본 발명은 종래 기술과 다른 담배로드와 필터를 구비한 끽연물품 및 제조방법을 개시하는데, 필터는 중공부와, 흐름 제한 필터 세그먼트, 인서트, 및 통기부를 구비한다.

장식품(511)의 하류에서 커터(517)가 연속적인 로드(521)를 절단해서 6업식 제한부/상류 세그먼트 조립체(로드, 519)를 형성한다. 6업식 로드(519)는 바람직하게 한쪽 단부에서 나머지 단부까지 다음 세그먼트를 구비한다: 1업식/7㎜ CA 세그먼트; 제1 26㎜/2업식 제한부 조립체 세그먼트; 14㎜/2업식 CA 세그먼트; 제2 26㎜/2업식 제한부 조립체 세그먼트; 제2 14㎜/2업식 CA 세그먼트; 제3 26㎜/2업식 제한부 조립체 세그먼트; 및 제2 1업식/7㎜. 그 후 6업식 로드(519)는 듀얼 호퍼 맥스의 제1호퍼(170) 내에 공급되고 놓여진다.
도 4 및 도 5를 참조하면, 6업식/120㎜ 로드(519)는 드럼(222)에서 3개의 2 업식 로드(521)로 잘리고, 드럼(226)에 정렬된 드럼(224)에서 선별되고, 중심이 잘리고 드럼(232)의 각각의 플루트를 따라 마주보는 한쌍의 중간조립체 내로 이격된다. 각각의 중간조립체는 1업식/7㎜ CA 세그먼트(도 1b의 상류 필터 세그먼트(23)에 대응하는), 개방 단부가 각각의 드럼 플루트를 따라 안으로 향한 인서트(18) 및 1업식 HAT 세그먼트를 구비한다. 한쌍의 중간결합체는 2업식/14㎜ CA 플러그(523)를 수용하기 위해 충분히 이격된다.
2업식 플러그(523)는 드럼(248)에서 또는 주위에서 일어나는 추가 절삭, 선별, 및 정렬 작업과 함께, 도 4에 도시된 DH MAX의 드럼들(242, 244, 및 246)의 6업식/84㎜ 길이인 필터로드 상에서 유사한 절삭, 선별 및 정렬 작업을 하여 만들어진다.
(238)에서의 작업을 다시 주목하면, 플러그는 완전한 2업식 필터 구조물(525)을 형성하기 위해 드럼(250)에 모인 후, 도 6에 도시된 바와 같이 한쌍의 이격된 필터로드(527) 사이로 공급되고, 완전한 2업식 담배 구조물(531)을 형성하기 위해 듀얼 호퍼맥스의 평소 팁핑 작업에 따라서 팁핑지(529)로 감싸진다. 그 후에, 2업식 담배 구조물(531)이 절단되고 담배가 모두 드럼(264)에 정렬되는데, 이 드럼 위에서 담배가 포장기(packer, 266)를 향하고, 이 포장기로부터 카토너(cartoner, 268) 및 케이스 포장기(270)로 이동한다.

여기에 도시되고 기술된 실시예는 원하는 양의 흡인저항 및 종래의 담배 생산 장치에서 고속으로 담배를 제조하는 것을 용이하게 하는 설비와 함께 훌륭하게 통기된 끽연 물품의 이득을 제공한다.
전술된 설명은 바람직한 실시예에 관한 것이고, 단지 물품 및 그것을 제조하는 방법의 전형이라는 것이 이해될 것이다. 상기 교훈의 견지에서 다른 실시예의 변형 및 변경은 당업자들에게 이의없이 명백하게 인정받을 수 있을 것이다. 예컨대, 다른 통기성 재료가 HAT를 만드는데 사용될 수 있다. 따라서, 다른 실시예 뿐만 아니라 바람직한 실시예는 첨부된 청구항에 진술된 물품 및 방법의 정신과 범위를 벗어나지 않고 고안될 수 있다.

