cheap waste ascon. As a result, private companies are actively participating in the waste ascon recycling business. Although there are some differences, so far, almost the same waste ascon recycling technology is applied worldwide.

The existing waste ascon recycling technology has been mainly used on secluded roads with low traffic volume due to the deterioration of the quality of recycled packaging, and its use has been limited to less than 25% when applied to major roads. If more than 25% is used in the main road, the ratio of waste ascone addition is defined as high. The limited amount of use requires solving the problem of the accumulation of extra asbestos, the waste disposal cost, environmental pollution and waste of resources. Therefore, there is an urgent need for the development of recycling technology for more waste ascon use.

The existing waste ascon recycling technology aims to restore the properties of new asphalt pavement of normal quality by mixing together new materials (new aggregate and new asphalt binder), oil-based regeneration additive, and waste ascon. For this reason, existing recycled ascon properties are often less than new ascon properties. The main reason is that the mixing design always proceeds to the state of the closed ascon before the regeneration, but the actual regeneration takes place in the subsequent process, which does not match the mixing design at all. In the regeneration process, no additional measures for oxidative aging of waste ascon due to heating are taken into account, so the restoration of properties to new ascon is impossible and the quality deteriorates. For this reason, the conventional recycled packaging of waste ascon is not free from problems such as the occurrence of potholes due to fatigue cracking, plastic deformation and delamination. Therefore, it is considered to be unsuitable for use as a paving material on the main road, and there is still a tendency to avoid the existing recycling technology.

In the general new ascon manufacturing process, the new aggregate is heated to 160 or more in a drum dryer (Drum Dryer) is introduced into the mixer, and the new asphalt is sprayed into the liquid phase while already heated to 170 and mixed together. On the other hand, the waste ascon should heat the waste aggregate at room temperature and the coated asphalt together in the drum mixer together to raise the temperature within a short time. The burner heating temperature of the drum mixer is higher to 200-350 instead of 160-200 of the new ascon. It is common. To maintain high temperatures, fuel costs increase, carbon dioxide gas generation increases, and oxidation aging at higher temperatures (oxidation aging proceeds more rapidly at higher temperatures) causes the brittleness of materials to increase. .

In conclusion, the existing waste ascon recycling technology uses less waste ascon, the quality of recycled ascon is not excellent (plastic deformation and fatigue crack resistance, prevention of pothole generation), and the production temperature inside the drum mixer is oxidized due to high temperature. Aging is large and has a problem of generating a large amount of harmful gas, and due to lack of technology, it is not able to meet the demand for recycled ascon.

The prior art research on recycled ascon is as follows. Korean Patent No. 0317436 limits the mixing ratio of waste ascon to 30% to 50% when recycling waste ascon. In addition, SBR latex (Latex), EVA, SBS is added with recycled additives to improve the physical properties of recycled ascon. , Polymer modifiers such as SIS, waste tire powders of maximum size 2, and the like are mixed together at high temperature. The method not only limits the waste ascon content to 30-50% of the new material, it is difficult to expect excellent physical properties because the modification effect of the polymer modifier is also dilute in the presence of the old asphalt binder and the new asphalt binder. In addition, additional equipment, processes, and transport costs are required to transport new aggregates, new asphalt binders and reforming additives to recycled ascon production plants or production sites, which leads to complex regeneration processes and significantly reduced economic benefits. It also does not consider the problem of high production temperatures at all.

Korean Patent Registration No. 0284998 discloses a method for producing a high performance modified recycled asphalt mixture for road pavement using fly ash and organic fibers in order to improve physical properties while limiting the amount of waste ascon. However, these attempts also have common problems, as pointed out earlier, which require less equipment for waste ascon, poor mechanical properties or additional equipment and processes to incorporate different materials. There is also no solution for high production temperatures.

Korean Patent Registration No. 0781608 proposes the usage of waste ascon at 100%, and discloses a method of adding a regeneration modifier to secure the excellent physical properties of recycled ascon. No consideration is given and no solutions for high temperature production temperatures are available. It is difficult to avoid problems such as prevention of portholes, additional aging problems, increased greenhouse gas emissions and increased production of recycled ascon.

