The present invention relates to a touch panel, and more particularly, to a touch sensing method of a touch panel and a touch panel employing the method, which can prevent a malfunction by ignoring an abnormal touch situation.
Touch screens that allow users to input desired items by touching a display device such as an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) are widely used. In this way, a means for inputting a desired item by touching with a finger or a touch pen is called a touch panel.
1 is a schematic block diagram illustrating a configuration of a general touch panel. As can be seen in the drawing, the touch panel includes a
The touch sensing principle of the touch panel having such a configuration will be described with reference to FIG. 2. 2 is a view for explaining the principle of touch sensing in a general touch panel.
The
In a touch panel having such a touch sensing principle, an abnormal touch situation may occur as well as a normal touch using a finger or a stylus. An example of an abnormal touch situation will be described with reference to FIGS. 3 and 4.
3 illustrates a case where contact is made at two or more places, and FIG. 4 illustrates a case where contact is made over an abnormally wide area.
As shown in FIG. 3, when contact is made at two places, touch is sensed at both places. Therefore, conventionally, one of two coordinates, that is, (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) is recognized as a pressed coordinate. However, when contact is made at two or more places in this way, it is an abnormal case such as when a user accidentally touches two places or another object is placed on the touch pad. Therefore, it is preferable to ignore the contact in such a case. Do.
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 4, even when a contact is made over a large area, there is a possibility that one contact is detected and its center point (x1, y1) is recognized as a contact coordinate. However, in this case, the contact is made over an abnormally wide area. Therefore, it is preferable to ignore the contact in such a case because it is an abnormal case such as when the user touches the palm of the hand or puts another object.
The present invention for achieving the above object is to provide a touch sensing method of the touch panel and a touch panel adopting the same can be ignored in the case of abnormal contact. That is, when contact is made at two or more places or when contact is made over an abnormally wide range, it is aimed to prevent a malfunction due to a false contact by ignoring this.
In order to achieve the above object, the touch sensing method of the touch panel according to the present invention checks whether a touch is detected by scanning a sensor, and if the touch is detected, after storing information about the detected touch area, the touch is detected. If the number of touch areas is not two or more, the touched coordinates may be calculated and output from the information about the touch area.
On the other hand, by only storing the information about the touch area when the number of the touch detected sensor is larger than the reference value it may be to reduce the effect of the noise or bad sensor. Alternatively, the information about the touch area may be stored for a sensor group in which the number of sensors included in the sensor group connected to each other among the sensed touches is greater than or equal to a certain number.
The number of touch regions in which touch is sensed refers to the number of groups of touch sensors that are separated from each other among the touch sensed sensors. In addition, by counting only a group in which the number of touch sensors included in the group is greater than or equal to a predetermined number among the groups of touch sensors that are separated from each other among the sensors in which the touch is sensed, the influence of the noise or the bad sensor may be reduced.
In another embodiment of the present invention, if the number of sensors included in the touch area where a touch is detected is greater than or equal to a predetermined number, this is ignored. It is preferable that the predetermined number is ten.
Also, the touched coordinates may be calculated only when both conditions are satisfied when the number of sensors included in the touch area where the touch is detected is not more than a predetermined number and the number of touch areas where the touch is detected is not two or more. You may.
The touch panel of the present invention includes a rectangular touch board, a light emitting sensor disposed beside two adjacent sides of the touch board, a light receiving sensor disposed beside the opposite side of the light emitting sensor, and the light emitting sensor emits light. A touch panel comprising a touch panel controller for reading an output value of a light receiving sensor and calculating a pressed coordinate value, wherein the touch panel controller calculates the pressed coordinate value only when the number of touch areas where a touch is detected is not two or more. It is characterized by.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the touch panel controller calculates the pressed coordinate value only when the number of sensors included in the touch area where the touch is detected is not more than a predetermined number.
Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 5. 5 is a flowchart illustrating a touch sensing method according to the present invention.
First, the
Next, it is determined whether it is an abnormal touch from the information about the stored touch area. The determination of whether the touch is abnormal is determined by whether the area of the touched area is out of a predetermined standard (step S507) and whether the number of touched areas is two or more (step S509). In some embodiments, only one of the two may be determined.
The area of the touched area may be determined using the number of sensors included in the touched area where the touch is detected. That is, if the number of sensors included in the touch area where the touch is detected is 10 or more, for example, the touch is over an abnormally wide area, and thus it is determined that the touch is abnormal.
When counting the number of touched areas, the number of groups of touch sensors separated from each other among sensors in which touch is sensed is counted. On the other hand, in the group of touch sensors that are separated from each other among the touch-sensed sensors, by counting only a group in which the number of touch sensors included in the group is greater than or equal to a predetermined number, one sensor away from the other sensors is touched by bad or noise. If detected, it can be excluded to reduce the effects of noise or bad sensors.
Although the present invention has been described with reference to some examples, the present invention is not limited to the specific embodiments. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that various changes and modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention.
As described above, according to the present invention, if the contact is made in two or more places or the contact is made over an abnormally wide range, there is an effect that the malfunction due to the miscontact can be prevented by ignoring this.