Claims (23)

  1. 주류연을 만도록 형성된 담배로드;와
    상기 담배로드와 함께 작용하고 상류단부와 하류단부를 갖는 필터;로 이루어져 있으며,
    상기 필터는, 상기 상류단부와 상기 하류단부 사이에 위치한 중앙 중공부;와
    상기 중공부의 상류에 위치하고 통기성 재료의 튜브형상부로 둘러싸인 불투과성 인서트를 구비한 흐름 제한 필터 세그먼트; 및
    상기 중공부를 따라 상기 흐름 제한 세그먼트의 하류에 위치하고, 상기 중공부와 연통된 통기부;를 구비한 끽연 물품.
  2. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 튜브형상부는 상기 인서트의 길이와 같거나 그 이상의 길이를 갖는 끽연 물품.
  3. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 통기성 재료는 중공의 아세테이트 튜브, 탄소 부스러기, 탄소 종이, 얇은 및/또는 두꺼운 종이, 및 그들의 조합으로 구성된 그룹에서 선택될 수 있는 끽연 물품.
  4. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 상기 튜브형상부에 꽃힌 상태에 있는 끽연 물품.
  5. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 튜브형상부는 적어도 부분적으로 상기 중공부를 형성하는 끽연 물품.
  6. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 상기 튜브형상부 내에 완전히 수용된 끽연 물품.
  7. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 상기 튜브형상부와 슬라이딩(sliding)식으로 맞춰진 끽연 물품.
  8. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 필터 길이와 동일하게 이어지거나, 흐름 제한 세그먼트와 담배로드의 하류단부 사이에 필터 재료를 구비하지 않는 끽연 물품.
  9. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 필터와 상기 담배로드는 팁핑지로 부착되고 상기 통기부는 상기 팁핑지 내에 적어도 한줄의 구멍으로 형성된 끽연 물품.
  10. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 끽연 물품은 상기 흐름 제한 필터 세그먼트의 상류에 임의의 제1 필터 플러그를 구비하고 상기 필터의 개구 단부에 제2 필터 플러그를 구비한 끽연 물품.
  11. 제 10항에 있어서, 상기 제1 필터 플러그 세그먼트와 제2 필터 플러그 세그먼트 중 적어도 하나는 필라멘트당 약 5 데니어에서 약 25 데니어의 셀룰로오즈 아세테이트 토우를 구비한 끽연 물품.
  12. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 끽연 물품의 소정의 흡인저항은 대략 물 40㎜ 이상인 끽연 물품.
  13. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 고밀도 폴리에틸렌, 폴리프로필렌, 나일론, 압축 또는 압출 셀룰로오스 재료, 밀폐 셀 발포체, 및/또는 이들의 조합으로부터 선택된 재료로 형성된다.
  14. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 적어도 1개의 향미를 구비한 끽연 물품.
  15. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 단부에서 단부까지 대칭인 끽연 물품.
  16. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 불투과성 단부벽을 구비한 끽연 물품.
  17. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 중공의 아세테이트 튜브 안으로 끼워진 고형 플러그 프레스인 끽연 물품.
  18. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 인서트는 사출성형된 끽연 물품.
  19. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 끽연 물품은 적어도 약 25%의 통기 수준을 갖는 끽연 물품.
  20. 제 1항에 있어서, 상기 끽연 물품은 적어도 약 50%에서 약 90%의 통기 수준을 갖는 끽연 물품.
  21. 2업식 중공 필터 세그먼트의 마주보는 단부에 제한부 인서트를 삽입함으로써 2업식 제한부 조립체를 성립하고;
    제1필터로드를 형성하기 위해 2업식 상류필터와 번갈아서 2업식 제한부 조립체를 결합하고;
    2업식 중간조립체로 제1필터로드를 자르고;
    이격된 한쌍의 2업식 중간조립체를 1업식 중간조립체로 자르고 분리하고;
    완전한 2업식 필터 조립체를 형성하기 위해 이격된 한쌍의 1업식 중간조립체 사이에 2업식 하류 필터 세그먼트를 배치하는; 끽연 물품을 제조하는 방법.
  22. 담배로드를 형성하고;
    상기 담배로드를 2업식 담배로드로 자르고;
    2업식 담배로드 사이에 제 21항에 따라 2업식 필터 조립체를 배치하고, 2업 식 담배를 형성하기 위해 팁핑지와 2업식 담배로드에 2업식 필터 조립체를 배치하고;
    한쌍의 담배를 형성하기 위해 2업식 필터 조립체의 중앙을 자르는; 담배를 제조하는 방법.
  23. 흐름 제한 세그먼트를 형성하기 위해 통기성 재료로 된 튜브형상부의 개구에 불투과성 인서트를 위치시키고;
    하류 필터 세그먼트와 상류 필터 세그먼트 사이에 흐름 제한 세그먼트를 위치시켜서 불투과성 인서트가 튜브형 세그먼트의 상류 단부에 놓이고 흐름 제한 필터를 형성하기 위해 플러그 랩과 부착되도록 하고;
    담배를 형성하기 위해 담배로드를 흐름 제한 필터의 상류 단부에 부착하는; 담배를 제조하는 방법.
