Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a molybdenum oxide briquette for producing clean steel and a method of manufacturing the same, and more particularly, to a molybdenum oxide briquette introduced into a molybdenum source to increase molybdenum content in steel in a steelmaking process, which does not cause a decrease in cleanliness of steel. Molybdenum oxide briquette and a method for producing the same.
Molybdenum is an alloying element added to carbon steel or stainless steel to improve the properties of steel. Since molybdenum has a melting point of 2622 ± 10 ° C., which is significantly higher than the molten steel temperature which is processed in a general steelmaking process, when molybdenum metal is added to molten steel, it takes much time and cost to dissolve the molybdenum and homogenize the components.
Therefore, in the steelmaking process, a molten steel having a lower melting point than that of pure molybdenum is adopted in the form of molybdenum (Ferro-Molybdenum, Fe-Mo) alloy. However, the molybdenum is not suitable because the price of the molybdenum is an increase factor of the steel products when applied to the steelmaking industry at a high price.
Molybdenum oxide is proposed in order to overcome this problem, the molybdenum oxide is present in the form of MoO 2 , MoO 3 , Mo 2 O 5, etc. Among them, MoO 3 is the most stable form, commonly referred to as molybdenum oxide 3 means.
The molybdenum oxide (MoO 3 ) is an unstable compound having a melting point of about 801 ° C. and a vaporization point of about 1280 ° C. Therefore, when molybdenum oxide is added to molten steel, some of the molybdenum oxide is reduced by carbon, silicon, aluminum, etc. dissolved in molten steel in contact with molten steel, and part of the molybdenum oxide is vaporized or sublimed into vapor phase to be lost. .
Since the real rate of molybdenum is significantly reduced due to the vaporization or sublimation of the molybdenum oxide, it is necessary to suppress the vaporization or sublimation of the molybdenum oxide in order to increase the real rate of molybdenum. Vaporization or sublimation of molybdenum oxide is suppressable by reducing the activity of molybdenum oxide in solid or liquid phase.
In order to reduce the activity of molybdenum oxide, a method of introducing molybdenum oxide into a mixture or an intermediate compound is advantageous, without introducing molybdenum oxide in a pure state. In this way, the inventors of the present invention in the Republic of Korea Patent No. 10-0364512 to reduce the activity of molybdenum oxide to minimize the amount of molybdenum oxide lost in the gas phase binary or ternary alkali earth metal salts such as steelmaking slag and molybdenum oxide A method of preparing molybdenum oxide briquette by mixing with a caking agent has already been proposed.
In this case, when the molybdenum oxide briquette is in contact with molten steel due to the presence of a binary or ternary alkali earth metal salt such as steelmaking slag, the binary or ternary alkaline earth metal salt is easily molten due to its low melting point and thus molybdenum oxide It serves as a low melting point flux that can be dissolved. Molybdenum oxide dissolved in the low melting point flux has a significantly lower activity than pure molybdenum oxide, so that it is difficult to vaporize or sublime, and thus the amount of molybdenum oxide lost is reduced to increase the real rate of molybdenum oxide.
However, when the molybdenum oxide briquette prepared by the above method is introduced in the production of clean steel having high cleanliness, a problem may occur that the cleanliness of the steel is reduced.
That is, molybdenum oxide (MoO 3 ) is a combination of molybdenum and oxygen, in order to reduce the molybdenum oxide, a reducing element such as silicon, carbon, or aluminum dissolved in steel must combine with oxygen. However, when such a reaction occurs in molten steel, oxygen of molybdenum oxide may form an oxide in molten steel, and the oxide may penetrate into the molten steel by natural or forced convection occurring in molten steel. As a result, a large amount of oxide inclusions are formed in the molten steel, and if they are not completely removed, the cleanliness of the steel may deteriorate and may act as a detrimental factor in the clean steel manufacturing process.
The present invention is to solve the above problems of the prior art, to prevent the problem of molybdenum oxide is lost in the gas phase to improve the real rate of molybdenum oxide, as well as to minimize the degradation of cleanliness of steel that can occur when molybdenum oxide is injected It is an object of the present invention to provide molybdenum oxide briquettes which are advantageous for the production of clean steel by suppressing them and methods for producing the same.
Molybdenum oxide briquette of the present invention for achieving the object of the present invention is molybdenum oxide (MoO 3 ) 40 to 85% by weight, low melting point slag 10 to 30% by weight, aluminum chip 5-30% by weight and the molybdenum oxide When the weight of the + low melting point molten slag + aluminum chip is 100 parts by weight, it comprises a 2 to 10 parts by weight of the binder.
At this time, the size of the aluminum chip is preferably 10mm or less.
In addition, the low melting molten slag is a slag containing CaO, Al 2 O 3 , SiO 2 as a main component and other impurities less than 10% by weight, the melting point is preferably 1500 ℃ or less.
And, the binder is preferably one or two or more of bentonite, starch, water glass.
