Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a conductive polymer and a method for producing a film using the same, and more particularly, by adding an aprotic polar solvent to poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) / poly (4-styrenesulfonate). To a conductive polymer.
Conductive polymers have a variety of usefulness due to the advantages of organic materials and electricity. Recently, conductive polymers have been applied in real life and high-tech industries such as secondary batteries, antistatic, switching devices, nonlinear devices, capacitors, optical recording materials, and electromagnetic shielding materials. In order for the conductive polymer to be conductive, a doping process is required. Typically, this process is performed by manufacturing non-conductive powder or film, and then chemically doping them or mixing non-conductive powder and dopant to dissolve them in an organic solvent to make them conductive. Among various conductive polymers, poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) / poly (4-styrenesulfonate) (poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), PEDOT) is stable in the air, and has an electrical conductivity at room temperature compared to other polymers. high. In particular, samples doped with poly (4-styrenesulfonate) and PSS on PEDOT have very uniform coatings as electrodes or antistatic materials, and have excellent interfacial properties and adhesion. Wider Currently, PEDOT research, like other polymers, is mostly about the method of electrical or chemical synthesis using various dopants and its application. The doped samples have different electrical characteristics according to the doping method, and the samples synthesized by the electrochemical method can improve the electrical properties, but there are problems in commercial applications because a complicated sample acquisition process is required than the chemical synthesis method.
Accordingly, the first technical problem to be achieved by the present invention is to provide a polymer having improved electrical properties by adding an aprotic polar solvent to the PEDOT / PSS polymer.

In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the aprotic polar solvent is preferably selected from the group consisting of dimethyl sulfoxide, n, n-dimethyl formamide, tetrahydrofuran and n-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone. .
In addition, the volume ratio of the poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) / poly (4-styrenesulfonate) polymer solution and the aprotic polar solvent is preferably 1: 1 to 15: 1.
In addition, the drying temperature is preferably in the range below the boiling point of each aprotic polar solvent at 50 ℃.
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in more detail.
The conductive polymer according to the present invention is prepared by adding an aprotic polar solvent to a poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) / poly (4-styrenesulfonate) (hereinafter referred to as PEDOT / PSS) polymer solution. It is done. The PEDOT / PSS sample used in the present invention was purchased from Bayer P, which is commercially available from Bayer AG, and the solution consisted of 0.5% by weight of PEDOT, 0.8% by weight of PSS, and the rest of water. The reason for using PSS as a dopant in PEDOT is that it is very difficult to treat it in the desired form because PEDOT is not readily soluble and therefore to increase its solubility. 1 shows the doping mechanism of PEDOT / PSS, while the S atom of thiophene in PEDOT loses electrons and carries a positive charge, while SO 3 H of PSS leaves H + and becomes negatively charged. At this time, the current flows due to the conjugation between the double bonds present in the PEDOT. 2 shows a PEDOT / PSS structure of a conductive polymer prepared using only the polymer solution without adding an aprotic polar solvent. As can be seen in FIG. 2, the interaction between the charged SO 3 − and S + ions in the PEDOT / PSS structure impedes the flow of electrons by conjugated double bonds, thus reducing the electrical conductivity. do. At this time, the water molecules surround each charged chemical species, and the interaction between the SO 3 − ions and S + ions is weakened and the electrical conductivity is increased by the screen of the water molecules.
Meanwhile, FIG. 3 shows the PEDOT / PSS structure of the conductive polymer prepared by adding an aprotic polar solvent according to the present invention. As can be seen in FIG. 3, since the aprotic polar solvent is present in the PEDOT / PSS structure, the screen effect is further increased than when only water is present in the conductive polymer, and thus the electrical conductivity can be improved. Increasing the screen effect of water does not dissolve PEDOT, whereas the aprotic organic solvent used in the present invention is considered to be capable of dissolving both PSS and PEDOT. That is, since the aprotic polar solvent remaining after drying can dissolve the PEDOT, the polar solvent can surround the S + ions of the thiophene in the PEDOT, thereby increasing the screen effect, and in the present invention, Because the polar solvent used can dissolve both PEDOT and PSS, the structure of the PEDOT / PSS chain can be rearranged in the microscopic region to surround the charged species (SO 3 - ions and S + ions). As a result, the space in which the present invention is made wider, and as a result, the aprotic polar solvent as well as the existing water may additionally contribute to the screen effect, thereby increasing the overall electrical conductivity.
Figure 4 shows the results of elemental thermal analysis experiments for the conductive polymer prepared using the conventional conductive polymer and DMSO, still water or aprotic in the conductive polymer film dried by the portion where the slope of the curve changes with increasing temperature It can be seen that the magnetic polar solvent remains.
