Description
The present invention relates to a method for forming a fiber-resin composite using a planar heating element as a heating source, and more particularly, to form a fiber-resin composite using a simple device using a planar heating element as a heating source, and to a conventional hot air. The present invention relates to a method of forming a fiber-resin composite having excellent mechanical properties because it has a higher thermal efficiency than the heat curing method, and thus a short process time, a stable working environment, and a uniform temperature.
Fiber-resin composites having a high strength-weight ratio are widely used in large structures such as wind turbine blades and aircraft substrates, as well as small structures for sports leisure such as fishing rods and golf clubs. Such fiber-resin composite molding methods include sheet molding compound (SMC) molding, resin transfer molding (RTM) molding, pultrusion molding, hot press molding, autoclave molding, and open mold. (open mold) molding method, and the like, the autoclave molding method or the open mold molding method is mainly used for the molding of complex large structures such as blade substrates for ships, aircraft, wind turbines.
The autoclave molding method is a method of molding using an autoclave which is a pressurizing furnace capable of simultaneously applying heat and pressure, and FIG. 1 shows a schematic diagram of the autoclave forming apparatus 1. As shown in Fig. 1, a mold 9 of a predetermined shape to be molded is placed on a support 8, and thereon reinforcing fibers such as glass fibers, kevlar fibers, carbon fibers, etc., on a thermosetting resin and / or a thermoplastic matrix resin. After stacking the prepreg fiber-resin composite 10 impregnated in a uni-directional or woven form as desired ply, the mold 9 and cork dams 6 and 6 'are positioned, The air and volatiles contained in the fiber of the prepreg fiber-resin composite molding 10, the bleeder 11 for adjusting the resin ratio, and the fiber-resin composite 10 are removed and a vacuum is applied. After stacking a breather 12 for easy formation, the stack is wrapped with a vacuum bag 13 and a sealant 7 at the edge of the vacuum bag 13. 7 ') to bleed air between the support (8) and the vacuum bag (13) or Prevent and seal. Make a hole with a diameter of about 5 to 7 mm at an appropriate position of the vacuum bag 13, connect it with the vacuum line 5, and then operate the vacuum pump (not shown) connected with the vacuum line 5 to operate the vacuum bag. (13) creates a vacuum (typically lower than atmospheric pressure), and at the same time operates an external pressurization device (not shown) to introduce an inert gas such as nitrogen through the pressure line (4) to autoclave (1). While raising the pressure inside, the heating source consisting of the fan 2 and the heater 3 is operated to radiate hot air into the prepreg fiber-resin composite 10 in the vacuum bag 12. The prepreg fiber-resin composite 10 initially adheres to the mold by the pressure in the autoclave 1 as the temperature increases and the viscosity decreases and the meltability increases, and then the chemical bonding reaction in the fiber-resin composite 10 And the fiber-resin composite 10 molding cured to a predetermined mold 9 shape are separated from the mold 9. Autoclave molding method is not suitable to manufacture by hot press molding method because of large or complicated plate material and sandwich structure among high-grade aircraft parts, or it is suitable for manufacturing moldings with high economic burden if mold is produced due to low production quantity. It requires a lot of subsidiary materials, such as equipment and expensive and difficult to manage, the process is complicated, takes a long time and there is a problem that can not produce a structure larger than the autoclave (1).
In order to supplement the above problems, an open mold forming method as shown in FIG. 2 is used. The open mold forming apparatus is the same as the autoclave forming apparatus except that there is no autoclave 1, pressurization device (not shown), and pressure line 4, and the fiber-resin composite 10, cork dam 6, 6 '), Bleeder 11, breather 12 and vacuum bag 13 lamination process, vacuum pressure forming process inside vacuum bag 13, hot air spinning process of heating source 2, 3, fiber- The separation step of the molded article of the resin composite 10 is the same as the autoclave molding method. The open mold molding method has the advantage of being able to work under normal pressure, simple equipment, and not limited to the size of the molding, but for the quality control of the molding, the worker has to work in the hot air from time to time, so the safety is reduced, The heat transfer efficiency applied to the molding due to indirect heating by the molding is long, and the molding time is long, and when the thick molding is manufactured, the properties of the molding are deteriorated due to incomplete melting and curing, and according to the position where the hot air is applied and the thickness direction of the molding. The problem remains that the properties of the moldings are nonuniform due to temperature variations.

First, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, a mold 27 having a predetermined shape to be molded is placed on the support 26, the planar heating elements 28 are laminated, and then the fiber-resin is stacked on the laminated planar heating elements 28. The composite 29 is cut and laminated to a desired thickness, the cork dams 24 and 24 'are positioned at the edges of the planar heating element 28 and the fiber-resin composite 29, and then the laminated fiber-resin composite 29 ) And the bleeder 30 and the breather 31 are sequentially stacked on the cork dams 24 and 24 'as necessary, and the planar heating element 28' is stacked on the stacked bleeder 30 and the breather 31. ), The entire stack is wrapped with a vacuum bag (32). In the molding method according to the present invention, the planar heating elements 28 and 28 'are formed on the bottom surface (between the mold 26 and the fiber-resin composite 29) and the top surface (fiber-resin composite 29) as shown in FIG. Both on the fiber-resin composite 29 or on the breather 31), or on only one side.
The planar heating elements 28 and 28 'are formed in a thin sheet form due to their characteristics, and are preferably made of a material having a drape enough to be laminated along a curved surface. The planar heating element and its manufacturing method are Korean patents. Patent No. 0337609, Utility Model Registration No. 0262764, US Patent Nos. 3,367,851, 3,839,134, Japanese Patent Application No. 62-281293, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 5-144554, and the like.
The fiber-resin composite 29, which is a molding material formed by the present invention, refers to a polymer material which expresses both fiber and resin excellent properties by combining reinforcing fibers and matrix resin, and fiber reinforced plastics. : FRP), and prepreg, which is a sheet-like intermediate made by impregnating the reinforcing fibers with a matrix resin in a uniform content. The reinforcing fibers may be used without limitation, reinforcing fibers conventionally used to make a fiber-resin composite 29, such as FRP, preferably glass fiber, Kevlar fiber, carbon fiber, boron fiber or a mixture thereof, Tensile modulus (tensible modulus) of 1,000 to 40,000 kgf / mm 2 , the tensile strength (tensible strength) may be used 50 to 500 kgf / mm 2 . If the tensile modulus of elasticity is less than 1,000 kgf / mm 2 or the tensile strength is less than 50 kgf / mm 2 , there is a possibility that the physical properties of the manufactured fiber-resin composite may be deteriorated, and the tensile modulus of elasticity exceeds 40,000 kgf / mm 2 or the tensile If the strength exceeds 500 kgf / mm 2 , it is economically disadvantageous and there is no particular benefit.
The matrix resin can be used without limitation, a resin commonly used to fabricate a fiber-resin composite 29, such as FRP, preferably epoxy resin, unsaturated polyester resin, vinyl ester resin, melamine resin, phenol resin, etc. Thermoplastics such as thermosetting resins, polyimide resins, polyethylene resins, polypropylene resins, polyamide resins, polycarbonate resins, polyethylene terephthalate resins, ABS resins, polyphenylene sulfide resins, polyether ether ketone resins, polyetherimide resins, and the like. Resins, and mixtures thereof, can be used without limitation. The prepreg 29 may be a prepreg impregnated with a resin in the textile reinforcement fiber, a prepreg impregnated with the resin in the one-way reinforcement fiber, a prepreg impregnated with the resin in the reinforcing fiber mat or a mixture thereof have.
The content of the matrix resin constituting the fiber-resin composite 29 may be mixed in an appropriate ratio depending on the type and forming method of the reinforcing fiber within the range of 5 to 80% by weight based on the total fiber-resin composite 29. . When the resin content is less than 5% by weight, there is a concern that the resin flow may be insufficient during the molding, so that perfect adhesion between the layers may not be achieved. When the resin content exceeds 80% by weight, the weight of the molded body may increase due to the excess resin. When the prepreg fiber-resin composite 29, which is made of woven carbon fibers as a reinforcing fiber, is molded using the vacuum bag 32, the matrix resin can be impregnated between the woven reinforcing fibers even at low pressure. It is preferable to use 40 to 50% by weight resin which is higher than the phosphorus content of 37 to 40% by weight, and in the case of the prepreg fiber-resin composite 29 having unidirectional carbon fiber or unidirectional glass fiber as reinforcing fiber, In order to minimize pinholes that may occur and to prevent interlayer separation, the resin content is preferably 27 to 37% by weight.
The thickness and lamination direction of the fiber-resin composite 29 can be adjusted according to the type of reinforcing fiber and matrix resin, the strength and impact resistance required for the molding, and when the prepreg 29 is laminated, the prepreg 29 ) Lay as many plies as you want, taking care not to let air in between them.