상기 바람직한 본 발명의 산화몰리브덴 브리케트를 제조하는 제조방법은 산화몰리브덴(MoO3) 40~85중량%, 저융점 용융 슬래그 10~30중량%, 알루미늄 칩 5~30중량%와 상기 산화몰리브덴+저융점 용융 슬래그+알루미늄 칩의 중량을 100중량부로 하였을 때 2~10 중량부의 점결제를 물과 함께 혼합 교반하는 제 1 단계; 상기 혼합물을 브리케팅 방법으로 5~50mm의 입경을 가지도록 성형하는 제 2 단계; 그리고, 상기 성형된 산화몰리브덴 브리케트를 100-300℃의 온도로 건조하는 제 3 단계;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.The preferred method for producing the molybdenum oxide briquette of the present invention is 40 to 85% by weight of molybdenum oxide (MoO 3 ), 10 to 30% by weight of low melting molten slag, 5 to 30% by weight of aluminum chips and the molybdenum oxide + low A first step of mixing and stirring 2 to 10 parts by weight of a binder with water when the weight of the melting point molten slag + aluminum chip is 100 parts by weight; A second step of molding the mixture to have a particle diameter of 5 to 50 mm by a briquetting method; And a third step of drying the molded molybdenum oxide briquette at a temperature of 100-300 ° C .;
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail.
In order to overcome the problems of the prior art, the inventors of the present invention intensively studied the cause of deterioration of the cleanliness of molten steel due to molybdenum oxide, and found the following facts and completed the present invention.
That is, as described above, when oxygen source (that is, molybdenum oxide) that causes deterioration of cleanliness of steel penetrates into the molten steel, oxygen contained in the oxygen source (molybdenum oxide) contacts the deoxidation component in the steel to form oxide inclusions. And the oxide inclusions do not float to the slag layer due to the convection of the molten steel and remain in the molten steel. Therefore, in order not to deteriorate the cleanliness of steel by this process, it is necessary to prevent the reduction of molybdenum oxide in molten steel as much as possible.
In order to prevent the formation of oxidative inclusions by the reduction of molybdenum oxide in the molten steel as described above, it is preferable to allow the metal molybdenum to be absorbed into the steel after it has already been reduced to metal molybdenum in the briquette.
Therefore, in order to allow the molybdenum oxide to be reduced in the molybdenum oxide briquette, a reducing agent having a reducing power in the briquette needs to be included together with the molybdenum oxide. In addition, the reducing agent should be easy to obtain the product produced after the reduction of molybdenum, for example, do not interfere with the physical properties of briquettes such as mass transfer coefficient.
The inventors of the present invention have found that aluminum is suitable as a material that satisfies the conditions of such a suitable reducing agent. When aluminum is included in the briquettes in the form of chips, most of the molybdenum oxide can be reduced in the briquettes due to the strong reducing action, and the alumina produced as a result of the reducing action is easily dissolved in slag and briquettes, so the physical properties of the briquettes are increased. Do not inhibit.
Thus, the molybdenum oxide briquettes of the present invention are briquettes composed of molybdenum oxide (MoO 3 ), low melting point slag, aluminum chips and binders.
Hereinafter, the main components and the content of each component of the molybdenum oxide briquette of the present invention will be described in detail. Among the components described below, the total content of molybdenum oxide, low melting point slag, and aluminum chips is 100% by weight, and the amount of the binder means a relative amount when the total amount of these binders is 100 parts by weight.
Molybdenum Oxide: 40 ~ 85% by weight
Molybdenum oxide serves as the molybdenum source intended in the present invention. When the content of molybdenum oxide is less than 40% by weight, a large amount of molybdenum oxide briquette should be added to secure molybdenum in molten steel, and as a result, problems such as a decrease in temperature of molten steel may occur. On the contrary, when the content of molybdenum oxide exceeds 85% by weight, the aluminum chip or the low melting molten slag content described later is insufficient, so that the cleanliness of steel is deteriorated or the amount of molybdenum oxide lost due to vaporization increases, thereby increasing the real rate. Decreases.
Low melting point slag: 10 ~ 30 wt%
The low melting molten slag is to prevent the molybdenum oxide is lost to the gas phase, and when the low melting molten slag is less than 10% by weight, the amount of molybdenum oxide lost is increased. On the contrary, if the amount of low melting molten slag exceeds 30% by weight, it is difficult to expect the effect of increasing the real ratio of molybdenum oxide any longer, and it is difficult because the amount of molybdenum oxide or the amount of aluminum chips is relatively reduced. Therefore, it is preferable that the quantity of low melting molten slag is 10-30 weight%.
