토분 등의 미세분체를 송풍기, 스크린, 기타 효과적인 방법으로 제거한 혼합폐기물은 크라샤(Crusher)를 통하여 적정한 사이즈(예 40mm이하)로 파쇄된 상태로컨베이어(1)로 운반되어 슈트(2)를 통하여 고르게 편 상태로 선별장치에 투입된다. 이때 뭉쳐진 상태로 투입되면 선별효율이 저하된다. 비중이 물보다 큰 자갈, 콘크리트 등은 가라앉아 컨베이어(4)를 통해 밖으로 이송되며 세척과정을 거치게 된다. 비중이 물보다 작은 비닐, 플라스틱 등은 물에 뜨게 되고, 이때 그물망 형태의 장치가 부착된 컨베이어(12)를 통해 밖으로 모아지게 되며, 이때 컨베이어(12)는 지속적으로 회전하며 물위로 부유되는 물질을 배출시키게 된다. 이때 양쪽에 설치된 플레이트(11)는 부유물질이 자갈 등에 섞이지 않게 차단하는 작용을 한다. 물과 자갈의 중간정도의 비중인 젖은 나무 등은 공기 파이프(7), 공기 파이프(8)로 에어를 공급하게 되면 물의 흐름이 발생되고, 일시적으로 부유하는 상태가 되어 이를 컨베이어(5)쪽으로 이동시킨 뒤 배출시킨다. 이때 컨베이어(5)는 모아지는 물질의 양과 성상에 따라 그물망 장치 등을 부착해야하며 또한 이동을 수월하게 하기위하여 회전체(6)를 가동한다. 회전체도 그물망 형태의 장치를 부착한다. 공기 파이프를 통해 공급되는 공기의 양은 폐기물의 양과 선별 목적에 따라 변화시키고, 공기 파이프의 위치 또한 필요에 따라 조정한다. 커버(9)는 자갈 등이 컨베이어(4) 뒤로 넘어가는 것을 방지하며 또한 컨베이어(5)쪽으로 모아지는 물체가 오버되는 것을 막아준다. 배출밸브(10)는 침전물이 선별장치 내부에 쌓이게 되거나 물이 혼탁해지게 되면 밸브를 열어 침전물과 물을 배출할 때 사용하게 된다.The mixed waste from which fine powder such as soil is removed by a blower, screen, or other effective method is conveyed to the conveyor 1 in a state of being crushed to a suitable size (for example, 40 mm or less) through a crusher, and then through a chute (2).