Accordingly, in the present invention, in order to restore the oxidized aging waste ascon to the quality of the new ascon, the existing waste ascon recycling technology for adding new materials (new aggregates, new asphalt binders, fillers, etc.) and regeneration additives to the waste ascon is essential. Alternatively, the temperature-modified reformed ascon is produced by mixing the entire amount of waste ascon with the regeneration modifier and the temperature control additive without using any new materials. In this way, the quality of the old asphalt binder in the waste ascon is directly improved, and the modified asbestos is better than the new ascon, and at the same time, the production temperature and the construction temperature of the recycled ascon are reduced by the addition of temperature control additives, thereby oxidizing at high temperatures. We want to reduce aging, save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. If the new technology development goal is achieved, it is possible to use the entirety of waste ascon without using any new materials. In other words, it is possible to solve the problems of the limitation of the waste ascon consumption, the poor quality of recycled ascon, and the problems of the high temperature production and the construction temperature, which are the problems of the existing waste ascon recycling technology, and the development of the new technology is to achieve the present invention. It is a technical problem.

Looking at the present invention in detail as a means for solving the problem is as follows. The present invention relates to a composition of a temperature-controlled modified recycled ascon for reuse of 100% waste ascone on a road pavement, and to a method for manufacturing the same. Mobile, batch or continuous) mixer is added to the new aggregate inlet, and 0.1-20 parts by weight of the regeneration modifier and 0.1-20 parts by weight of the temperature control additive are added to the waste ascon at the new asphalt input position, and then between 5-180. Mixing uniformly for 0.5-3 minutes at the mixing temperature of the asphalt pavement, characterized in that it is used as a wear layer, surface layer, intermediate layer and base material. Here, the regeneration modifier is composed of at least one of a softener, an elastomer, a thickener, an anti-peeling agent, an inorganic powder, and short fibers to improve the physical properties of the modified reclaimed ascone, and the mesophilic additive is composed of one or more of a hydrating agent, a wax, and a blowing agent to regenerate the regeneration. It has the characteristics to lower the production and construction temperature of ascon.

If the weight of the regeneration modifier is 0.1-20, the regeneration modifier does not have a modification effect at 0.1 or less, and the viscosity is too high at 20 or more, making production and construction of regeneration ascon difficult. The composition of the regenerating modifier is part or all of 0.5-100 wt% of the softener, 0.5-100 wt% of the elastomer, 0.5-100 wt% of the thickener, 0.1-20 wt% of the anti-peeling agent, and 0.5-100 wt% of the inorganic powder and short fibers. And the proportion of the regeneration modifier when composed of one or more groups is arbitrary, but the weight part of the total regeneration modifier should be in the range of 0.1-20 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of waste ascone.

Softener group serves to give flexibility to the oxidized aging hardened ascon, and is a relatively low molecular weight organic compound liquid at room temperature, but has a low melting point even in the solid phase. It accounts for 0.5-100% by weight of the regeneration modifier, and less than 0.5% by weight has little effect of the softener. Examples of softening agents include organic acids (adipic acid, fumaric acid, oxalic acid, (maleic) maleic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, palmitic acid, terephthalic acid or lauric acid, etc.), organic acid salts, hydrocarbon oils, aromatic oils, aliphatic oils, Heavy oil, various recycled additives, Benzen Toluene Xylene (BTX) oil, asphalt binder for road paving, plasticizer (Dibutylphthalate), DOP (Dioctylphthalate), PPA (Polypropyleneadipate), MMA (Methymethacrylate) liquid, unsaturated polyester (Unsaturated) Polyester) liquid, PU (Polyurethane) liquid, animal oil (beef oil, pork oil, dog oil, various fish oils, etc.), vegetable oils (soybean oil, corn oil, sesame oil, perilla oil, cottonseed oil, sesame oil, etc.) Mixed oils, castor oils, mineral oils, phosphoric acid, starch, sulfur, automotive and industrial waste oils and mixtures thereof and the like.

The elastic group serves to impart elasticity to the hardened waste ascon and to impart resistance to various cracks (low temperature crack, fatigue crack, impact crack, etc.) to the modified reclaimed ascon. It accounts for 0.5-100% by weight of the regeneration modifier, and there is little improvement in performance below 0.5% by weight. That is, since the regeneration modifier occupies 0.1-20 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of waste ascon, a minimum weight of 0.5% means that the regeneration modifier comprises an elastic body up to 0.1 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of waste ascon. Has little effect on the increase of elasticity of modified recycled ascon.