The low melting molten slag is a slag containing CaO, Al 2 O 3 , SiO 2 as a main component and other impurities less than 10% by weight so that the molten slag can exist in the liquid phase when it is introduced into molten steel. desirable. Among the impurities may include MgO, MnO and the like. The slag composition may be applied to those skilled in the art by selecting an appropriate composition at a melting point of 1500 ° C. or lower from a CaO—SiO 2 —Al 2 O 3 based ternary state diagram. In more detail, the appropriate slag composition may include slag containing 45 to 55% by weight of CaO, 10 to 30% by weight of Al 2 O 3 , 20 to 40% by weight of SiO 2 , and the remaining 10% by weight or less of impurities. have. The impurities may include 1.5 wt% or less of Fe 2 O 3 , 2-5 wt% of MgO, and 1-3 wt% of MnO.
Aluminum chip: 5 ~ 30 wt%
The aluminum chip serves to reduce molybdenum oxide so that oxygen does not penetrate into molten steel as much as possible. Considering the appropriate content of molybdenum oxide, when the content of the aluminum chip is less than 5% by weight, the amount of molybdenum oxide reduced by the aluminum chip is not sufficient, so that molybdenum oxide is brought into contact with the molten steel in an unreduced state. The cleanliness of the molten steel will be reduced. On the contrary, when the content of the aluminum chip exceeds 30% by weight, the effect is not increased any more and the slag component is affected, so the upper limit of the content of the aluminum chip is limited to 30% by weight.
The aluminum chip preferably has a size of 10 mm or less and an aluminum content of 95% or more.
Caking agent: 2 to 10 parts by weight of molybdenum oxide + low melting molten slag + 100 parts by weight of aluminum chips
The binder is used to secure the bonding force between the components to facilitate molding, and to secure the strength of the briquette, one or more of bentonite, starch, and water glass may be used.
The amount of the binder is preferably from 2 to 10 parts by weight when the total amount of molybdenum oxide + low melting point slag + aluminum chip is 100 parts by weight, if less than 2 parts by weight of briquette strength is weak and easy to break have. In addition, the addition of more than 10 parts by weight of the binder is hard to expect any further effect of strength and results in reducing only the content of the active ingredient in the briquette is limited to the upper limit of 10 parts by weight.
Such molybdenum oxide briquettes are preferably prepared in the following manner.
First, it is necessary to mix the components of the molybdenum oxide briquette (i.e., molybdenum oxide, low melting molten slag and aluminum chips) with a small amount of water in an appropriate ratio, and then stir. Is to increase the binding effect by the binder.
Thereafter, the mixture of water and molybdenum oxide, low melting molten slag, aluminum chips and a binder need to be press molded to have an initial strength and have a briquette shape. If the initial strength is not secured, it may be crushed again in the subsequent curing process. The briquette mixture preferably has a size of 5 to 50 mm in consideration of ease of feeding and storage.
In addition, it is necessary to further improve the strength through curing because the strength is not sufficient just by press molding into the briquette shape.
The curing temperature is preferably 100 to 300 ° C., when the curing temperature is less than 100 ° C., the curing effect is not sufficient, and when it exceeds 300 ° C., problems such as briquette cracking due to high heat may occur.
The curing time depends on the curing temperature, but curing may be performed until the water including the bound water is completely removed.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to Examples.
(Example)
Molybdenum oxide briquettes were prepared in the proportions as shown in Table 1 below. The term 'slag' in the table means the low melting point slag described above, and the term 'aluminum' means the aluminum chip described above. The slag had a composition consisting of 31 wt% CaO, 27 wt% Al 2 O 3 , 42 wt% SiO 2 and the remaining small amount of impurities. Water was added at a weight of about 4% to the weight of the total molybdenum oxide briquette except for water, and the curing temperature was 150 ° C. and the curing time was 12 hours. The molybdenum oxide briquettes thus prepared had an average particle size of about 30 mm and an average weight of 100 g. The compressive strength was in the range of 50 to 90 kgf / cm 2 .
In order to confirm the effect of the molybdenum oxide briquette was carried out the following experiment. First, 100 kg of steel was dissolved in an induction furnace, and the temperature was maintained at 1550 ° C., followed by 1 kg of briquettes. After the molten steel was maintained for 1 hour, the sample was taken from the cast and cast ingots and the total oxygen (Total Oxygen, T.O) was measured using an oxygen analyzer.
In Table 1, 'defect' as a result determination criteria means that the T.O is 40ppm or more, 'normal' is more than 30ppm or more and less than 40ppm, and 'good' is less than 30ppm.
As can be seen from the results shown in Table 1, in the comparative example in which no aluminum chip was added, the TO value in steel showed a very high value of 62 ppm, whereas in the example in which the aluminum chip was added, the TO level was all less than 40 ppm. It can be confirmed that the above cleanliness is obtained. In addition, it can be seen from the results of the embodiment that the content of the aluminum chip is more preferable when 20% by weight or more.
In addition, as a result of comparing the molybdenum component change before and after the addition and the amount of molybdenum oxide added separately from the above cleanliness analysis, it was possible to obtain a very good result with a real rate of 95% or more in both the comparative examples and the examples.
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to solve the problem of deterioration of cleanliness that may occur when using molybdenum oxide briquettes which have been conventionally used for adding molybdenum in steel. Can provide.