The bleeder 30, which is laminated to the fiber-resin composite 29 as necessary, absorbs excess resin from the fiber-resin composite 29 stack during the molding process, so that the fiber and resin content in the fiber-resin composite 29 As a function of controlling the temperature, the bleeder 30 which is commonly used may be used without limitation, and the breather 31 laminated as needed on the fiber-resin composite 29 may be a fiber-resin during the molding process. The air braid serves to allow the autoclave 21 pressure to be transferred to the composite 29 stack, facilitate the formation of a vacuum pressure, and allow the air and volatiles contained in the stack to leak out. A commonly used breather 31 such as an air breather may be used without limitation.
The vacuum bag 32 transmits the pressure and the vacuum pressure of the autoclave 21 to the fiber-resin composite 29 stack, and inert gas or air in the autoclave 21 is permeated through the stack to allow pores. As a function of preventing the deterioration of the physical properties of the molding or molding, it is possible to use a vacuum bag 32 that is commonly used without limitation, without being limited to nylon that does not tear on the sharp edge of the mold (9) and the like; A vacuum bag film made of silicone rubber may be exemplified.
In addition, if necessary, an insulating film and a release film may be inserted between the fiber-resin composite 29 and the planar heating elements 28 and 28 ', and the planar heating element 28 in which the conductive material and the insulating film are laminated. , 28 '). The insulating film (not shown) may be used without limitation, and may be used, without limitation, thermoplastic films such as polypropylene film, polyethylene film, and polyimide film in consideration of molding temperature and release characteristics. . The release film (not shown) smoothes the surface of the molding, allows the molding to be easily separated from the mold 26, and allows the air and volatile gases in the fiber-resin composite 29 stack to escape as needed. In the curing process, the excess resin of the fiber-resin composite 29 acts to escape to the bleeder 30 through the perforation of the release film, and can be used without limitation, and the conductive material may be used. (Not shown) can also be used without limitation.
After lamination according to the method described above, the sealing bag 25, 25 'is sealed between the vacuum bag 32 and the support 26 as shown in Figs. The sealing is carried out by compressing the seals 25 and 25 ', which are usually sealant rubber tapes such as butyl rubber, to the support 26 and the vacuum bag 32. In particular, when the shape of the mold 26 is complicated, it is important to fold and wrap the vacuum bag by adjusting the excess of the vacuum bag so that a large wrinkle occurs in the film of the vacuum bag 32 and the wrinkle pattern is not engraved on the molding. After the sealing process, the fiber-resin composite 29 can be formed by the autoclave molding method of FIG. First, as in a conventional autoclave molding method, a vacuum pump (not shown) connected to the vacuum line 23 is operated to depressurize the inside of the vacuum bag 32, and a pressurization device (not shown) connected to the pressure line 22 is operated. After operating to increase the pressure inside the autoclave 21, the fiber-resin composite 29 is heated and cured to a predetermined mold shape while energizing current through the conducting wire 33 of the planar heating elements 28 and 28 '. To form a fiber-resin composite 29. The vacuum pressure is preferably 700 mmHg to 750 mmHg, the autoclave pressure is preferably 500 to 600 kPa, and the temperature of the planar heating elements 28 and 28 'is preferably 60 to 160 ° C. If outside the above range, there is a concern that the physical properties of the molded article is lowered, in particular, if the temperature is outside the above range, it is difficult to harden the molded article, and if the pressure in the autoclave exceeds 600 kPa, the stability of the work may be lowered. In the case of molding by the open mold method of FIG. 5, the vacuum pump (not shown) connected to the vacuum line 23 is first operated to depressurize the inside of the vacuum bag 32 in the same manner as a conventional open mold molding method. The fiber-resin composite 29 molding can be prepared by heating the fiber-resin composite 29 and curing it to a predetermined mold shape while energizing a direct current or alternating current through the conducting wire 33 of (28, 28 '). have. It is preferable that vacuum pressure is 650-700 kPa, and the temperature of planar heating elements 28 and 28 'is 60-160 degreeC. If the vacuum pressure is less than 650 kPa, the physical properties of the molded product is lowered, and the pressure exceeding 700 kPa is difficult to add due to the characteristics of the open mold, it is economically disadvantageous, there is no particular advantage. If the temperature is out of the above range, there is a problem that the molding is difficult to cure.