The anti-peel agent group is added to increase the adhesive force at the interface between the aggregate and the asphalt binder in the temperature-controlled modified ascon pavement to prevent the generation of photo holes in the reclaimed packaging due to water penetration after rain. Most modifiers contain a double bond, a carbonyl group, or some carboxyl acid, which have good affinity with water, and after rain, experience severe photoholes due to delamination of the material interface. have. The release protective agent group occupies 0.1-10% by weight of the regeneration modifier, less than 0.1% by weight of the pothole preventive effect and more than 10% by weight is expensive and uneconomical. Examples of release inhibitors for pothole prevention are liquid or soluble solid amine groups, such as aniline, 1-naphtylamine, N-cyclohexylamine and diphenylamine. (dipheny amine), N-methylaniline, dicyclohexylamine, P-phenylene-diamine, 1,3,5-triaminobenzene (1,3,5-triamino-benzene ), Ethylene-diamine, diethylene-triamine, hexamethyl-diamine, P-phenyl-diamine, pyridine, pyrrole And all compounds belonging to these amine groups and mixtures thereof.

Inorganic powder and short fiber groups are added when it is necessary to enhance the durability and bearing capacity of the temperature-modified modified ascon. It accounts for 0.5-100% by weight of the regeneration modifier, and less than 0.5% by weight has little effect on physical properties. Examples of materials belonging to the inorganic powder and short fiber groups,

무기분말 군으로 경탄, 석회석 분말, 석분, 토너, 실리카, 벤토나이트, 제올라이트, 클레이, 마이카, 카본블랙, 제강 슬래그분말, 고로 슬래그 분말, 각종 시멘트, 플라이 애쉬, 석고, 소석회 및 이들의 혼합물을 포함하며, Inorganic powder groups include hard coal, limestone powder, lime powder, toner, silica, bentonite, zeolite, clay, mica, carbon black, steel slag powder, blast furnace slag powder, various cements, fly ash, gypsum, slaked lime and mixtures thereof ,

The short fiber group includes nylon short fibers, polyester short fibers, PE short fibers, PP short fibers, carbon fiber short fibers, cellulose short fibers, glass short fibers, asbestos, and mixtures thereof. Include.

The temperature control additive refers to an additive for setting the mixing temperature by adding together the waste ascon and the regeneration modifier. Lowering the mixing temperature will reduce heating fuel costs and reduce the generation of environmental pollutant gases. However, it is not possible to lower the temperature as desired by considering the material properties and uses. Looking at the mixing method according to the temperature can be a room temperature mixing (5-40), a semi-mid temperature mixing (40-100), a medium temperature mixing (100-150) and heat mixing (150-180). By appropriately selecting the temperature adjusting additive, any of the above mixing methods can be adopted. If the weight part of the temperature adjusting additive is 0.1-20, the temperature adjusting effect is hardly effective at 0.1 or less, and the viscosity is weak or brittle at 20 or more, so plastic deformation and fatigue cracking can be easily generated.

The mixing temperature is a temperature at which the waste ascon reaches by heating, and the mixing temperature of 5-180 is considered to be room temperature mixing at 5 or more and heat mixing at 180 or less. If the temperature is less than 5, even if the room temperature mixing may cause problems in the construction of the pavement due to the low temperature, at 180 or more it is not preferable because some of the mixed material is pyrolyzed during the heat mixing. The material temperature range is 5-180 wide, the production method is cold mix, half warm mix, warm mix, hot mix This is to make it changeable. The mixing time of 0.5-3 minutes is difficult to ensure uniform mixing at 0.5 minutes or less, and the production is delayed at 3 minutes or more, so there is little practicality.

The composition of the thermoregulating additive for adjusting the mixing temperature is composed of some or all of the group consisting of 0.5-100% by weight of the hydrating agent, 0.5-100% by weight of the wax and 0.5-100% by weight of the blowing agent, and the temperature when composed of one or more groups. Although the proportion of the adjusting additive is arbitrary, the weight part of the total temperature adjusting additive should be in the range of 0.1-20 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the waste ascone.