The aprotic polar solvent used in the present invention is dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), n, n-dimethyl formamide (DMF), tetrahydrofuran (THF) and n-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NMP). It is preferable that it is any one selected from the group consisting of, and in addition, it is not particularly limited as long as it is a solvent capable of dissolving the PEDOT uniformly mixed with the PEDOT / PSS polymer solution.
In addition, the volume ratio of the PEDOT / PSS polymer solution and the aprotic polar solvent is preferably 1: 1 to 15: 1, and particularly preferably 3: 1. If the ratio is less than 1: 1, the amount of aprotic polar solvent in the mixed solution becomes too excessive, resulting in thinning of the mixed solution and inadequate for production in the form of a polymer film. It is not preferable because the amount of the protic polar solvent is small because it hardly affects the electrical conductivity after drying.
Method for producing a conductive polymer film according to the present invention
(a) 폴리(3,4-에틸렌디옥시티오펜)/폴리(4-스티렌설포네이트) 고분자 용액에 비양성자성 극성용매를 혼합하는 단계;(a) mixing an aprotic polar solvent in a poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) / poly (4-styrenesulfonate) polymer solution;
(b) 상기 혼합용액을 교반하여 균질한 용액을 얻은 후 여과하는 단계;(b) stirring the mixed solution to obtain a homogeneous solution and then filtering;
(c) 상기 얻어진 용액을 평판 면에 균일하게 도포하는 단계; 및(c) uniformly applying the obtained solution to the plate surface; And
(d) 전기 전도도를 변화시킬 수 있도록 건조온도를 변화시키며 상기 비양성자성 극성용매를 증발시키는 단계를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.(d) varying the drying temperature to change the electrical conductivity and evaporating the aprotic polar solvent.
The drying temperature is preferably in the range of 50 ℃ to below the boiling point of each aprotic polar solvent. When the drying temperature is less than 50 ° C, it is not preferable because the drying process takes too much time, and when drying above the boiling point of the polar solvent, it is preferable because the polar solvents evaporate so rapidly that they cannot contribute to an increase in electrical conductivity. Not. In the case of DMSO, the boiling point is 189 ° C, the boiling point of DMF is 153 ° C, the boiling point of THF is 67 ° C, and the boiling point of NMP is 202 ° C. At the temperature below the boiling point of each solvent, the higher the temperature, the higher the solubility of PEDOT and the more active the polar solvent. Therefore, the polar solvent can be more uniformly intercalated in the PEDOT / PSS chain. It is judged that the screen effect is increased. However, since the polar solvents evaporate very rapidly near the boiling point of each polar solvent, it cannot contribute to an increase in electrical conductivity.
The conductive polymer prepared by the present invention may be prepared in a powder form as well as a film, and the method for producing the film may be solution casting, spin-coating, doctor blade, or the like.
A conductive polymer was prepared in the same manner as in Example 1, except that only a poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) / poly (4-styrenesulfonate) polymer solution was used.
Test Example 1: Measurement of room temperature direct current conductivity of conductive polymer
The conductive polymer films prepared in Examples 1 to 12 and Comparative Example 1 were measured for direct current conductivity at room temperature using an electrical conductivity measuring device known to those skilled in the art, and the results are shown in Table 1 below.
As can be seen in Table 1, the electrical conductivity was varied from 5 S / cm to 124 S / cm depending on the polar solvent used and the drying temperature. Even when the same polar solvent was used, the electrical temperature was changed according to the drying temperature during the preparation of the conductive polymer.
Test Example 2: Temperature dependence measurement of the room temperature direct current conductivity of the conductive polymer
The temperature dependence of DC electrical conductivity was measured while changing the temperature of the conductive polymer films prepared in Examples 2, 7, 11, 12 and Comparative Example 1, and the results are shown in FIG. 5.
As shown in FIG. 5, the film in the case where the aprotic polar solvent is not added to the PEDOT / PSS polymer solution is rapidly reduced in electrical conductivity as the temperature decreases, but the film according to the present invention also has an initial value of electrical conductivity. It can be seen that the electrical conductivity of the film according to the present invention is superior to that of the conventional film because it is not only high but also has a moderate temperature dependency.
As described above, the conductive polymer according to the present invention has superior electrical properties than the conventional conductive polymer, and the manufacturing method is simple, and it is possible to produce different electrical conductivity according to the aprotic polar solvent, so that the electrode of the electromagnetic device It can be applied to various fields such as electrostatic discharge, electromagnetic shielding, hole injection electrode, and corrosion prevention material.
