Abstract

A golf ball monitoring system is provided to display, on a portable monitor that a golf player carries around, a GPS information of a current location of the ball at a field as well as a motion of the ball when hit by the player. A golf ball monitoring system is constituted by a plurality of GPS satellites(10,20,30), a golf ball(50) with a built-in transceiver, a plurality of fixed relay antennas(40,60) around a golf field, and a portable monitor. The golf ball(50) receives GPS coordinate information from the GPS satellites(10,20,30) to provide a current location of the ball to the portable monitor and to the fixed relay antennas(40,60) installed around the golf field through the transceiver built inside the ball(50). In addition, the distance between a player and the golf ball(50), the distance between the player and a hole cup, and other information related to the ball and a game are provided in a dynamic and visual manner.