The hydrating agent can act as a binder of the waste ascon together with the inorganic powder group in the regeneration modifier at room temperature, and thus can be used for recycling 100% of the waste ascon at room temperature. In addition, as the water evaporates at 100, the hydrating agent may also function as a foaming agent to lower the viscosity by foaming old asphalt in waste ascon, thereby allowing for semi-mid-temperature and mid-temperature mixing. Therefore, the hydrating agent is added as a part or a single component of 100 parts by weight of the waste ascon and 0.1-20 parts by weight of the regeneration modifier when mixing at room temperature, semi-mid-temperature mixing or mid-temperature mixing. It may occupy 0.5-100% by weight of the temperature control additive, and below 0.5%, the hydrating agent hardly plays a role as the temperature control additive.

Most waxes have a melting point, and under the melting point, the wax shows a hard physical property, but at a temperature above the melting point, the viscosity suddenly decreases. When the wax is mixed with other materials in the recycling process, the wax suddenly drops the viscosity of other materials above the melting point of the wax to reduce the production of recycled ascon and the construction temperature. The wax is added as a part or a single component of 100 parts by weight of waste ascon and 0.1-20 parts by weight of regeneration modifier in the case of half-temperature mixing or 0.1-20 parts by weight of the temperature adjusting additive. It can account for 0.5-100% by weight of the temperature control additive, and below 0.5% the wax hardly functions as a temperature control additive.

The foaming temperature of the blowing agent for use in asphalt paving should be in the range of at least 50-140. A blowing agent with a foaming temperature of 50-100 can be used for semi-cold mixing, and a blowing agent for 100-140 can be used for mixing in medium temperature. Of course, the hydrating agent can also be called a water-borne foaming agent by evaporating the moisture at 100. The blowing agent serves to form a plurality of micropores by foaming old asphalt or regeneration modifier in waste ascon. These micropores function to lower the viscosity of the mixture to lower production and construction temperatures. The blowing agent is added as a part or a single component of 100 parts by weight of the waste ascon and 0.1-20 parts by weight of the regeneration modifier in the case of half-temperature mixing or 0.1-20 parts by weight of the temperature adjusting additive. The blowing agent may account for 0.5-100% by weight of the temperature regulating additive, and at 0.5% or less, the blowing agent does not function as a temperature regulating additive.

There are two methods for manufacturing temperature-controlled reclaimed ascon: plant recycling or in-place recycling. Plant recycling includes continuous drum mixing and batch mixing. Methods include a heat mixing method by heat milling, a room temperature mixing method by room temperature milling, and a heat mixing method by room temperature milling, and one of them may be used to produce a temperature-controlled reformed ascon.

The continuous drum mixing method as a plant regeneration method is a modified drum mixer that mixes old and new waste materials together, and waste ascon weighed and transferred from cold bins by size instead of new aggregates at new aggregate inlets.

5 parts by weight of SBS, 4 parts by weight of PE, 1 part by weight of stearic acid, 0.1 part by weight of pyrrole and 4 parts by weight of wax were added to the mixer and mixed at 135 for about 30 minutes to prepare a moderate temperature regeneration modifier in the form of uniform fine particles. 100 parts by weight of waste ascone having an arbitrary particle size distribution ground to a maximum particle size of 19 and 1.2 parts by weight of the medium temperature regeneration modifier particles prepared above were put into an oven at 135 and heated for 30 minutes. The heated mixture was placed in a mixer of 135 and mixed for 3 minutes to prepare a mesophilic modified recycled ascon mixture according to the present invention.

The following tests were carried out to grasp the quality characteristics of the mesophilic modified recycled ascon mixture. In a Marshall mold having an internal diameter of 101.6 and a height of 100, 1100 g of the recycled ascon mixture prepared above was compacted and compacted 50 times on both sides to prepare a Marshall specimen having a diameter of 101.6 and a height of 63.5, and repeatedly, 18 pieces were made. The specimens were cured at room temperature for one day and then subjected to Marshall stability test to obtain stability and flow values.

In addition, indirect tensile strength test (ITS) was performed to investigate the behavior of pavement structure. The specimens were Marshall specimens with diameter of 101.6 and height of 63.5 ± 1mm. The loading was carried out at a rate of 50 / min using a loading stand located at the top and bottom of the specimen, and the specimen was stored in a thermostat of 25 hours for 3 hours before the test and immediately taken out.

To determine the plastic deformation resistance, the temperature-adjusted modified recycled ascon mixture prepared in 135 above was weighed 12 kg into a wheel driving test mold, and compacted at a compaction speed of 17 to 23 / sec using a pressure roller having a diameter of 46 to 30 cm ×. A specimen of 30 cm x 5 cm was obtained. The specimens were cured at room temperature for 18 hours, and then placed in a high temperature chamber equipped with a heating and thermostat, and cured at 60 ° C. for 6 hours. Repeated wheel load was applied to the cured specimens to measure the deformation according to the number of driving, and the dynamic stability was measured at the deformation value between 40 and 60 minutes after the driving test. At this time, the test temperature was 60, the wheel ground pressure was 5.6kgf /, the number of wheel passages was 42 times / minute, the wheel driving distance was 23 / time, the repeat driving time was 60 minutes, and the width of the test wheel was 5 and the diameter was 20. Used.

The labeling test was performed to measure the wear resistance by the chain of recycled ascon mixture under cold conditions, and the specimen fabrication process is the same as that of the dynamic stability test. While rotating the table equipped with test specimens at a speed of 5rpm, a wheel with a diameter of 250 and a width of 100 with a total of 12 chains was rotated at 200rpm in a single test, descending to reach the specimen and peeling the surface with a chain. After wear, the amount of wear was measured.

The results are shown in Table 1 below in comparison with new Ascon.

First, it is necessary to recall that the temperature for preparing the mixture specimen of the medium-temperature modified recycled ascon is 135, which is a medium temperature, and the temperature is about 30 less than that of the general new ascon mixture. This lowered temperature means that production is possible even if the ascon production temperature is lowered by about 30, which is expected to reduce heating fuel costs. As can be seen from Table 1, the quality of the medium-temperature modified regenerated ascon mixture using the regeneration modifier according to the present invention is 43% higher than the new ascon, the stability is increased by 32%, the flow value is significantly improved Marshall stability characteristics Is confirmed.

In addition, the indirect tensile strength increased by 38%, the dynamic stability increased by 200%, and the wear amount decreased by 30%, indicating that the mechanical properties and durability were greatly improved.

Through the test results, it was confirmed that the mechanical properties and durability of the flow resistance, abrasion resistance, dynamic stability, crack resistance, etc. of the mesophilic modified reclaimed ascon mixture using the regeneration modifier of the present invention are very excellent.

100 parts by weight of waste ascon with an arbitrary distribution, 19 parts by weight in a mixer at room temperature, 3 parts by weight of clay as a regeneration modifier, 1 part by weight of cement and 0.2 part by weight of P-phenyldiamine, and 69% solids as a temperature control additive. 8 parts by weight of the latex solution was added together and uniformly mixed to prepare a room temperature modified regenerated ascon mixture according to the present invention. According to the test method described in Example 1, each specimen was made at room temperature, cured at room temperature for one day, and then physical properties were measured. The results are shown in Table 2.

In the case of room temperature mixing of Example 2, it can be seen that the physical properties slightly reduced compared to the case of Example 1 which is a medium temperature mixing, but still appears almost the same as the physical properties of the new ascon mixture. In the case of the room temperature mixture, the physical properties are the same as in the case of the new ascon, but there is no heating cost for production and no pollution gas is generated, and thus, there are many advantages of the room temperature modified regenerated ascon.

First, 100 parts by weight of waste ascon having a maximum particle size of 19 mm and an arbitrary distribution is melted, and then put into a mixer of 90, 4 parts by weight of clay, 1 part by weight of cement and 0.1 part by weight of pyridine, and ammonium bicarbonate as a temperature control additive. 4 parts by weight of (Ammonium bicarbonate) was added to the waste ascone and mixed for about 3 minutes. A slight increase in the volume of the asphalt was observed due to foaming during mixing. As described above, a semi-mid temperature modified regenerated ascon mixture was prepared. According to the test method described in Example 1, the specimens were made and cured at half-mid-temperature (90), respectively, and their physical properties were measured. The results are shown in Table 3.

In the case of the semi-cold mixture of Example 3, the physical properties of the semi-cold mixture were slightly lower than those of the example 1 of the mesophilic mixture. The physical properties of these semi-cold mixtures are the same as those of the new ascon, but the heating cost for production is reduced and there is almost no pollution gas.
